Reviewed By joeye185Stayed for two nights here on our road trip. Host was a lovely woman who was very accommodating, and very kind. She gave us some tips for a day trip to Ban Gioc waterfalls which were helpful. She made a good breakfast in the morning and laundry was done overnight. She also let us store our motorcycle inside overnight. Room was nice, bed was huge and mattress wasn’t made of stone like some other places we’ve visited. Would definitely stay again.

Great New Hotel with friendly staff
Reviewed By Bouncy_BoycyThe receptionist was very warm and welcoming. The room was a bit compact but was clean and the toilet was also good with strong hot water. The beds were comfy and the TV, A/C and wi-fi worked well. They dont do meals but everything is right there. Great central location to explore the Cao Bang city and market. Bus to the waterfall passes the hotel and the receptionist will happily guide guests on a suggested itinerary. On weekends the night market happens along the street in front and the hotel is in the centre of all the action) - lots of cafes right there. Would stay again. Location is a plus in the middle of Kim Dong Road.

Absolutely Stunning, Comfortable and Clean
Reviewed By JSTrip_77Just wow!! Just across the street from the Khuoi Ky stone village, this homestay is a stunning property that blends with nature. Constructed out of stone and wood, the facilities are modern and yet harmonious with the karst mountains all around. We were greeted so warmly with a fire in the fire pit which was then roasting rice and would later cook chicken. We stayed in the separate rooms, not the hostel area and found the rooms to be incredibly clean and comfortable. Each room has an individual hot water heater which provided awesome showers. Only some rooms have A/C or heat. The outside air got very cold during the night but I was never cold under my blanket. In fact, on this trip, I stayed in 3-4 star hotels up until my night at Yen Nhi - and yet my BEST sleep of this trip was at the homestay. (My Apple Watch confirmed this with stats!) The breakfast (banh cuon) was fresh, hot and delicious. And, we had a great time with the hosts and the other guests. This is a great place to learn about the Tay ethnic group, local history, and get a sense for living in this remote area of the country. Gosh, I cannot wait to go back!!!

Reviewed By Perry HFor the area and location this is about a 3 star hotel. The rooms are clean but a little old and furnished very modestly and very simple. The bath room has an open shower and water covers bathroom tile floor which makes it very slippery. You can wear slippers so as not to slip and fall. The bed is very comfortable and clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful and they have house laundry which is fast and reasonable. Breakfast is a loaf of bread, Tea, and an egg if you ask for it. For the price it's a fair deal.

The homestay is located in a small absolutely beautiful village next to the waterfall and the cave. River view on one side and garden and mountains view on the other! Definitely recommend !

Excellent location, clean and friendly
Reviewed By EricK3332Located on the edge of the old quarters, Max is right next to where it's all happening. Restaurants, coffee cafes, fruit stalls, high end eateries are all within easy reach and never more than 5 minutes walking away. Rooms are of a reasonable size, clean and reasonably well equipped. There is some form of rudimentary cleaning service daily during our 3-night stay, but then this isn't a 5* luxury hotel, nor does it pretend that it is. Check-in staff were friendly, but we found out to our peril that only one spoke sufficiently good English to help us out without being misled. We were told by the check-in staff that buffet breakfast was served from 630am to 8am so we decided not to bother as we wanted to have a little of a lie in. In fact, times were from 6am to 10am, so we out out on 3 mornings of breakfast and coffee. Overall, we did enjoy our stay. Max is currently the top hotel in Cao Bang city, but their lead is not going to much longer.

Clean, friendly but basic accommodation
Reviewed By EricK3332We stayed here for just one night on our travels between Don Van and Cao Bang. This hotel is located just outside the main market square. The walk is about 1km or around 10-12 minutes away for food although there are several food outlets nearby serving local food. The rooms are basic. Two nice clean beds, heater or aircon depending on the time of the year, internet (free), but no hair dryer or kettle in the room. Having said that, there was ample free bottles of mineral (drinking) available from reception on the ground floor. The bath and toilet itself was also spartan, a small piece of bath soap, with small sachets of shampoo and conditioner. There was ample running hot water for a shower, although water pressure was on the low side. Overall, this is a decent place for a night or two, perhaps more if needed, but then Bao Lac is small and it is unlikely that anyone touring the area would need more than a one night's stay. Price of the accommodation is also very reasonable. I'd say it's a recommendation on my part.

Decent hotel with good view of the river
Reviewed By MustakimQZStayed here for 2 nights as we went on a day trip to Ban Gioc waterfall. The room is basic and clean. Love the conditioner that they use in the laundry coz the sheets and towels smell wonderful. For the price you pay i would say this is a good place to stay.

Incredible Homestay in a traditional home with an amazing family
Reviewed By jitto10We had the most incredible two nights with this family and would recommend this Homestay for anyone visiting the falls or the caves. Their hospitality knows no end, they welcomed us to their family and made us feel so comfortable. The family dinner was incredible and they all are amazing cooks! The food was also so fresh the vegetables were picked from the veg patch and washed in the stream. The house was traditional and has been with the family for 250 years. Thank you to this amazing family
