Charm of a prison cell
Reviewed By J0rnHI stayed at the hotel for a night on a business trip. The place/room had the charm of a prison cell. So, I turned off the lights and slept. Breakfast was rather nice and tasty. I would not stay here again unless there is a major renovation of the place.

Old Hotel. Unresponsible staff
Reviewed By Marseda HMe and my husband stayed at Leonardo Hotel Monchengladbach for one night (forntunately). We arrived at 12 o'clock pm. The guy at the reception told us the price, we made the payment, and did not have a receipt. Having our little daughter 3 months old, we did not think of the receipt, and went at the room. The room was spacious, but old and smellt like old. The pillows...my god they looked like they were filled with pieces of left clothes. All night could'nt sleep because of some insects making a creepy noise under the bad. Sincerly, paid 104€ to sleep with insects under the bad. And if this was not enough, when we went at the reception te check out, the lady told us 'you have to make the payment, because you did not pay'. What in earth...my husband stayed 15 min waiting, and our infant waiting in the car, so that 'that kind guy' could explain to her coworker that he had took the money!!!! We have traveled many many places, but never had a experience like this!! Shame.

Reviewed By tmg_travellerStayed for one night at the Elisenhof hotel and it is a very well kept hotel that is typical of smaller hotels in Germany. The room was clean, neat and provided a small mini bar at no charge. Good beds but no air conditioning but with a big fan in the room it was very comfortable. Service was polite and English was spoken.

Concrete, industrial feeling combined with football extra’s like locker room benches, and the greatest moments in the history of Borussia Mönchengladbach. Great view in every room as well. Not only for football fans. This is a great place to stay the night.

Reviewed By pierfabi0fIt was all ok. We didn’t have any kind of problem to reach the building. It’s located only 500 from main station. The staff was gently and polite. The room tidy and the beds quite comfortable. I recommend it!

Furnished with modern style, clean, and equipped with all the features that, today, are needed for travelers. One bad thing I found, is the noise that comes from outside. Unfortunately the rooms are not sufficiently soundproofed. I therefore recommend that you bring some ear plugs. Restaurant: The restaurant was a pleasant surprise. The proposed food is really good. I noticed that the restaurant was frequented by many people and couples. The environment is also very suitable for lunches and dinners with friends and lovers. The service of the staff is good and professional. There are young boys and girls, but very good ones. The distance from the center is short. Prices: fair

Reviewed By tan1415We wanted to find a cheap stay at a hotel in Mönchengladbach. Normally mcdreams is the choice…sub 50€ with free parking. This is quite basic and no frills 3 star accommodation. But in Germany 3 stars means a lot…even when basic. It’s clean, great beds, bathroom … great price quality. While looking I got a special offer for this hotel on hotels.com. 50€ per room per night. This hotel has what I call the trifecta. Great price, free parking and free breakfast. But it was so so much better thans expected. To be honest the pictures on the website didn’t do this hotel any justice at all. We almost cancelled because it looks dated and with shabby bathroom. Let’s do the bad first. The floor in the room…looks very shiny, plasticky. But it was meticulously clean and walking on it is beer than on the carpets that just doesn’t feel clean enough in older hotels. The bathroom I must say feel and looks old. That’s due to the white tiles and bathtub I guess. But bathroom was meticulously clean and all in working order. The bath is really not so functional, quite high. So elderly or less flexible persons must be careful when getting in or out from bath. But great if you have a baby or kids I guess. In our room the shower didn’t have a thermostat and the water temperature moved around a bit…from coldish to too hot…and everything in between. That’s a negative, but water pressure was good. But the rest was much much better then expected. First of all free parking underneath the hotel. But I think the street is free parking too. Location is in upper residential area so feels really safe in the street. Weirdly you can enter the hotel via the garage…but the door doesn’t open from the outside. Also no chance to call reception topen it. This means when you arrive you need to walk outside on quite a steep climb to enter hotel at reception. The rooms as I mentioned was very clean and quite spacious. There is a good working TV. Beds are great. Sadly two singles, but at 90cm that’s a good width. You get two pillows and there is plenty of plugs to use. For the summer..unfortunately no AC. What really sets this place apart is the amenities provided. It shames 4/5 star hotels. From toothbrushes, shaving kit, toilet wet wipes, to sewing and even a shoeshine kit.wow. The best I saved the best for last. The free breakfast. We got a full German breakfast. The downside it was at the nearby elisenhof hotel. The good thing….It was top quality breakfast. In 5 star hotels I have had breakfast with more choice, but it was not so tasty or of such quality. Don’t get me wrong. It had everything.bacon. Sausage, 2 types scrambled egg, salmon, and the usual continental spread. The breads was great and cold cuts with local specialty always good. The juice bar was tops with fresh squeezed OJ machine. A very satisfying start of the day. I cant recommend this place enough. The price quality king..even if without the extra discount.
