Reviewed By tonytD9568SZI am not in the habit bubbling over with incredible reviews for hotels or restaurants but Las Terrazas de Dana Boutique Lodge is worth the effort. David (one of the owners) has created an amazing place . Just outside of Mindo ($2 taxi ride) it offers views of surrounding mountains, walking distance to waterfall hikes using the Tarabita cable car) 15-20 min walk into Mindo. The staff offers incredible service (even cleaned up our hiking boots after a muddy hike). David is a wealth of information about Mindo, Ecuador and the Galapagos (Dana Tours). He provided a really good driver with a comfortable SUV at a reasonable rate for airport pick up as well as hooking us up with Julia -one of the best bird guides in the greater area. I would rate the food provided as good ( he is in the middle of building a new restaurant next to the pool. The rooms (could be all ) have a great view of the mountains. They're spotless and roomy-beds are very comfortable. Can you tell we really liked this place?!

It's a gorgeous lodge with amazing views, beautiful plants and yummy food. The owners' daughter Sabina is a true gem. She was extremely helpful to us while we were there. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Our 4 nights at Mindo Coffee Lodge & Spa were perfect! Our room was well appointed and in great condition. From our outdoor patio - we heard the rushing Mindo River while enjoying local birds and the rolling mist over the mountains. The staff arranged both a knowledgeable Guide for a birding adventure as well as a delicious and delightful cooking lesson - at the Hosteria. Overall we totally enjoyed our stay - even as the weather was not so great!

A small, unique and charming guest house with fantastic views over the Mindo Valley. All rooms are en suite, handmade wooden furnishings, comfortable mattresses. Hot water, parking, fast wifi and breakfast included. The staff can help with activities to do in and around Mindo and throughout Ecuador. World class bird watching can be enjoyed without even leaving your room.

Reviewed By 907cleapMy daughter and I stayed with Fernando at Casa de Vista Alta and it was the cherry on top of our wonderful trip to Ecuador! Sitting on their terrace felt like being in a green velvet jewel box surrounded by colorful cloud forest birds! We were greeted by Toucans, hummingbirds and very friendly staff! Both our fish dinners were memorable, (arguable the best we had in a month in Ecuador) and full breakfasts, with fresh scones to top it all, were outstanding too. Nothing was too much for Fernando and his always smiling staff, from checking bus timetables, to arranging transfers to the airport. It was wonderful having a host and owner who speaks such perfect English and is so engaging. He even took us on a birding hike in the forest, which was a real treat. A birders paradise!!! The room was perfect, with super comfy beds and pillows, and a great hot shower too. We loved all the spoils, the chats and the genersl general atmosphere. Casa de Piedra is a paradise. A lodge with an unbeatable location, facing the Canchupí River, just 3 minutes walk from the center of Mindo. Surrounded by beautiful gardens with exotic plants & fruit trees, the inn offers an outdoor pool, a playground with billiards & foosball, a Bamboo Lounge for delicious cocktails, coffees & teas. There is also a small restaurant with snacks, & meals.

Reviewed By sue_trav88We stayed for 2 nights in a wonderfull bungalow, just as seen in the pictures. The grounds are beautiful. It is a very relaxing and calming place. The host was friendly and assisted us in arranging the tours and activities we wanted to do. The included breakfast was delicious. For a small fee they did most of our laundry. WiFi is available in the common areas.

Reviewed By johnhW410XVWe had a lovely stay at the cabin. It felt relaxing and private. The included breakfast was great and filling. We also had excellent suggestions for activities from the owners and they helped book these activities and transport which was super nice.

Reviewed By 502fersWe went to La Roulotte for lunch and had an amazing time, walking the labyrinth and enjoying the grounds full of birds that you can also see from the restaurant while you are eating, the food was really good, they have swiss inspired menu with very good options everything was delicious. The pizza is really good but also the other dishes. The service was very friendly and warm. The place is very cozy. We will definitely come back soon to stay in their roulottes and enjoy the amazing food!

Reviewed By Colibri_GrandeMindo is well-known to birders and is indeed a great place to visit cloud forests and small reserves with tons of tanagers and hummingbirds etc. In addition to birders, Mindo also attracts rafters and other tourists. There are plenty of places to stay in town, but that might not be for everyone, and for those people,there's Sachatamia. It;s not "just for birders", but it is "great for birders." Sachatamia is maybe ten-fifteen minutes outside of Mindo center, and is set on a gorgeous property consisting of cloud forests and areas undergoing reforestation, adjoining a large protected forest. It consists of a main building for dining, reception, and comfortable seating for groups to have drinks or coffee etc. In the main building there are also rooms upstairs, in addition to detached cabins further into the property. When we arrived it was pouring rain and the staff very considerately offered us a room in the main building to avoid the torrent. We took a look at the rooms, which were nice, but decided to keep our cabin, mainly becasue the steps going up to the rooms are a bit steep. Maybe we're overly cautious, but we always think of what would happen if one of us got hurt, and that would be No More Trip. So despite the rain, we chose to stay in our cabin suite. The cabins are actually divided into two separate suites, so technically we had a half a cabin, but it is still roomy enough for our stuff and us. There's nothing fancy but it's cozy and clean and everything works. In addition to a wonderful early AM bird blind, there are numerous hummingbird feeders on the property, that in turn attract tons of hummingbirds. Nothing too unusual for Mindo, but it's a gorgeous setting and the staff were nice enough to set us up with a table so my wife and I - and our guide/friend Nelson - could have lunch and drinks with the birds. We loved it! And in fact, the staff there are what made Sachatamia not just a nice place to stay; they made it a wonderful place to stay! It's always the case: Service (or lack thereof) always makes the difference between properties, at any price point. Sachatamia is not a luxury property, but it is a beautiful property, with good dining, great location, and a wonderful group of people there to make your visit to Mindo unforgettable. We loved our time at Sachatamia, and would happily revisit it in the future. Thank you everyone!

Reviewed By LauraTravelWriterWe had a great stay at this lovely little eco-lodge. Our room was comfy, tastefully decorated, and had its own private terrace. The bar-restaurant area is well-designed and welcoming. We enjoyed a delicious and plentiful complimentary breakfast, were able to order some top-notch wine (a good glass of wine is not that easy to find in Mindo) and Sébastian, the owner, was very kind and flexible with our needs.
