The Woodview Inn

The Woodview Villa (Inn) was a private dwelling until April 1946 when it was taken over by the partnership of Daniel P. Delaney and William F. Koepke who began running it as an Inn. Subsequently, Mr. Delaney and his wife took full ownership and added the Garden Suites in the early 1950's. Shortly after, the Inn and Restaurant were given the name ' The Athlone Inn and Restaurant', which remained the name until closing in 2014. The Woodview is a 10 room Inn, which includes breakfast with every night stay. Today your hosts, John and Steve, give a nod to this grand lady's former history and glory by celebrating her original name. Welcome to The Woodview Inn.

Best Inn Ever!

Reviewed By 210jacquier

We recently had the pleasure of staying at The Woodview Inn. What a gem! John and Steve are the most engaging and involved innkeepers I have ever met, always visible and present to ensure your stay is top-notch. Robin at the Front Desk is lovely and welcoming. Although we arrived when a party of 12 was checking in, she managed to take that quick moment to greet us and make us feel welcome. All of the staff were warm and professional. We stayed in Garden Suite #1, adjacent to the main inn. King bed with a comfortable pull out bed and a full kitchenette. Never have I been in a room in my travels where you don't find something askew, even if it is the most minimal. Not here. Impeccabily clean with attention to detail a priority. In the morning we had a lovely cooler outside our door chock a block full with fresh fruit, yogurt, orange juice, Proseco, granola bars and croissant sandwiches. The onsite restaurant, Graydon's ......WOW!! The food is exceptional. We had the filet mignon and ribs...both accompanied with seasonal vegetables and perfectly cooked! The filet mignon was cooked to perfection and melted in your mouth. The ribs....best ever. A generous portion even with the 1/2 rack and the meat fell off the bone. The homemade sauce.....spectacular....wish they bottled it for sale. We started with the gourmet onion rings ( to die for ) and the seared Ahi tuna salad ( a special that evening). We will definitely be back, and will be certain to recommend The Woodview Inn as a great place to relax while visiting the Kingston-Gananoque area.

Very pleasant overnight stay

Reviewed By William K

We decided to stay at this hotel on our way to Montreal. We were greeted by a very pleasant young man. We asked for a room on the side away from the 401 highway, and got a small suite that was just perfect. The bed was comfortable, the room was well appointed and clean. The bathroom was nice too. We had a very restful sleep, and had a very substantial complimentary breakfast the next morning. We'll definitely return to this hotel again.

I can’t say enough on how much we enjoyed it. Loved meeting the other guests that were in the B&B during breakfast as well. We will definitely be back for another stay. Highly recommend staying here. Ladies weekend away

Reviewed By 426DawnB

I stayed at the Inn as a group for a ladies weekend away. When we booked our two rooms, we requested adjoining rooms is possible. When we arrived, we our rooms weren't even close together. One room was so small that the pull out bed sat onto of the foot of the real bed, so we requested a room together and one that could accommodate three people comfortably. We were placed in adjoining rooms. There was much more space. There was, however, a tub in room next to the bed that leaked from the faucet. We told the staff this upon our arrival. Nobody came to assess it. It wasn't just a drip, it was a steady stream of water that ran all weekend. It was running loud enough to wake us up over night. By the time we left, on Sunday, the floor from the tub to the bed was soaked. The food at Jake's was not good. Lucy at the reception desk is incredibly rude. I enjoyed my stay even with the above mentioned, however dealing with her is what is giving this review one, and if I could give zero, I would. I have been working in client relations for over 20 years, and the way I was treated is completely unacceptable.

Better than we could have imagined!

Reviewed By Powderkeg155019

The hotel is right by the Brockville waterfront, in the heart of everything. It's an old building, with its own character. They emailed us the outside door code, so we were able to enter the building and go up to our room on our own. There doesn't seem to be a front desk, but that wasn't an issue. The inside of the hotel is an eclectic mixture of vintage decor carefully matched with newer items. We were delighted with the look and feel of our "Romeo and Juliet" suite. There were so many thoughtful and practical touches. The full kitchen was well equipped and we could easily see how comfortable it would have been to stay longer. There was a large balcony with a barbecue, that we would have taken advantage of if time permitted. The staff were responsive and offered exceptional hospitality. We were genuinely surprised by the lengths they went to, to make our stay enjoyable. We have no hesitation strongly recommending the Noble Suites, and we ourselves plan to return!

He was professional, very kind, accommodating and friendly to deal with, thanks Dave. When I checked in, I was met by Megan who checked me in. She was very friendly,..took her time with me,..was very professional and kind to me. Always great to walk into this hotel,..as it is like GOING HOME. They always make us feel very welcome and like we are the only guests,..thanks Megan and Dave. Our room was very clean and had everything we could need or want for our one night stay. There was no issue at all,.. The internet worked well,..the bed was comfortable,..the noise level during the night was just about nil,...and we had a wonderful night. We had a lovely breakfast in the morning which included all you could need or ask for. I took it to our room and Mona was very accomodating in giving me a tray. We had our service dog with us so it was easier for us this way. They had lovely hot scrambled eggs, sausages and hashbrown potatoes. Along with that there is a variety of breads to toast, cereal, muffins, fruit, cookies, juices, tea and coffees, granola bars, yogourt and everything was served nicely and clean. Mona runs a tight ship in the kitchen,..everything was well presented, clean and plenty for everyone. Thanks Mona,..I loved our chat as well,.. You were very friendly and I enjoyed speaking with you. All in all,..this is the ONLY hotel we stay when in the Smiths Falls area for all the above reasons. Thanks folks,..we will see you all again for sure.

If I had known such a wonderful accommodation existed in previous Montreal/Toronto trips I would have made a point of breaking up some of those drives to stay here. Jacques is a host who cares about his guests as well as the Inn he clearly loves. It is tastefully furnished but neither stuffy nor cluttered. While not all the bedroom windows opened there was air-conditioning.so there was no problem getting a good sleep. We enjoyed our breakfast in the lovely garden. Days later I still have strong happy memories of my stay.
