Fantastic Beach Front Hotel!!!

I rented two three bedroom apartments for a family vacation in May. The hotel is beautiful, clean and well maintained. Everything was perfect from the bottled water provided, to the clear/clean pool and gorgeously landscaped grounds. The made to order breakfasts were outstanding! They also had plenty of fresh fruit, pastries, breads and freshly made juices. All of the staff were friendly, helpful and professional. I travel several times a year and frequently stay at high end hotels, this one is a gem, I highly recommend them!

We had a wonderful extended stay at Sublime! The property was super tranquil and the beach is truly a sight to see. The apartment style rooms are kept very clean and and offer plenty of space with a full kitchen. We enjoyed the balcony in the evenings overlooking the hotel grounds. The food was delicious and fresh, and the kitchen offers vegan options, which were much appreciated. Above all, the service was impeccable! Special mention to Angel and Ronny who work the beach and Rudy at the front desk. Looking forward to our next stay soon! William P.

Lovely spring break

Reviewed By Vicki86001

This was our first trip to the DR and we wanted to avoid the large all-inclusive resorts. My husband and I stayed 6 nights with our 14 year old daughter. We stayed in an independent villa with a small plunge pool. We flew into Santa Domingo and hired a diver, Marcos, who Sarah arranged. I would highly recommend doing this. We was an excellent, safe driver and spoke perfect English, but also was very kind in letting me practice my Spanish. He was very tolerant in listening to and answering my husband’s multitude questions. The food at the hotel was very good. We also enjoyed having a kitchen to cook our own breakfasts as needed. It is a short walk to a very lovely beach with calm waters (Playita). A short walk to restaurants and shops if you need to buy groceries or essentials. One day we took an ATV ride to Playa Rincon and Playa Bremmen. I rode with Alfredo from the hotel and my husband and daughter rode on another ATV. Would also recommend doing this day trip. Everyone at the hotel was very friendly, professional, and kind. It would serve you well to know a little Spanish, but all the staff were very patient with my limited Spanish. We felt very safe in the hotel, in the town of Las Galeras, walking to the beach and also at all the beaches. Sarah, the owner was a delight to work with. I didn’t catch everyone’s names, but also enjoyed Alfredo and Luis Miguel. Beautiful grounds and very friendly people everywhere we went.

Dissatisfied and disappointing

Reviewed By darlenec904

I was so excited to bring my husband here to experience for the first time a all inclusive 5 star resort. I was disappointed at the quality of the food. One morning My kids wanted pancakes....the pancakes where undercooked and hard. The white rice was oily. The fish salty. I was told the wine comes in a bag..which makes sense why it tastes horrible. To make it short the food is not great at all. I was also upset that they hosted one of their night shows but there was not enough chairs so we ended up sitting on the floor with our kids. When I asked front desk and Public relations if they could bring over plastic chairs from the other entertainment areas they said no. I told them it's very disappointing to know that my family and I paid for luxury 5 star service and they have us sitting on the floor when they can clearly make an exception to accommodate their guests. So overall friends I wouldn't see this resort as a 5 star resort I would come with the expectation of a esthetically appealing resort on the outside but in reality more of a 2 or 2.5 star resort. Most of the staff is very nice. Specially entertainment staff and house keeping. Restaurant staff not so friendly. Sincerely room 26211 Thanks

Friendly staff!

Reviewed By travelagentlakeisha

This trip was absolutely amazing. I'm so glad that we stayed outside of the high tourist areas like Punta Cana and La Romana. We decided on Las Terrenas and it was fantastic. The hotel is close to many many restaurants but also has one of their own. El Torro (sp?) had a pretty good menu of fresh fish and seafood as well as many other common menu items. There is a bar on the beach and right near the front of the hotel for drinks and hanging out. The hotel had breakfast every morning with a variety of local dishes and fresh fruit. There was also an omelet/egg station. The staff at the front desk and bars were friendly, even in the spa. I had a hard time because I didn't speak Spanish very well but my friend is fluent so I'm glad she was with me. The villa/apartment was nice and comfortable. We had a 2 bedroom, 2 bath. One has a king bed and the other had two twin beds. There is ample seating in the living area and outdoors on the patio. Kitchen was equipped if you wanted to cook dinner. Also a water cooler is provided. The spa, pool, and other areas were also nice. Parking is bad, or maybe I should say the area is small, but we were always able to find somewhere to park on the property. There is an armed security guard after dark. That scared me but also assured me. Overall, great stay. Would stay here again if ever in Las Terrenas.

Villa Serenity is where to go if you’re not into big resorts but you are into beautiful grounds by the sea, morning yoga, sipping fresh squeezed juice under the Caribbean sun, and want a break from whatever your daily grind is. The owners had a vision and the good taste to build the villa in traditional West Indies style. Rooms are airy and designed to catch sea breezes. Hammocks dangle on the balconies. It’s not hard to imagine yourself as well-to-do visitor the the Caribbean of the 17th or 18th century, albeit with a mini fridge and A/C. The small but lively town of Las Galeras is walking distance from the hotel. You can hire a boat to pick you up from the hotel and drop you off at Playa Rincon for a beach day.

relaxed but outdated

We left Belgium and arived on may the 22th. After a 3 hour drive we checked in. We booked premium but the next morning I noticed we did not aquire the room we requested. We got a double deluxe seaview room. Time to call our travel agent, She arived the next day and got us a bungalow It was a little larger but a bit overcome. the people are friendly but not very accomadating. The premium rooms we booked were nort available Because it was low season. The premium bar at the premium pool was closed and all premium drinks were under the brand name Classico. The restaurants were only open on certain days and this was not announced. The sportbars was closed and rundown same as the restaurant at the beach. The animation is available when there are enough people. Sadly the animation team did not anounce this and did not warn people where and when it could happen. I booked especially for this, I cannot keep stil very long. The animation was short and uninspired. Mostly they were entertaining themselves Sometimes even arguing among themselves. There is a list behind the towelservice but just with the hours. Sadly he animation team barely showed up on time. The food is limited with the same food served day after day Be there as early as possible or you might find some food missing. The food in the restaurants are just a tad better but lack flavour or seasoning. If your late some food may be served tepid or cold. Don't expect fries we only saw them once. For some reason our electricity failed twice and the signal of our television was lost as well once. Getting info at the lobby can be tiresome for in the evening the persons are inexperienced. Keycards can be a hassle they loose their magnetism very fast. had to run to the lobby at least every other day to get them to work again. Complaining seems to make them surly. Now some good things about this place. Very nice and long beach, Beautifull garden, Relaxed atmosphere. Snorkeling is limited but you can see some fish if your patient. I saw barracudas ,seaturtles seaurchins, seaanemone and some starfish. There are some crabs as well.

Disappointing stay. No what we expected

Reviewed By S5084BGkarlac

My fiancée and I were for the second time in Las Terrenas and we were very disappointed. It was a short trip of three nights. Pros The hotel is beautiful and very comfortable. It’s in a great location near by beautiful beaches. We had a deluxe suite with terrace which was nice and decent. Cons The arrival day after a long trip we decided to go to the rooftop jacuzzi and we realized it was dirty and all the chairs were covered by birds dropping. We understood it was because we went aroun 5 PM and let the front desk know, Also the jacuzzi was off and it supposed to be on until 8pm even we told them they didn’t turn it on. The food was my biggest disappointment no flavor at all. It could be better and the amount relatively small for the prices. Only have 4 breakfasts options available. The menu was poorly made. Once we asked for chocolate pancakes and came with oats which was not described in the menu. The room was cleaned everyday but they didn’t restock the fridge and coffee capsule since the arrival day. The hand shower didn’t work and the hot water didn’t work properly most of the time. They don’t have steamers. We asked for an iron and they brought it without the ironing board. It’s not what you see on social media. I guess we had high expectations that they couldn’t succeed It could be better if they take care of the property and offer what you paid for. It’s beautiful place but just that. It’s not what you see on social media. I guess we had high expectations that they couldn’t succeed.
