Reviewed By JonDoe04134A very pleasant centrally located hotel. Large room but there was no way to adjust the temperature which we felt was a bit too low. Comfortable bed with several different cushions. The safebox didn't work and the was no hand soap, only shampoo instead. Great breakfast with a view and a lot of choice. Sadly, the employee apparently responsible for the breakfast was extremely rude towards other colleagues in front of the guests which made them visibly stressed. I'd rather have a bit worse breakfast but with more polite staff. The spa was quite small but the price even smaller so it still offered good value for money. Overall we enjoyed our stay, although there's room for improvement.

Very poor and aggressive customer service at reception
Reviewed By jkparikkaI have stayed in this hotel already 3 times, as it is the hotel our company uses when we have layovers in Luleå. The rooms are nice and comfy and clean. BUT the service at reception lacks professional customer service skills. We had an incident with breakfast, the issue was (as always seems to have been) that they had no information that breakfast is included in our room rate, as per our company policy. Once again upon checking out, we were asked to pay for breakfast and when we tried to explain that it actually should be included, the woman at reception (blond, glasses) got very defensive and started aggressively saying 'No you have to pay, we have no information!' And when we said we will check with our company and started calling them. Our company answered the phone and said 'yes it is included', my colleague tried handing the phone over to this person at the reception, she shouted "No we need email!". So we got our company to send an email and this woman come from the reception and tried to explain her side of the issue VERY POORLY. Being very accusing and unprofessional with a very aggressive tone of voice to match. She even started pointing at one of my colleagues asking "Have you paid?". I have also found from my others colleagues that emails have been sent on several occasions stating that breakfast is included, how many more emails do you need?? Now as I mentioned I have stayed in this hotel three times and every time this person has been at the reception she has had/has a very condescending attitude towards customers. Even when I have walked past the reception and say 'Hi', she doesn't even lift her eyes from her computer screen. So this is not the first time but this was too much. Our company is paying for the rooms and if you call this good customer service, I am truly shocked! I have worked in hotels for many years and now am still working in customer service, I find this outrageous how badly one gets treated. Luleå does have other hotels to offer, is this what you really want? Getting a steady revenue from a paying guest/company? Such a person should not be in customer service if she/he can't express themselves in a calm and polite manner. This person has neither qualities. Being in customer service, I do know that some days might be tougher BUT you never take it out on customers, NEVER. I would like to receive an apology and see a change made. However, I do not want the usual "Thank you for your review..We are sorry to here...blablabla", as I am fully aware that these are just templates used when one is not bothered to respond or take the time to reply. Pleasant place to stay

Check in was quick and efficient and we had a room overlooking the lovely old train station (but there is no noise). The location is a short walk to the Main Street. The 104 bus will take you directly too/from the airport but they don’t run often. You might need the number 4 bus to the Main Street and walk from there. It’s not difficult but if it is snowing heavily and you have lots of luggage you may prefer to be on the Main Street where the footpaths are heated. We loved the location. Wifi was fantastic. Breakfast was excellent with good cold and hot dishes- although after 5 days there was limited variety each day. The ginger shots were great! Our room was big enough, more dated than what appears in the photos but everything was clean, working and well looked after. The room was warm enough and quiet. Staff were helpful. The hamburger bar across the street serves excellent food at good prices. Try the reindeer or the local fried pallt. Highly recommended and very filling. The local buses were great and easy to buy tickets using the LLT app.

Cheap but not great

High noise level (from well-trafficked street), urine-smelling shower, dirty shower walls, eastern state breakfast (toast but no toaster) with cheap toppings. Nausea air throughout the hotel and plastic furniture, lamps, etc. Despite a low price of 790 SEK, it was not worth the money. I do not recommend this hotel.

Reviewed By keilbartThis was a very familiar, cosy, and clean place in a private atmosphere with lots of support, what to do in Lulea and in the surrounding.We spent a wonderful time in this hostel and on the frozen ice of the East Sea. We had got a comfortable clean room with WC. TV and Wlan and sauna. And we could stay the whole day long, though it was bed and breakfast. The kitchen was always clean and you could meet interessting travellers. We like to come back.

Very clean, modern, good value for money

It's a hostel so amenities are basic - you make your own bed, code entry for main door and room door, shared bathrooms. But as long as you understand that you will have a perfectly enjoyable stay like we had. The whole place is very clean. Rooms are compact but comfortable, and very well soundproofed. Well stocked kitchen and vending machine for drinks and snacks. Free coffee and tea is a lovely touch. Ideal location in the centre of Lulea. Decent value for money (nothing is cheap in Sweden!). Would happily stay here again.

Amber Hotell is a small privately owned hotel in the middle of Luleå. A beautiful century house with its very own atmosphere. No room is the other the same. Amber Hotell has a total of 16 rooms. All rooms have shower, toilet, TV and free WiFi connection. The hotel is non-smoking. Parking and motor heating are available for a fee. Bikes can be rented. Despite the central location, our courtyard hides a lovely garden with a patio.
Very deficient room services
Reviewed By patr_ciar77Very deficient room services. A stay of 5 days ... the room has not been cleaned. After claiming on repeated occasions, we have managed to get our towels changed. Sheets haven't been changed in 5 days.
