Reviewed By BEonVacationArrive at the dock and board a long tail boat for the 10 minute trip up-river to the Float House. You may spot a bright blue kingfisher on the bank or a swimming monitor lizard. Arrive at this series of rafts alongside the fast-moving river and be taken to your room. It's simple and most notably has a large outdoor deck on the river. Take a jump in the river and let the swift current carry you downstream (lifejacket required). Come dinner time there is a buffet and a la carte menu. The buffet is thai, the a la carte menu has thai food and some surprisingly good pizza (their peperoni is delicious). This offers good access to hellfire gorge (worth a visit), nearby biking and kayaking, and a nearby national park with waterfalls (reasonably pretty but somewhat crowded). This is an idea hotel for 1-2 nights for travelers seeking a unique experience. This simple yet comfortable hotel trades some luxury for its unique natural environment.

Reviewed By Travel715A Lovely old-style family resort on the river banks the Royal River Kwai Resort is a nice place to stay in Kanchanaburi. Quiet, peaceful with few visitors, the hotel is one of the older style hotels dotted throughout Thailand - large well-kept grounds, big rooms full of closet spaces (nothing trendy here), far from the downtown entertainment scene. The highlight of our stay was the spa - excellent older Thai masseuses giving a great Thai massage in the beautiful glass room right next to the river. What could be better? We'll return just for the massage!

A spotlessly clean hotel and the location could not be better
Reviewed By David GThe River Kwai Bridge Hotel, could not be in a better location to see the Bridge. There is not a better location to take a photo of the bridge than the hotels outside restaurant, which is situated right at the waters edge. The staff are constantly cleaning inside and outside the hotel and the gardens.We would not think of staying anywhere else in fact we have decided to re visit Kanchanaburi and have book a room for next week we were that impressed. Our bungalow (409) was very close to the river and we recumbent it, however, all the bungalows looked very nice.

Best river resort / Worst restaurant in the region
Reviewed By RogerE505Let’s start about the resort/hotel: - secluded / quiet spot by the river (good to avoid mass tourism) - clean / modern / well decorated (very romantic) - comfortable king size bed (5 star quality) - nice little pool while we loved the hammock on the river at sunset, see picture - friendly staff - well priced, good value for money, though you would need to come by rental car like us as it is 20mn from town However, the restaurant/food was the worst we ever experienced in Thailand: - not tasty, not fresh, poorly cooked Thai food - western food was even worst, not eatable hence we asked for refund which the staff could understand with a smile - you would eat better quality at 7-Eleven microwave dishes! - just disgusting, explaining why nobody was eating here for lunch and 2 tables only at night To conclude, as long as you don’t eat here, this is the best place in Kanchanaburi ? we loved it! In regard to the food, the positive side is that we lost 1kg during our stay - great if you are on a diet...

Reviewed By masclinderWe had a very good time here. The staff are great and the food was of good quality and tasty. I would recommend this place even if you were to stay one night. Although it is out of town we rented a motorbike and made our way there. There were lots of different types of accomodations each with thier own style. The place was fully booked every for the three night tha stayed but it was still peaceful and relaxing. Thanks!

Close to what is on offer like the war graves and bar areas Very clean room and shower area very clean. Pool and car parking good . I enjoyed the restaurant that was on the river all rounded to a comfortable stay over the Anzac Day period .

Big room but have to improve the service

I asked the resort to extend stay 1 more night but they forced me to move the room and insist the room that I stay has a strong request from other guest and the new coming will arrived at 13.30 so I have to come back to the resort before 12.30. I understand the situation even me and my husband already informed them that we were outside and doing something important in another town. So me and my husband hurry to came back to the resort to packed and move. Finally the room that I moved out, no any guest check in in that room until the evening as they try to force me to move.

A terrible hotel...
Reviewed By bazaz2021The hotel could not provide a bed for my child (1 year old baby) even though I phoned before hand and checked. They also cancelled the restaurant and room service the day I arrived so I went and stayed somewhere else. Staff communication is awful, they were literally making contradictory statements whilst stood next to each other. Raised a complaint via Agoda, they basically just covered it all up and did not provide any refund. I would not consider booking this hotel again.
