The location is as good as it gets. Right on the beach, with a lovely area for walks. Also, close to the centre of town. The rooms are worn and dirty. The fridge very noisy. Walls thin enough to listen to the neighbours talking. The room had a strong odour of many previous guests. On the plus side the rate was very reasonable at $109. per night. The new lady at the front desk was courteous.

This place should be condemned. It is SO filthy! The fridge did not work. It’s so disgusting. The gross shower with filthy stained shower curtain. I’m surprised it isn’t rat infested. Camping would be better... even sleeping in my van would be better.

This hotel has had a face lift. The exterior looks great. We were in a “villa”. There were two queen beds, two casual chair, a table, microwave, fridge, induction hotplate & a coffee maker. No chairs for the table, no toaster or kettle. There were ants all over the kitchen floor and they got into the food and the fridge. Not a clean place

SHOCKING SERVICE

I was charged to stay at this motel when i never made a booking. I thought it was a scam when they called me to tell me they were charging me a no show fee Once i saw the amount come off my credit card i knew it was not fake, i called the motel and i spoke to the rudest human being i have ever had the displeasure of speaking to. She literally could not care what was happening, she was not interested in listening to me or let me explain myself. Further more, she tells me she cant cancel the booking but soon after that she tells me if i pay 5 days then she can cancel it. After i asked to speak to the owner she tells me she is the owner but then later on denies she told me that. Completely shocked at how they are handling this

The place is beautiful, woke up to a fantastic view from a very comfortable sleep. We stayed for two nights while on a business trip and we will be back next month, after RRSP season is over. Getting to know Patricia and Peter on the first night was a treat that doesn't happen in most places. We would certainly recommend spending the time to get to know them as they have interesting life stories. Looking forward to returning.

Welcoming couple, like staying with Family (The kind you like!)

I was headed over for a one night work trip and thought I could stay at a local motel or try the Bed and Breakfast thing. Glad I chose the latter. Decided to call the Davis Brook Retreat directly instead of book impersonally through a travel site. Rosette was pleasant and welcoming. I was uncertain about windy weather and possible ferry delays. She was kind enough to hold my reservation and not bill me until I could confirm. I was greeted by her husband Bob a charming English gentleman who showed me the room and gave me keys and some tips for my day outing. I ended up working out and swimming at the close by aquatic centre. Then out for a nice dinner at The Shift Kitchen Tapas Bar. A great day. I returned home to enjoy a beverage and some great conversation with Bob and Rosette who were very nice people and gracious hosts. I can wholeheartedly recommend this as an alternative to typical travel. The bed was cozy and comfortable and the home is set in an idyllic setting on a quiet road in the wilderness. Clean, Private room and bathroom. Top notch! Thanks for a great stay!

Do not stay here!!!!!

These people do not care about the health and well being of their guests. I have severe mold allergy and wrote in advance asking about water damage. They did not respond. HORRIBLE WATER DAMAGE AS EVIDENCED BY THESE PICTURES!!!!!! I called when I saw the ceilings, no answer. I tried to stick it out and by 1:00am I felt like I was dying and left to go sleep in my car. It is bad enough to live with a chronic illness, it is worse when people disregard your queries to protect your health. They have refused to return my money despite the fact that I did not stay and my early questions and requests. Mold illness is serious and affects a quarter of the population profoundly.

The location is about 5 minutes from Sechelt. The patio had beautiful view of the trees and water from the patio. My girlfriend and I laid in the hammock and watched the sunset with that view.
