Reviewed By handrentWonderful hotel, big rooms, very king staff! Very nice Spa and wellness! Typical great German breakfast! Really nothing to complain about! Nice mountains around the small town! Zurich and Bern is one to one and a half hour from this place! We stayed here for 3 nights and 4 days and we really loved it! Ooh yeah, last but not least, the hotel is for more that 100 years and four generations in the same family! One can tell, see and feel!

Venerable spot on old town platz
Reviewed By fieldingEvery few years we've had occasion to stay at this lovely hotel on Waldshut's vehicle free town/market square. I suspect not many Americans visit this town on the Rhine river, a stone's throw from Switzerland. We do because we have family in the area. The Waldshuter Hof has been around for years, with comfortable, clean rooms and a fine restaurant. If you're driving there's a convenient parking garage just behind the hotel. A recent stay confirmed how much we like this simple welcoming property. Rooms over the square will pick up noise, as voices carry up, but we find it, oh I don't know, kind of communal. The breakfast buffet is fairly extensive with plenty of breads, cheese, meat, eggs, fruit and so on. For value and comfort -- but certainly not luxury -- it's the place to stay in Waldshut.

Very comfortable and very friendly staff!
Reviewed By Joe BBeside the good price very confortable beds. Bathroom with hair dryer and enough space behind the mirror doors, to put all things men and women usually bring (cosmetics). In general the rooms are not very big, but well designed and practical (minibar, water cooker, free coffee, etc.). The staff including the owner are very friendly and trustful people. Breakfast is rich and good! Since this hotel is not very close to a restaurant, they offer a shuttle service to and from the restaurant called METROPOL (same owner). Actually a very good restaurant, you will see my review! All in all a very nice place to stay. I liked it very much!

Reviewed By Linda RWe stayed overnight here whilst visiting some museums in the area. Our room was above the breakfast room, it very clean and what we needed for a good nights sleep. The breakfast was included in the price and self service. There was ample choice from the hams, cheeses, breads etc. Car parking was secure and the staff were friendly. .

Reviewed By JeterPWe stayed here on our way to and on our way back from Lake Constance (Bodensee). Rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. The food was fairly simple but good and plentiful. The host and his family were very helpful, cooking our requested supper on return and giving us apples and water for our journey. Suggested improvement would be drat beer.

Reviewed By Zvi HWe arrived directly from Zurich Airport (about 30 km) for only 1 night (now we are sorry for that) we got a very big room (apartment) the staff was very kind and helpful. We served dinner as well, the food was very teasty and the prices were very fair. The breakfast wasn't so rich but was enough. Excellent place espacially for Zurich airport passengers. Highly recommended.

Reviewed By McTutA bit out of town and not the easiest place to find by bicycle, but an interesting place and great value. It's basically in a sports complex, as the name suggests and although quite basic, it's clean, comfortable, staff are friendly, good wifi, nice setting, secure storage for bikes, decent breakfast and perfect for our needs. Reception is only open during certain times of day - a few hours in the morning and a few hours in the evening.
