We booked a room in their annex and was asked if we would like to upgrade to the main hotel the day before our arrival. We accepted the upgrade only to find out on our arrival that the shower was NOT operating. There was a bathtub with a shower hose we could use. For a tall person that is not something to look forward to. The bathroom and room were very spacious. Breakfast was nice, I feel the scrambled eggs were from a box, nothing I have had before and at this level of a hotel.

Comfortable hotel with easy access to main attractions

Very spacious suite with terrace, nice amenities, and walking distance from Malmedy center. Breakfast is good but it can get very crowded in the late morning, so we always went around 7.30am to avoid the crowd.

Reviewed By jeremymK3741NCExcellent view of the Meuse River. The hotel had good accomodations. It was a little pricey but the location in Dinant was probably a good reason. Well within walking distance of the church and fortress.

Awful customer service and checkout experience, held onto my money
Reviewed By JamesAndEllie94When I checked in I made a full payment of €289.20. However when I checked out I was surprised to be told I had a full balance to pay. The lady on the desk explained that my initial payment was only a pre-authorisation and not a proper payment. Nevertheless the €289.20 was deducted from my account balance and the funds were unavailable to me. I was making the payment using a travel card, with a set allocated amount of money that I wanted to spend whilst in Belgium. Therefore after you taking the pre-authorisation amount, there were insufficient funds available on this card. I am well aware that hotels will often take a pre-authorisation, however they would then confirm the initial payment, not force me to essentially pay them twice. Reluctantly I made a second payment using my British credit card. I was told this would take 3 days to return to my account. I checked the payment everyday which stayed in pending stage. I sent an email after a week which was ignored, then sent a second email which was ignored. Shocking customer service! They eventually replied to me on day 16 when the money had returned to my account, only because the payment had expired. Such a shame as the hotel itself was fine, but I will not use Pentahotel again after this experience

Reviewed By Christopher JThe Couronne is perfectly located in the Baroque old town of Solothurn, one of Switzerland’s gems. The rooms are large, comfortable and tastefully furnished. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly, one definitely has the impression that this is a family run establishment. Can’t wait to visit again.

Not good enough for the price
Reviewed By 963andrejssWe got a double deluxe room which I suppose was recently renovated. It was 650 EUR per night, which seemed too expensive. Location of the room was in the fartherst corner of a long corridor, which didn't seem to cosy. Feeling inside the room was that it is located in a basement. Bathroom shover room still had pencil writing on the new tiles and one place of tile connection still had some tile shavings stuck to it. Toilet floor consisted of one tile, which was broken in the left corner. Overall, I don't understand what makes it a 5 star hotel.

Oasis of fine design and taste
Reviewed By 807danicakI stayed with a group for a business meeting. The hotel is new, clean, bright, a true oasis in the city center. The lobby is well designed providing for a homey atmosphere. Our meeting room was well equipped. The staff and the manager are fantastic! Kind and supportive, they took extra care of our group, making sure that our meeting ran smoothly. The food was very tasty and freshly prepared. I had a studio on the top floor, spacious and nicely designed. The windows can be opened, which I like very much (to get fresh air). They are also sound proof so guests can have peace although in the city. The bed was wide and very comfortable, charging plugs available everywhere. The bathroom is beautifully designed and equipped for a great shower. The cosmetics are carefully selected. All details taken care of, my impression is that this hotel is created by an experienced traveller. I would like to come back again and would highly recommend this hotel!

Luxury hostel
Reviewed By wessel_1560Disappointed at first view is probably the best expression for this hotel. You expect to spent a romantic weekend at a castel and you ended up at a luxury hostel. After a while and changing rooms it gets better but the restaurant is to avoid. Terrible. Breakfast is very good and the staff friendly. The sauna, actually only 2x 2 person sauna and a hamman, no showers close to the sauna, is hopelessly to small for such a big place. So if your expectations are right, good value for money with the exception of the restaurant.
