Do Not Stay Here!

The staff were very nice and friendly, but that’s about the only good thing I can say about this place. The elevator wasn’t working properly (was told it was getting fixed and after a weeks stay it still wasn’t), blood on the floor all the way up the stairwell, rooms smell like smoke, bathroom not cleaned very well (hair in the tub and dried puddle of something on the floor), clogged sink, and hair in the sheets (they did switch my room for me right away). The new room seemed cleaner but still smelled of cigarette smoke. To top it off a couple coworkers vehicles were broken into in the hotel parking lot. Not located in the best part of town. I always stay at BW if it’s an option, but I will not be staying at this location again. My coworkers who were staying another week checked out and went to a different hotel.

I stayed here one night as i waited for my flight out of Terrace. Nice folks right out of the gate, offering me a ride to the airport when i expressed reliability concerns regarding the local taxi service. The rooms were simple, clean, quiet and cozy. Affordable as well, being significantly cheaper than the other hotels in the area. A top notch bargain if you're ever in this neck of the woods . Thanks folks, for the restful stay.

Never Again

Reviewed By 613robynb

Never again. I am a disabled combat veteran of 21 years in the Canadian Armed Forces. I went in with my service dog. I asked for a room for persons with disabilities. "We don't have those" Do you have military or a disability discount?""or AMA discount?" Receptionist "we don't do discounts here." You can talk to management in the morning" Ok, so I purchased a room as it was midnight. I was asked to use a mask. In which I had told the receptionist that I have a service dog and an exception letter 2 times prior. I said, "I have an exemption letter, would you like to see it?" I was chuckled at. In the morning I came for breakfast I was not informed I had to be vaccinated to enter the restaurant. I went without breakfast that morning because they gave me no options to eat. I am disabled and did not want or think I should have to go to McDonald's. I grew up in this town and I am shocked and appauled that the Northern has become what it is. I will never ever ever go there again! Thank you. Robyn Burke

The Lodge at Skeena Landing

A Relaxing, Peaceful Stay

Reviewed By DigitalRabbit

Terrace, British Columbia was the starting point for a trip into the Great Bear Rainforest. Because I had never been to Terrace, I decided to book two days prior to, and two days after, my Great Bear adventure. With all the Covid restrictions and concerns, I opted to reserve a room at The Lodge at Skeena Landing. I’m glad I did. It was a much better option for me than staying at a chain motel. Both my pre and post rooms were very roomy with a king bed, couch, lounge chair, fireplace, mini fridge, and outdoor patio. Other than venturing out for dinner and breakfast, I relaxed in the room, took in the view of the trees, and enjoyed the peace and quiet. The check-in and check-out were contactless—a key was left in a lock box with combination. One of the best room features is the heated bathroom floor. Stepping out of the shower onto that floor was a delight! The Lodge is a bit off the beaten track, but I enjoy walking, even in the rain, so the location was fine for me. There are two restaurants at the location, but they are not open seven days a week. One serves breakfast and lunch. The other lunch and dinner. There are other excellent options in Terrace, but they are about a 40 minute walk. A taxi is always an option if you don’t have a rental car.

A beautiful place to decompress

Reviewed By P3184QPcraigs

I was in Terrace for work and luckily decided to stay at the Skeena River House. It made such a difference compared to staying at a hotel in town! Peace and quiet and the sounds of the river helped me to relax and decompress. The room was very nice and up-to-date and even had in-floor heating in the bathroom and hand-painted tiles. I hope to make it back and bring my wife and kids. Breakfast was delicious with really great coffee. Thanks Kim!!

The most helpful gentlemen that I meet

Reviewed By jbou35

We stay in Terrace (B.C.) for 15 days. We were visiting our daughter who move recently in that city .One night we decide to go to a restaurant downtown, and on our way back we get lost...no telephone, no GPS. We turn back at Copper river, were we saw a motel open. There we met a classy gentleman dress like a Ritz Carlton employee: white shirt, black pants, and black bow tie. He told me the way to retrieve my daughter address. I told him that if I get lost again I will be back here to rent a motel. The answer was amazing:« no Sir if you dont find the address, come back, I will close the motel and drive you there». I am more than 80 years old, I have traveled a lot in my life, and I never met such a kind people in hotel business I dont know how the rooms are, but I am sure they canot be bad with such a person
