Reviewed By Luna0oThe room was really nice, cozy and clean; there was also a kettle with coffe and tea. Bathrooom with bathtub (always a bonus) and hair dryer. The staff was really nice and ready to answer every possible requests. They have a restaurant in hotel ( losed on Sunday) but there are also a lot of places to eat nearby, and the town center is only a 15-minutes walking away. Pool and sauna at the 5th floor and there also vending machines at every floor. The only thing I dont recommend is the vegetarian Flammkuchen (see picture). They usually serve it at breakfast but I ordered it for lunch because the restaurant was closed. It wasnt all bad I guess, it just... It wasnt nothing special. They could have added more vegetables or a sauce.

Reviewed By chiqui-7I selected this hotel based on trip advisor reviews and was not disappointed. The hotel is new, spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable. Reception was friendly and professional. The rooms are modern, everything functions well and is high tech. Breakfast is excellent with a full range of selections. The price to value ratio is top value. The parking directly outside is very convenient. I can recommend this hotel.

Reviewed By Peter SSupposing one has a reduction from Booking.com. At an excellent location on the German side for visiting Strasbourg in France. Very nice old building and restaurant, but the food prices are a bit on the expensive side. However, the quality is excellent. Staff is friendly and there's the occasional person able to speak EN (but not alway available). Some noise was sometimes heard from neighbours at night. My single room was huge, guessing from distances between doors, double rooms must be even bigger, so no lack of space. Practically everything is provided.

Family run Gasthaus very pleasant

The room is spacious, the duvets are warm and cozy and the rooms were kept neat and tidy every day. The bathroom is a bit small, but it's all kept spotless and everything worked as expected. As a special treat, the hostess put out easter chocolates and eggs for us as it was the Easter weekend. The bar and restaurant are very nice. They have a daily special menu and like most places you're better off ordering off the daily menu as it's fresher. It was Asparagus season, so there were lots of choices. The beer selection was pretty good but the locals may have hit on something as they all seem to order small Pils because it "tastes fresher". I tried some of the other beers and maybe they are right. The food was elegantly prepared, the salads were excellent, the dressing was really good. Perhaps the food was a bit expensive, but there were many locals who came in while we were there and the choice was really impressive given how small the town was. One unfortunate was that we would have loved to use the Biergarten, however the weather did not cooperate. Nico and Daniela were very available and we chatted with them many times. They are really, really nice people and we're not surprised that they get so much support from their neighborhood. All the staff were nice to us, especially our server Kirstin, who was so patient with us and helped us with our German and more. If you'd like the real Gasthaus experience when visiting Offenburg, you will really appreciate choosing this lodging. We will definitely be back the next time we're in the area.

In late 2014 the city hotel Haus Zauberflote (,,Magic flute") opens in Offenburg. The listed building was built in 1862 and since then has operated as a guesthouse. In 2014 the premises have been under renovation and modernization by owner Willi Schoellmann. The Haus Zauberflote (,,Magic flute") offers 7 Double rooms and one Suite, a restaurant, cafe, bar, a wine cellar, a small meeting room for up to twenty people: Kaltloch-Zimmer (,,The cold hole room"), and a garage gallery. Renowned artists such as Stefan Strumbel, OliverRath, Blek le rat, Stefan Marx and Herr von Eden have been engaged to add a unique special flair to the to the interior decoration. Each room is individually styled and lovingly furnished with attention to detail, and all rooms have a bathroom, minibar and free wi-fi access.
Funky styling and friendly staff but big drawbacks
Reviewed By JustMBThe location is great and staff are friendly. We booked very short notice so didn’t do much research. The rooms are very funky but also pretty basic - there is no TV for instance. The hotel is right next to the railway line and even if you have a room facing the opposite site, the rumble from the passing trains will wake you. Cost was 115 Euro for the night without breakfast. The shower is great - though no bathtub and there’s no door to the bathroom, just a curtain so make sure your comfortable with whoever you’re staying in the room.

Don't expect sleep if it's warm
Reviewed By Reisehund22No AC, no problem, just sleep with the windows open. Oh wait, there's a bar just outside that actually waits till midnight to start blasting music. Do you remember Natalie Imbruglia? Want to hear drunk girls singing along to her one hit at 2am? Would you like all the cigarette smoke to drift in because with not even so much as a fan the room gets instantly stuffy within minutes of closing the windows? I want to cry I'm so tired and it feels like trying to sleep in a bar. I'm tempted to cancel my whole trip since I don't see how I can enjoy Europa Park without sleep. Money competely wasted.
