My husband and I stayed at the hotel for a getaway long weekend. We loved everything except for the food that was way too expensive and some items on the menu were awful, like the smoked meat burger and the food at the restaurant St Laurent. We had stayed a couple of times at the hotel and tried the St Laurent a few times, but have always been disappointed unfortunately.

Discover Club Med’s first resort in Canada, a waterfront mountain experience to discover Quebec’s natural wonders during all seasons. With breathtaking views of the St Lawrence River, this new resort offers a unique experience for families, couples, and friends all year-round.
My friends organized a surprise bachelorette weekend at Club Med Charlevoix. We had a fantastic getaway, the food was delicious and the staffs were so friendly and helpful! The rooms were pretty clean and modern! The village is surrounded by nature. Its really a good place for a small getaway within Canada! A few employees really went above and beyond in making our experience memorable. JP - the restaurant manager welcomed us with open arms at the buffet. He reserved a table for our big group of 12 people & he was always making sure that our glasses were not empty. Not to mention that he is great performer on the stage as well! The night show manager also took the time to celebrate my bachelorette weekend by inviting me on the stage. The staffs were great and they are the ones who made my last rodeo’s memorable! The staffs who we went hiking with were super friendly as well! My friends and I had an amazing weekend! Thanks CM Charlevoix!

Built on a site that was once home to the largest wooden farm in Canada, the hotel’s layout features a series of constructions that resemble the farm buildings of days gone by. Located in Baie-Saint-Paul, the hotel is the perfect base from which to discover the fabulous region of Charlevoix, a UNESCO-designated World Biosphere Reserve. Unique, rustic rooms are equipped with goose-down comforters and minibars, plus flat-screen TVs, Nespresso coffeemakers and free Wi-Fi. In addition to its 145 rooms and lofts, Le Germain Charlevoix Hotel & Spa includes a railway station, a lively public square, seven meeting rooms (including a multifunctional venue), a gym, Les Labours restaurant and Le Bercail restaurant, both featuring local products from the region, an outdoor pool, the Spa Nordique Le Germain, and an art gallery.
I am going to be generous and suggest the hotel is still struggling to find an equilibrium post pandemic especially in the ‘shoulder’ season but attention does need to be given to some areas. First it doesn’t ‘feel’ like a hotel but more like a conference centre. It is very impersonal and staff, on our visit, lacked warmth. Information was hard to come by snd staff constantly said they would have to ‘check with their manager’. Second: it is not older adult friendly! Our room was in the 2nd floor of Clos . There is no lift snd requests for help with luggage were met with a blank stare . (Our French is reasonable but not fluent: we get by in France!) we ended up transporting our luggage ourselves. The room is stylish but the bath is exceptionally high and we struggled to get into it as is the bed. We are fit active healthy but also over 70 and showing some signs of age. Even a small step in the room would have helped. Third the issue of servicing the room referred to in other reviews. We did not know the policy - we were given no information on check in. When I asked I was told rooms are not serviced but coffee, towels etc replenished between 4-8pm ( seemed an odd time). This did not happen and when queried was told I’d misunderstood the information! (Blaming the customer is not, generally, good practice ). Now I have no problem with servicing/not servicing on a short stay but the lack of information was shocking. In our subsequent hotel we were given very clear info as to what would and would not happen, what to do etc so it’s not really an insurmountable issue. Another example - we twice reported issues with the lights, were twice assured it would be addressed - and twice it did not happen. It was not all bad. The concierge was very helpful indeed, staff in the bar abd restaurant were generally friendly, approachable and efficient and the food ( pizzas) were good. But I would not stay here again unless I was confident that it is more older person friendly and communication between staff has improved.

We had a wonderful dinner in an elegant dining room. The amuse-bouche was delicious, as were our appetizers of emu rolls, soup or salads. The veal was tasty but a little tough, and I enjoyed the accompanying fresh vegetables. The maple crème brûlée was very good and surprisingly so was the goat cheese banana pie! Excellent service, superb wine list.

Clean, quiet, friendly, and great value. Places like this where you can get a good sleep in your own private room for a reasonable price are few and far between. Perfect location in town, walking distance to everything you need including the microbrasserie and restaurants in Rue Saint-Jean-Baptiste, the beach and to the quay via the Chemin des Soeurs, the art galleries, and even their own museum. Very convenient for hiking in the Parc des Grands Jardins and ZEC des Martres (40km drive). I will come again on my bike, as they are also certified Bienvenue Cyclistes!

last minute booking as no other place available, paid $246 to sleep in a very hot room, no a/c, rotating fan placed on counter at bedside, travelling with a friend and if we stood finger tip to finger tip we could touch the opposite walls, the room was soooooo small, when opening the bathroom door it was only inches away from the edge of the bed, room was crammed with a table and 2 chairs and I'm not sure why as there was no room to pull out the chairs to sit, I think the tv was bigger than the bed, the bathroom had holes in the walls, no bathtub and the shower head was about 4 inches from the curtain with about 3 feet on the other side????? don't let the looks of the exterior fool you, I would never stay here again and not recommend to anyone, the only good thing about this place was it's proximity to the ferry

Hôtel Baie-Saint-Paul offers a haven of comfort during your stay in the Charlevoix region!Treat yourself to comfort and relaxation in friendly Hôtel Baie-Saint-Paul.Hôtel Baie-Saint-Paul is located at the gateway to the city and offers 62 fully renovated rooms. Its highly accessible location is within easy reach of all the attractions that make Charlevoix famous, including Le Train du Massif de Charlevoix, hiking, art galleries and museums, helicopter tours, whale-watching, and much more.
Room rating is 3, it was decent size, clean, sofa completely worn out. Restaurant is extremely bad, it has a mention of a steakhouse, the 2 steaks we ordered were not edible, house wine both white & red are not drinkable. If you are looking for ice to bring to the room, we've been told $5. My husband forgot his mask in the room and asked one at the reception, was told $1. Some Ski doo owners decided to park their equipment right in front of the patio doors and warmed it up in the morning for 15 minutes right there!!! Generally speaking, it's a place from the 1970s, staff is arrogant, except waitresses in the restaurant, they are probably trying to make up for the rest. If they don't change the attitude, they are better sell.
