Nice place, great staff, and friendly place and people. This place was really nice for chill when you have nothing to do in labuan Bajo. Enjoy at swimming pool and have some drinks. I always need my to refill my glass of ocean commotion..... Good for Indra and Mathil thanks for you guys.

This restaurant is located in the grounds of Spring Hill Bungalows, although it seems to be a separate business. We sampled delicious dishes such as spinach with shrimp paste and sautéed green beans. The Japanese pork loin was tender and juicy. Everything was refined and delicious.We were, however, a bit disappointed by the large amount of fried dishes, which narrowed down our selection quite a bit, since we dislike deep fried foods. One suggestion: why not add a dessert list? At least for fresh fruits or ice cream.The staff was friendly and helpful.

Good food, kind waitress, serving is pretty fast. If you don't take an entree, the mains are too small, therefore the price is a bit high for Indonesia.

Great place in a very small village ! Lovely cosy and friendly cafe bar with a great house band playing covers and lots of Coldplay and reggae ! Simple tasty Indonesian food served well and quickly. One of a few places to eat if staying here - and very good value. Great evening.

My2nd time at mama,foods great typical authentic Indonesian food, just like mum would cook,yum !there's no menu depends on what's available from the sea or markets ,had rendang,prawns,long beans, tempeh, with rice great, its up stairs but you can't miss waring Mama sign,its cheap but most of all cooked from a cultured heart,highly recommended, Bob.

We went there to have some traditional Indonesian food. It was very fresh and was prepared quickly for us so that we could eat all at the same time. The couple who was running the restaurant could speak English very well (which is quite difficult to find in Ruteng) and the lady was cooking in the kitchen. They were super friendly and even drove us back to the hotel as we didnât have any taxi! We really enjoyed the handmade cocktails at happy hour. Nice, appropriately priced foods that we could share. Good variety. Interesting cocktails (not just the basic). Donât pop in here âquickly.â A quality cocktail takes a minute to make. With games available to play, a pool to swim in - pull some chairs together and hang out a while!

Typical example of how things can get wrong when you leave it to laymen â even with the best intentions in the world: things go well... until they go wrong! We went there for a romantic dinner on my husbandâs birthday and were warmly welcomed by the staff. We ordered appetizers with cocktails: the appetizers were ok, except that the sauces (the one for the spring rolls as well as the so-called « peanut sauce » for the meatballs, which by the way contained no peanut...) were both so spicy that we couldnât eat them. We asked for sweet soy sauce as a replacement, but had to remind the waiter twice, until we finally got it â and by then, our appetizers were obviously cold. Then the « improvised barman » came with a small table to prepare « live cocktails ». That was cute (he was cute too), but he left his instruments fall twice on the floor and put them straight back into our cocktails... Oops! Finally, although we had not yet finished our main dishes and although it was not even 7:15pm, the staff decided to noisily move the tables and chairs back and forth without lifting them (just by dragging them). It was so noisy that we couldnât even listen to each other. That was the end of our dinner: we were so disappointed that we didnât even finish our plates. We then realized we were the only clients left on the terrace: no wonder, with such a treatment...Apparently, people go there to have drinks and to enjoy the beautiful sunset, but they leave right after (sunset is around 5:30 to 6 pm) â contrary to us, who choose to have dinner there... That was obviously a bad choice on our part. Sari Rasa is a great way to learn about Indonesian (Javanese) warung food. Very simple menu of local favorites made with care from local ingredients and no MSG. And you donât have to be embarrassed by ignorance, the delightful owner loves to explain in his excellent English. If you already know then itâs just great local street food in a spotless environment.
