Reviewed By neilpM3206PORealize you are on an island lost in time. American standard quality simply is not there. I wanted to give this place a 1 star at first. but in the end I nearly opted 5. In the end the food drove it down. The island is full of run down hotels and houses and places long past their prime. The famous strip of beach in the center is over crowded and only one decent place to eat and sleep. The Sol Carib Campo is an easy 15 minute drive from that craziness. The hotel is like a park carved out of a side of a hill in the jungle. It is slightly dated but you have to appreciate how hard they are trying. The staff is clearly well trained (try to get in or get served without a mask - a friendly but stern reminder will be given). There is no trash anywhere ans people seem to be constantly cleaning and making improvements (can not say that for most of the island). The rooms are older but extremely comfortable bed. Water is warm. It is true there is an odd smell to the water. It's the high surpher content in the local drinking water bot sewage. The front staff is friendly but a little slow to check in - no real issue. The beach is on but honestly a lot cleaner than any other beach around. The pools are all nice especially the main pool. Note bring hood shoes you will be hiking up ans down the hills and stairs a lot. I mean a lot! The main draw back is the food - it's about the same quality as my kids get when they go to summer camp. Nothing bad or harmful but meh. The views - some of the best around In the end my family agrees it would be our first pick of / when we return

Relaxing few days
Reviewed By Lisa BHad a very nice and relaxing stay here. Loved the relaxing atmosphere. Beach is incredible. Nice to relax on the deck in the evening. Food at the restaurant is also very good! The room itself is small, but we didn’t spend much time there anyway. Also LOVED the beach dogs!! Thanks for a relaxing stay!

Reviewed By DBankTuluaHotel is dirty, rooms are dirty, staff is rude, food is OK, don’t go to this place. You will get rush out of the restaurants. They’re is no beach. No transportation between hotels anymore. Unable to make reservations for restaurants. Entertainment is OK

Reviewed By emoraf2012Por recomendación de un conocido nos hospedamos en uno de los 4 apartamentos que tiene Luzmila en frente de una de las mejores playas del sector San Luis. Al llegar encontramos las comodidades que buscábamos: un buen aire acondicionado, una buena cama, baño y una pequeña cocina. Si tu plan es poder descansar tranquilamente, ahorrar en alojamiento y comidas en restaurantes y ser bien atendido, los apartamentos de Sound Bay son una muy buena opción para ti y tus acompañantes. La amabilidad y dedicación que Luzmila nos brindó y sus asesorías sobre qué hacer y qué no hacer durante nuestra primera visita a la isla nos ahorró mucho tiempo, dinero e hicieron de nuestra estadía unas vacaciones en familia inolvidables. Mil gracias y esperamos volver pronto!

Reviewed By alchtgNous avions prévu d’y rester deux nuits, cela a vite été écourté. En arrivant devant l’établissement, musique à fond dans l’épicerie du rez-de-chaussée, vraiment à fond. On nous dit que ça ne durera pas : résultat musique de 09:00 à 23:00 non stop alors qu’il n’y a personne dans ce “bar”. Le routard nous parle d’appartements “particulièrement modernes”, ils doivent être sur une autre planète : la deco se résume à des chaises et tables basses en plastique agrémentées de fausses plantes. Ensuite “une cuisine américaine avec tout ce qu’il faut pour cuisiner” : clairement rien pour cuisiner, la gazinière manque de nous brûler, rien en nécessaire de base de cuisine (sel, poivre, huile, ... on ne demandait pas grand chose). La chambre ne montre rien de mieux : pas de lampes de chevet, donne directement sur la route où s’arrêtent les camions, motos, voiturettes de golf, ... pour se ravitailler à ladite épicerie donc imaginez le bruit, un wifi qui ne passe pas du tout, la chambre donne sur une décharge où se côtoient détritus et chevaux sauvages. La salle de bain est tout aussi défaillante, l’ampoule manque de s’éteindre, le ménage n’a pas été fait (comme dans le reste de l’appartement) et se mêlent les cheveux et le sable des anciens occupants. On n’a même pas profité de la plage “sauvage” tellement le lieu nous a dégoûté. Il faut dire qu’en plus San Luis ne fait pas rêver quand on est touriste. On espère vivement que le routard prendra la peine de visiter les établissements avant de les conseiller. PS : Antonio qui gérait l’établissent était “so sorry” mais n’a même pas proposé un dédommagement.

Es un sitio tranquilo, limpio, cómodo, queda cerca de la playa de Rocky Cay, y es de fácil acceso para llegar a las otras playas y al centro.
