A good hotel but!

Although most rooms have a lake view, ours on the corner of the property and on the first floor was somewhat restricted by tall trees. One other problem was that we were above the car park, which seem to have deliveries being made at between 4 and 6pm every morning. The car park also backed on to the terrace where people continued drinking till past midnight and making a lot of noise on a couple of occassions when they should have moved inside at 11pm. The management seemed weak in imposing this regulation. The breakfast/dining room was very nice apart from the fact that nobody seemed to want to put on the air conditioning or open windows. With 30 degree + tempertures outside,sitting through 5 courses became very uncomfortable. Overall though a very nice hotel with good facilities, good food, attentive staff and a great position for exploring the Carinthia region. British tour companies take note!

Reviewed By Marco-NB-PoloA beautiful little hotel, family owned with attentive staff, clean classic rooms, in the middle of the village. The food is good, try to have it on the outside if weather permits. Parking is free and on premise. We were given a very nice room with lake view.

Reviewed By hirnographalthough the weather was terrible we enjoyed our beautiful suite with fantastic 270° views to the lake and the alps. as we travelled with two girls we were not allowed to enjoy the heated outdoorpool (what we of course understand although there were no guests around in the area). in summertime there is a small space at the lake for the kids to enjoy. breakfast was good and the ladies at the reception kind and funny.

Reviewed By woschu1030Apartment clean and very nice, great view of the lake, good breakfast, perfect service, very helpful staff. Only problem was the 'beach', as there is the main road with heavy traffic between the Pension and the 'beach'. Also we did not know that the 'beach' isself is justa very narrow and small strip, hardly to find space when many people are there. Also no space at the beach for children.

Pension zum Mühlrad in fisher village Dellach at the lake of Millstatt, 200 m to the beach, the bicycle- road around the lake is only 30 m away from our hotel, walking tours possible direct from the hotel up to the mountains in a high of 2000 m. Beach with jumping tower, slides for the kids, animation program, possibility to rent boats and ship ridding just 200 m away from our hotel. Parking place direct at the hotel. New 4 garage.
Nice place to stay at the Millstätter See

The place is very quiet, and also aside from the center of Millstatt, so ideal for somebody who is looking for relax, but not for people who want als to enjoy social life (especially night life). Small - but very good breakfast :)

Reviewed By charlotte70somersetWhat a fabulous family friendly hotel in the most stunning location looking out towards the lake. We had a wonderful week skiing from this hotel. It was such a pleasure to come back each day to afternoon tea, in the garden enjoying the views while the kids played on the fun sledging slope. Our 5 course dinner every night was just delicious.The children always enjoyed their meals. It was the most relaxing hotel, and we loved the pool and spa enjoying the views. The plunge pool water fall was really special. We highly recommend the 5 km sledge trip with the manager at the end of the week. We were taken up by tractor taxi and then had the most magical experience wizzing down-what fun! Thank you. We had access from here to such a great range of runs-on all levels. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly-Thank you,

Beautiful hotel with potential for more....
Reviewed By MandiiW2020We stayed at the end of August 2020 with our 2 children. We booked a family room with 2 bedrooms, it had a side view of the lake. Although the furniture was very "1980s", it was clean and large, the mattresses and bedding were perfect. The floors, however, are VERY loud and we were rudely awoken one night by the guests above us stomping around at 1am for an hour! There is a small reception with a bar, very clean and comfortable, and the staff were very polite and helpful. Breakfast is a buffet, with a good variety. We only had dinner once there, they offer salad, starter, soup, a choice of 3 main courses and dessert. Drinks are extra and reasonably priced. The standard of food was good. The restaurant also has the 1980s vibe going on but it is clean and, especially important at the moment, the tables were well spaced apart and the staff wore face masks to serve. Outside there is a swimming pool and sun loungers, it would have been nice if there had been a drinks service outside! The garden on the other side of the hotel was not in use, it could certainly be utilised to offer sports or activities to the guests. There is plenty of on site parking, and a layby just in front of the hotel. The hotel itself is a wonderful building, full of character and fabulous views of the lake, in a quiet location. It's also just a few minutes walk from the waterfront and 5 minutes from the centre. A lovely hotel with the potential for more with a bit of investment. We would definitely go back but opt for a room at the front of the hotel on a higher floor to be able to make the most of the wonderful views!
