Great Stay

Reviewed By Acampbell10

The rooms looked freshly updated and beds were very comfy. Breakfast was fabulous. Cheese patter, fruit, bread assortment, yogurt, and granola were just some of the options. Very friendly and helpful staff. Pizza was delicious for dinner after a long day on the road. Would definitely recommend this facility

The friendliest welcome

Reviewed By Shelley L

Extremely friendly and welcoming and an excellent breakfast. As soon as we stepped through the door Fergus made us feel at home. The family couldn't have done more for us, offering to book somewhere for supper, suggesting places to go and people to speak to. The rooms were comfortable (although sound travelled through the floor so I woke whenever the upstairs room used their bathroom). Nice touch to have a well stocked kitchen area for guests to make tea and coffee. A great location for exploring the beautiful areas both north and south of Killorglin.

Like visiting an unknown relative's place in the countryside

Reviewed By kuroiTenshi

Entering, you feel a time warp to the 80s with the décor. The house/rooms are spotlessly clean. This felt like staying over with an older country relative we've never met before, where we felt the uncomfortable need to be on our very best behavior whenever we were on the premises. Proprietor Irma would frequently pop out of the woodwork, ready to check in to see how we were doing, and share suggestions for dining and lodging options for our jaunts. ROOM: Beds were clean and comfy. Equipped with reading material and extra wool blankets. HINT: if you're staying in one of the front rooms on the first floor, you need to keep the shades down - otherwise everyone can see right in. Appreciated the free WIFI (password behind the room door, along with the breakfast menu options). BATHROOM: Simple but fully equipped with toiletries, but we had brought our own. The bathroom in the twin room consists of a toilet and a shower, with the sink located in the room itself. Shower appears to be one of those instant hot water deals - not very hot and not much pressure. GETTING THERE. Conveniently located right off the highway ("new road"). Google Maps and GPS were confused because of the construction of the new road but both ways got us there fine. Parking for guests is in the back, behind the house. Watch out for the wild bunnies - fun to watch them on the front lawn in the morning. VERDICT: While old-fashioned BnBs very much not my thing, it was a warm bed in a clean room - all we needed, really - and the price was right for a last-minute, conveniently located, short term stay.

Disappointed at best

Negotiated a rate prior to arrival of 120 € for the night, but was told the rate was 135 when we arrived. Had to pay in cash, no credit card service available. Handed over cash but we were told we gave one 50 and one 5 not two 50's. But we were confident we had given 2 fifty € notes. Ripped off twice!

Family Road trip

Reviewed By Lydser1032

We visited the B&B as part of our family road trip around IRELAND in July. From the outset we were greeted by John, the owner who showed us to our huge family room. Asked when we fancied breakfast.... we headed into the town and had dinner, it’s only a 5 min walk into the town from the B&B and 2 min walk from a shop. Breakfast was massive, cereals, and a full Irish. Normally I wouldn’t eat Black pudding but the everything on the plate was ate! It saves on having to get lunch out and about. Very friendly all in and all and a great place to stay when exploring Kerry.
