Whole in there got to know they train students (azubies?) , our waiters mostly all young students all super kind and willing to help, they spoke perfect english, what a treat! Spa and wellness areas were neat and clean, the room clean and comfortable, the breakfast and dinner plenty and delicious. Will come back.

Great to be able to borrow hotel bikes for a lovely ride in the beautiful countryside. Helpful and efficient staff. Shame the swimming pool is so tiny.

Cosy and clean
Reviewed By Reza KI arrived in the late afternoon. The key was in the safe and the code was provided in advance. When I entered the room, I was pleasantly surprised as it was more spacious than I expected. The view was really impressive and looked straight onto the castle! The bathroom was clean and they had all the amenities you would expect including a hairdryer! The kitchen was also well equipped and functional too. I had a balcony too, but as it was winter, I didn't really venture out, but in summer, I can imagine, it must be amazing. The bed was comfortable as was the sofa. I also had a little table and chair set to have breakfast or dinner. There were only 2 minor issues; limited wifi that was intermittent and a tricky to operate button on the cooker to adjust the intensity of the heat. The latter is a very minor point and easily fixable. All in all, it was a great few days. Close proximity to everything if you have a car. Would I stay here again? Definitely!

Reviewed By Heni1959Die FeWo # 1 ist auf 2 Personen ausgelegt und hat allen Luxus ( mehr braucht man wirklich nicht!) den man für 2 Wochen Urlaub haben möchte. Die Wohnung hat alles erfüllt was die Ankündigung versprochen hat. Sie ist geschmackvoll und funktional zugleich eingerichtet. Als Ausgangspunkt für Radtouren und Wanderungen zugleich sehr gut geeignet. Ruhe pur ( wenn man Traktoren und Grillen nicht als störend empfindet). Vom Balkon hat man einen Fernblick auf die Schlösser Neuschwanstein und Hohenschwangau. Wunderbar geeignet um „runter zu kommen“. Hier hat jemand mit Liebe zum Detail investiert. Der Preis ist für das Gebotene angemessen.

Reviewed By 929KevinPA great place to stay for visiting the famous royal castles, and the stunning scenery of the German Alps. Very friendly and helpful check-in. An excellent breakfast was provided, with a wide range of fresh items, regularly refreshed. Tables were promptly cleared - something lacking in many other hotels. Good coffee and some great local bread!. Alongside the hotel there is a pleasant terrace for a relaxing drink or meal from the on-site restaurant. This is actually run by a separate company, and table reservation is recommended. We didn't eat there, but the food - with a focus on local produce - did look good. There's some good eating choices in this small village, as well as a very handy supermarket right opposite. It should be noted that the road outside is busy and quite noisy during the day, though it does settle down at night. The bedroom we had though was comfortable and quite spacious. Good wifi is available for free. The hotel can provide a tourism pass giving discounts on local tourist sites as well as free local bus travel - very useful. Good value for money in this part of the world, and we'd happily stay here again.

Hotel Waldman, Convenient, Quaint and Homey
Reviewed By Lucinda TThis small hotel is on the main road (Parkstrasse) between Fussen and Hohenschwangau. It's an easy walk along a tree lined path from the hotel to Hohenschwangau and the castles. The rooms are reasonably priced, they have a restaurant on premises and also a large area with playground equipment for kids. Free parking. So if you have a car you can leave it and avoid the paid parking lot at the entrance to Hohenschwangau or if you don't have a car it's easy to skip the bus and just walk there. My single room was very simple, but more than adequate for my needs. Location and breakfast trumps decor in my mind. It's easy to drive or take the bus to other sights in the area. And a little jewel, Schwansee Lake is across the road and a short walk through the forest. Also, you can see Neuschwanstein Castle from the restaurant and rooms on one side of the hotel. Upgrade your room to one with a view of the castle for just a little more money. Staff is very nice -- I think they like thier jobs.

Reviewed By sussexguyI was researching hotels to visit the 2 King Ludwig castles and thought they were very overpriced near the castle car parks as well as being ridiculously noisy with the daily tourist hordes, I came across the Hanselewirt in nearby Schwangau about a 2km drive to the castles - OK if you have a car and knowing that car park fee is E7 which you can easily afford from your E50+ saving on your hotel cost. Had a lovely big double room for single traveller on the top floor. Overlooked peaceful village st Dinner was Wienerschnitzel at very low cost, Great service. Really top value,

Worst experience ever!!!
Reviewed By Mario CBedbugs everywhere!!! One of the worst experiences ever. No overnight staff so it was almost impossible to get a hold of the manager to get a different room. No apology!!! Manager blamed the bedbugs on the "Chinese guests"!!!

Our cozy country lodge is located in Schwangau, home of the castles Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau. Enjoy the GUGLHUPF specialties such as home-baked bread and home-made marmelade at the delicious breakfast buffet every morning. Despite the central location (distance to the castles approx. 2 Km, to the austrian border about 3 km) all rooms are very quiet and comfortably equipped with bathroom, king-sized bed and high-quality wood furniture as well as balcony/ terrace, TV and telephone. Wifi is complimentary. Your hosts Monika and her children Daniel and Ulrike are looking forward to your stay!

Reviewed By HugoD33Excellent location if you are planning to visit the Castle Neuschweinstein. Their staff is very kind and efficient. Free parking in front of the hotel, rooms are clean and comfortable, some of them with a view to the castle. Breakfast is good, I just didn’t like the curtain in the shower
