Top 10 hotels in Turkish Aegean Coast, Turkey

August 26, 2022 Darleen Reid

Containing a staggering wealth of historic sites, Turkey’s inexpensive Aegean makes a marvelous introduction to both ancient and modern Turkey. Buses make easy connections between sites. Picturesque Bodrum boasts hopping nightlife, a crusader castle and the tomb of King Mausolus. The rest of the coast has Roman ruins and Byzantine remains aplenty, including Troy’s walls, as well as the monument-strewn WWII battlefields of Gallipoli, the resort town of Kusadasi, fabulous surfing beaches and modern Izmir.

Perdue Hotel

A hidden place…Where nature sings in absolute freedom, echoing the listeners inner voice…Carrying the beautiful smell of the Mountains in its breeze…A blend of Shiraz and Yakut pouring into the Mediterranean delights at late evening tables...A visual festival where green and blue, mountains and waves dance…Sweat serendipity of water and soil, meeting at the heart of ancient Lydia in Faralya.A place for two, to live a dream…That is why Perdue is a bit different from a classical boutique hotel idea. It is not only a hotel, but a sound, smell, a taste and a smooth cuddling… It is an escape for two, where adventure and excitement sleep next to calmness and silence. When was the last time you layed your feet on the ground?Or woke up in the middle of the nature…When was the last time you washed your face in the seaOr gathered your own tomato for breakfast…Have you ever enjoyed nature in comfort?Or listened to your lovers voice accompanied by a Mediterranean song…Have you ever witnessed sunset on the top of the endless seaPerdue is a film studio for you to recreate those movements, calls you to be the producer, director and actor of a wonderland…

Beautiful settings, but a little rough around the edges

Reviewed By hzanderson

The setting and layout of this hotel I’m sure cannot be beaten. Directly on the seafront, the way the paths weave throughout the rocks has been beautifully done and offers no end of places to explore and relax. However, I’m not convinced it warrants the exceptionally high price tag. The highlights - we stayed in infinity room 1 which had an uninterrupted view out to the ocean, with only the sounds of the sea and birds to go to sleep to and wake up to. Food was on the whole exceptional (breakfast, snacks and dinner). Cocktails were very tasty and they were more than happy to go off menu and create something special. Best Bloody Mary I’ve had in a long time - with freshly pulped tomatoes. Token welcome/departure gifts were very much appreciated. Why I’m calling it ‘rough around the edges’ - for almost 400EUR a night I expect pretty much everything to work as, or better than, expected and it didn’t. The mobile phone they gave us upon arrival to call for room service from anywhere on the property kept switching off so we usually ended up just having to walk to the bar. The jacuzzi in our room had no cold water, so whilst they sent someone up quickly on night 1, we lost 20 mins of relaxing sunset time whilst it was fixed. On night 2 it didn’t work again, but we couldn’t find anyone, so we couldn’t use it until well after dark after the water had cooled down for a few hours. They said breakfast started at 8:30, we arrived promptly at 8:30 on our last morning as we had to leave at 9:15, but didn’t get any service (drinks or food) until 8:50, so we lost half the breakfast time. Upon arrival, we were left sitting around for about 20 mins before checking in the room, no idea why. Drink and food prices are very high, ~250 TRY for cocktails. Bed was comfy, but I think only a double so felt a little cramped. Whilst some of the staff were very helpful and courteous, others looked frankly miserable so not super pleasant to be around. Overall, these are small things which wouldn’t bother me at most places, but for the cost, it was just a bit disappointing. Also re the activities which I was wondering about myself before booking - boat was 1400TRY to hire for 2 hours. Yoga was apparently ‘on demand’ but we didn’t try it. Art/trekking were on certain days 2-3 times / week, but maybe that changes in high season. Cinema was apparently 10PM every night. Would I recommend it to friends to visit? Probably - the setting was a magical experience unlike anything I’ve ever encountered. Would I go again myself? Not as it was.

AMAZING HOLIDAY.

Reviewed By GlenWilkins

Me, my wife and our daughter Phoebe stayed here for 10 nights, we couldn't fault this place, the hotel is well organised and well run. The food in the restaurant was varied and we were never stuck for something to eat. We also ate at paprika restaurant one night and it was ok. We want to give a big shout out to DEYRAN in the restaurant, she always looked after us, and always gave us a lovely welcome with a lovely smile. The entertainment team were always fun, especially MARS, RODNEY AND BARNEY. Our daughter loved doing the different activities with them, especially water polo. Although RODNEY never let her score, ?You guys keep up the good work. All the staff in the hotel work so hard, and always acknowledged us with a smile, especially the maids. The hotel has a number of bars, so you have plenty of choice, the drinks and cocktails are ok, we especially enjoyed the BMW, the barman on the beach bar made the best one of these. Calis is just a 10 minute walk away and has a lovely promenade with plenty of bars/restaurants. There are stunning sunsets which you never get bored of watching. The end of our holiday was dampened by our flight being cancelled. We were really stressed out. The only person who helped us was BELLA from guest relations, who was absolutely fantastic, she managed to get us another night in the hotel and helped us sort another flight out. BELLA thank you so much, you really are a great asset to this hotel. We really loved our holiday in Jiva, and we will be returning one day. Thank you so much. Glen, Hayley and Phoebe x

My friends and I have just returned from our amazing holiday at Liberty Fabay. The facilities were outstanding and there was so much to do for every age group. The food was top notch and there was a great selection. I would like to thank Ali and Mehmet for their excellent service at the main restaurant and snack bar. As for entertainment, my friends and I thoroughly enjoyed the foam party, evening shows, beach volleyball and fitness activities. A particular highlight for us was the karaoke night. A huge shout out to Soufiane, Deniz, Lisa and Alla for getting us involved, being so welcoming and always having a huge smile on their faces. Finally, Gamze and Hilal at guest relations were very helpful when we had a few issues and attended to our needs straight away. We definitely plan to return here again!!

Awesome holiday!

Reviewed By Mohammed A

This was one of the best holidays we have had since the lifting of covid. The hotel and staff went above and beyond our expectations from the minute I emailed them to upgrade our room to a pool view, up until the minute we got in to our private taxi to come home. The weather was 40 plus every day and the hotel premises itself was spotless! Backing on to the wonderful beach in Gumbet you don't have to walk far whatsoever to get to the beach and lounge all day. The hotel has 3 good sizes pools and each has its own vibe, with the entertainment team continously keeping every smiling and laughting. I have to give a special mention to the whole of the entertainment team at the hotel and especially the 2 girls - Sasha and Polina who are always smiling and full of energy and love for everyone. My daughter had soo much fun and enjoyed every minute of the holiday and that was all thanks to Sasha and Polina. So a big big thank you and Ayaana sends her love to you both. The food was spot on everyday and plenty of good food all day long too. The cleanliness was great and and we had no issues apart from a few ants coming to stay with us a few hours. But one call to the reception and that was sorted. The only negative thing I would say is when busy you have to get up at 7am to put your towels on the sun loungers others you miss out. But there are some holiday makers that would leave their towels on the chairs and not turn up all day, I think the hotel should either increase the amount of chairs or monitor this better. Overall I just want to say a huge thank you to all the staff at the Parkim Ayaz for making our stay special and we look forward to staying with you again in the near future Inn Shaa Allah. Mohammed.

First time to Marmaris so wasn't sure what to expect. We as a family really liked it it's a busy place plenty things to do day and night so many places to eat out shops galore selling everything at cheap prices upwards depends what your after. Didn't go on the beach as it's a bit of a gritty sand. There's a beautiful marina and castle to see there's a fountain show at 9pm which I didn't get to see. Dolomos buses 10tl (50p) one way, water taxi to icmiller 80tl (£4) lira rate in shops in Marmaris very good 20tl to £1 wait and change your money here better rates than uk. So many trips to go on and good prices book at any of the travel shops in Marmaris we used September for ours beside our hotel club Aida. Marmaris us a lovely place and we will definitely be coming back next year
