Very good choice
Reviewed By feherp88We visited this hotel on a round trip between Schladming and Berchtesgaden. This hotel offers a great choice for a very good price-quality ratio. Rooms are very clean and beds are really comfortable. Rooms with balcony has a really nice view on the valley and mountains. Breakfast with table service is included into the price. Variety is not so big as in other hotels in this category but the friendly service is a great added value. There are plenty of parking spaces around. Wifi signal is free of charge and quite strong. You can reach the wonderful and peaceful town of Gröbming by walk. Dining is also highly recommended. Soups and all dishes were really tasty. We will definitely choose this hotel again when we are around.

High quality hotel on a lovely Styrian plateau
Reviewed By David SThere's much to write about this hotel so let's start with a summary: this was a fabulous place to stay when the sun came out. The Styrian Alps south-east of Salzburg may be less well known than the Tyrol, but proved during our visit in May 2022 to be just as beautiful. The village of Gersdorf lies in the heart of a lovely unspoilt plateau at around 800m above sea-level, covered with glorious wild-flower meadows and surrounded by hills and mountain peaks. I must admit that I was initially disappointed by the outlook from our room - across the road towards a kindergarten and several trees that partially blocked a wider view - although we did arrive during a particularly wet afternoon. When the sun came out the vista improved but overall the rooms at the back of the property enjoy a better panorama. Hauserl im Wald is probably the smartest hotel on the plateau - and one of very few to show up on a Tripadvisor search. We might have chosen one of the cheaper-looking guest houses in the area had we seen them online but I'm very glad we stayed where we did. Although family run it's a substantial property and caters for the corporate events market as well as holidaymakers. The staff we met were welcoming and attentive with bags of personality and were all clearly encouraged to speak English - which they managed to a variable but in all cases sufficient standard. Our room was of a decent size and overall quite neutral in design but made more special by a lovely shower room and large balcony. They have a small heated outdoor pool that was an absolute delight to swim in whilst gazing at mountain scenery in the distance. There's also a sauna (which we didn't sample). Several signed walks radiate from a nearby crossroads. Walking on the plateau is brilliant because the gradients are mostly modest, the terrain is a varied mix of woodland and pasture with beautiful views at almost every turn. The 5km trail M6 was absolutely stunning in warm late afternoon sunshine: right up there among the most memorable walks of my life. We plumped for half-board and were very pleased to have done so as the hotel's restaurant definitely provides a fine dining experience and, at EUR 24 per person for 4 courses, is notably good value. The menu is fixed but you can choose between three main course alternatives. The quantities are generous and the presentation stylish (I was particularly taken by the overlapping thin slices of baby courgettes placed on top of a hake fillet to mimic fish scales). There were also some interesting textures, such as a delicious horseradish foam served with one of our starters. The house red was an exceptionally fine local wine at EUR 22 a bottle (we didn't like the white quite as much). Breakfasts were substantial with eggs cooked to order and some notably fine bread rolls.

Hotel and restaurant services are simple but provide all what's needed if you do not expect high level Food are correct and the breakfast was a little bit minimalist.

New hotel in Groebming just a few minutes from the ski resorts Schladming-Dachstein - Ski Amade away. 16 Modern, spacious double rooms, family rooms and suites with balcony, flat screen TV, bathroom with separate toilet, hairdryer, free Wi-Fi, safe. Great breakfast buffet included. A la carte restaurant in the house with generous discount for hotel guests. Children up to 16 years pay only € 15, - per night in the suite!
Great place, great service, a bit expensive
Reviewed By Tomato69we spend (family with 4 teenagers) 5 night in this hotel. Located close to skiing areas connected to Schladming (ski Amade). There is not much to say regarding services, accomodation, breakfast... all was on high level. Wellness is the only comment I could have - I missed sauna bed sheets. but this was minor. Who looks for evening entertiment outside, the town is very quiet, we went several time for dinner, but not many choices. over all however grat time. I put 4 but in fact 4,5 would better reflec the experience. Thanks

Reviewed By MagdaS1911Very climatic place to stay, owners are absolutely welcoming and nice. There's a place to leave your skis. After long day on slopes there are 3 different saunas! Great breakfasts. Rooms are very big. Beds are cosy and very comfortable. I honestly recommend!

Beautiful little hotel
Reviewed By fj21The hotel is just beautiful, set in the mountains with lush green gardens. My room was so pretty, with its own balcony complete with spectacular views of the mountains, living room with authentic oven/heater, loads of storage, powerful shower...just perfect. I had breakfast the next day in a sweet little breakfast room with my own table reserved, again with wonderful views of the gardens and mountains. I have recently turned to a vegan diet and was delighted to find cereal, soya milk, breads and fruits all available for me to feast on!!! Good strong coffee and plenty of juice options. I spent a lovely hour relaxing over a delicious breakfast! The only thing missing was coffee making facilities in the room. I like a coffee as soon as i wake up, but this did not in any way spoil my visit to such a beautiful place and beautiful property. Will return again one day.

Reviewed By Ana BThe rooms are spacious, comfortable beds, amazing decor.. it has everything you might need (hair dryer, bottle opener, wine glasses..) The view from the balcony is to die for. Breakfast generous and very tasty. The host very attentive and happy to help . Outdoor BBQ, sauna, outside sitting area and even friendly lambs on site happy to welcome you :) I strongly recommend this accommodation to anyone visiting the area .
