Worst Hilton Stay in 30 Years

Reviewed By Muskokaman1

I've been a Hilton Honours corporate travel member for over 30 years. The last 8 as a Diamond Member. In over 30 years of approximately 120 nights a year with the Hilton organization worldwide, I have finally landed on the property with the most in compétant staff. It would take me over 1000 words to detail the "Goat Rodeo" that represents this Hilton banner. After 4 days of daily requests to fix the billing (upon check-in, the front desk cancelled all my stays and rebooked me at twice the price), I still received 4 emailed invoices - everyone wrong I requested housekeeping and got none. After 4 days of waiting for housekeeping, all I got was "Sorry". Hey Sherry (manager).... The dishes from the sink are in the hallway on the 5th floor to minimize the stench in 502. Tuesday morning I'm calling Hilton Diamond line, Hilton Canada corporate offices and explaining why after 30 years, Hilton can put their diamonds in a deep dark place. Marriott Bonvoy here I come.

The location is great, close to a variety of stores and restaurants. The hotel is clean and the rooms are comfortable. However, the stand out was the friendliness of the staff. In particular I'd like to call out and thank Leila who served us in the hotel dining room. She was exceptionally helpful and friendly, contributing to a memorable stay. I would strongly recommend this location when visiting Sudbury.

Don't book through the hotel app

Reviewed By kcL3014MN

My family and I have stayed here several times and love it. We visit a disabled family member who's in a care home in the area. Last month I booked but we caught covid. Normally I book through booking.com or Expedia apps. This time I booked through the hotel. I had until 11pm on the Wednesday to cancel. I canceled and received a confirmation text at 230pm on the Wednesday. I was surprised to see I was charged for this room. I called the hotel fully expecting this to easily be sorted as we go here quite often. I spoke to a young fellow who put me on hold while he spoke to his supervisor Nicole, he came back on the line and I was told there was no refund. I asked to speak to the manager and he told me she had just left..... I called the head office, they could see I had canceled at 230 on the Wednesday, so they gave me a case number and I was told the property would contact me in 2-3 days. It's been 2 weeks. I called again today. I waited 25 min on hold, so I hung up and called the Reservation 1-800 number. I opted for a call back option as the wait time was estimated over 10 minutes. I received a call back and the gentleman said he couldn't help and transferred me. I waited 25 more minutes for an agent. I explained the above, again thinking it wouldn't be a problem. She put me on hold for 20 more minutes!!!! Someone picked up and said 'hi can I help you'. I explained I was being helped and waiting for the lady to come back to the call. She replied that her name is Kristy and she's a supervisor and that there were no refunds. So I asked her why I received a cancelation confirmation text and why I would bother to cancel a non-refundable room.- I've never heard of this. She answered " why did you bother?" And then....... she hung up. She hung up!!!!!! That's it. That's all. Paid for a room, didn't travel with covid, followed the rules. 5 phone calls, over 1 hour of time spent to be spoken to so rudely and hung up on. I'm a reasonable person. This is so unacceptable. I'm so so so disappointed and feel like they don't care about their guests at all. We are traveling up again this weekend now that we are covid free, I will find another hotel to stay at.

Was renovated approximately 6 years ago. It looks like it was renovated last week. Comfortable bed and pillows. I never did see the pool but I understand there is a pool. It's about a 90 second walk to McDonald's And less than a 10 minute walk to other restaurants and banks. The floor and room numbering is a little challenging for delivery guys. The main level is L for lobby but if you enter from the back you're entering on for one and there is no floor number 2 in the elevator. I was having a good time listening to the delivery guys b******* about trying to find the room number they're looking for.. I would definitely stay here again

Room was so awful I took pictures to send to head office. Looked like it was rented by the hour. Staff moved us up to main floor and it was much better. I know Travel lodge hotels are not high-end but was not expecting a room with broken patio door, shredded drapes and latter's dead flies and debris still on the patio doors threshold. The second room was much better .
