Reviewed By Pedro RWell located, uncomfortable experience. A few good waiters but most were stand-offish. This Hotel is sold for adults only but there were a few teenagers with parents. Personally I won’t go back there.

"Retro Hotel" but with good service
Reviewed By VladoV_SKThe hotel in "retro" style, equipment and furnishings of rooms and bathrooms is really from the 80s. The hotel would be modernized. The soundproofing of the rooms is insufficient, you can hear everything from the surrounding rooms. However, the bed is very comfortable. The staff try to keep the hotel clean, which they do. The advantage is individual air conditioning, which, however, should be cleaned more often. The dining room is large but the food is very tasty, there is plenty of it and the advantage is free drinks. The beach is in the immediate vicinity, just cross the promenade and is very well maintained and nice with everything the beach needs.

Reviewed By RenjoysTravelTihany is less than 90 minutes drive from Budapest. Not too far from Balatonfüred, this gem of an apartment is right on the lake. With its contemporary, clean neutral color decorOliver Lux offers everything a family needs to unwind while feeling home. Secured parking, Breakfast on demand and Bicycle rent- you have it all. Step outside the door and you will find yourself in your small private terrace/garden opening into a large green space leading to the lake. A lot of fishing enthusiasts claimed spots on the lakeside - seemed like very popular. The train on road stops outside the hotel to take passengers upto the town center where the monastery is located. Costs 500 huf per person if I remember right. The kitchen is equipped with a a conduction electric hob, compact dishwasher, oven. All basic cutlery, pots & a pan, mugs etc were provided. We missed a microwave which was provided on request. There are cafe‘s & food Stall less than a minute away close to the beach. As vegetarians out options were limited but can’t complain. Good old langos and margarita pizza anytime. The bathroom is large and spacious- it has a sauna too - which is a nice to have although we never used it. Staff was very helpful and attended to our requests promptly. They all spoke English and were very kind. I would highly recommend Oliver Lux as your home away from home on Balaton. A quiet & modern property in a fantastic location. With several day trips in the vicinity and biking paths all around, you can for sure keep yourself busy and fit. Ofcourse there is the Beach too. We are going back soon & I hope you can visit aswell & enjoy waking up to excellent views.

Nice friendly hotel with 65 rooms, good hungarian kitchen, wellness services, free parking and guest-orientated personal. The hotel is directly at the bike path around the Lake Balaton and a few minutes walk from the center. Double/twin rooms, family rooms, suites are also available. The hotel has an imposing event hall also, for family or company events.
Surprisingly lovely hotel
Reviewed By dungalitisWe came up here in early September 2019 to escape Budapest on a budget... we were not disappointed. The hotel is right beside Lake Balaton and a ten minute walk to the main drag of gift shops and restaurants. The hotel exterior has a Wes Anderson-style and the grounds are kept immaculately clean and tidy, particularly the pool and lounge area, which also has their own outdoor toilet facilities which are very pleasant and private. The receptionists are very polite and fluent in English, and more than willing to help. The room we stayed in for one night was quite old school, late 80’s decor and furniture - but it was spotless and had all the amenities you need. However, the shampoo/body wash dispenser in the shower was watered down, presumably to save on using more product, so you can’t really wash yourself with it - bring your own shampoo and body wash if staying here. In the evening we went downstairs to the lobby area and were greeted with an amazing smell of food. Dinner was a self-service buffet and contained many samples of dishes and combinations for all tastes - vegetarian included. I recommend the pork in Sicilian style sauce - delicious! For a 3 star hotel, the food was surprisingly fresh and bountiful. Again, the staff in the dining area were super helpful and always willing to assist with a smile. The facilities were clean and we thoroughly enjoyed this experience. Breakfast the next morning was fabulous with so much choices of food - cold cut meats, salads, cheeses, fruits, cereals, vegetables, wide variety of coffees and teas, bratwurst sausages, scrambled eggs, breads etc. In my opinion the staff put in huge effort in simply preparing the breakfast platter and it was noticed by fellow guests - very commendable. Overall, the two of us had a lovely experience in this quaint hotel. In order of preference, I would give #1 for the staff, #2 for the food, #3 for the room and facilities. I would recommend this hotel for budget seekers with a large appetite who enjoy strong customer service. Thank you for having us!

A safe bet
Reviewed By 187duncI/we only stayed here for one night. The hotel is roomy, clean and minimalistic. It's design is actually quite cool in some respects. The room is spacious with plenty of room for two, with the added bonus of a balcony. There's plenty of parking around the side and it's in a reasonably good location. If everything is so good, then why the slightly average score.... Even though the hotel is pleasant enough, it simply lacks any warmth and breakfast was a bit disappointing. For breakfast they bring out a plate of meats, cheese and some sliced vegetables. It was all a little underwhelming. But that said, it's a solid place to stay if you can get the room at a good price.

The Hotel Mayer*** Superior is found ont he Northen coast of lake Balaton in Alsóörs, 12 kms from Veszprém, not far from Bakony Hills, which has healthy climate and picturesque countryside. The access to Alsóörs and the hotel is perfect on otorway M7 and route 8 and 71. The railway and coach network are also optimal to reach the place. Our hotel is 800 meter from the lake in calm environment. It has got 18 double rooms with extra beds and 2 apartmans. The size of rooms is big enough to accomodate 4 people (2 adults + 2 children) comfortably. All the rooms are equipped with modern bathrooms, minibar, TV and air-conditioning. In the park round the hotel you can foind sunbathing terrace, garden-pool for adults and for children. Three times a week we invite our guests for grill and barbecue parties at our open-air furnace. In the poolbar of our hotel you can find all kind of drinks, which you can choose.Our family-type Hotel Mayer*** Superior is waiting for you all over the year.

This is a beautiful family hotel. very nice owners. the rooms are clean, well equipped and cozy. The hotel has a beautiful indoor terrace with a bar, a heated pool and a beautiful sauna. I warmly recommend. we will definitely be back here
