After reading critical reviews about this place and the corona situation limiting us to travel far, we decided to try vacationing here. We spent 5 nights in a 2-bedroom apartment here. Check-in and check-out were quick and uncomplicated. Reception staff were always friendly and helpful. We got a house near the boat marina. On this side of the complex, the buildings have many swallow nests thus bird excrement should be expected. The apartment is on the first floor which I think is perfect for a good view towards the water. On the ground floor pedestrian could look into the apartment. On the second flood would be too warm in summer. The apartment was clean. The toilet smell like old urine (we knew this beforehand from reviews so we‘d prepared ourselves mentally). The balcony was acceptable. Yes, there are bird excrement every where but not as bad as we thought it would be (again, from reading the reviews). We didn‘t hang out on the balcony. Instead we opened the glass door wide and sit in the living room. The bedrooms were clean and had blackouts and mosquito filter on the window. Build-in wardrobe with plenty of storage. A safebox is in one of the bedroom. The pillows do not provide enough support so I wished I had brought my own pillow. The kitchen was clean and had most utensils needed. A cutting board and a small knife were not there, so we called receptionist and they sent housekeeping to being us new ones. There is no oven, but one can order pizza to-go from their restaurant. The price is fair; 7€ for a 30cm pizza margherita. There is a discounter near the hotel (approx. 10 min. walk). A vacuum cleaner and mop in the apartment for in-between cleaning by ourselves. The swimming pool is very nice. The indoor pools are heated. The outdoor pool is not. One must call the receptionist or the poolhouse to reserve a swim time(max. 90 min.). We called 2 days in advance to get a spot. The beach is the biggest minus point for us. It is stony and has a lot of seegrass (tang) growing at the seaground, loose ones floating in the water (our legs getting tangled in them sometimes) and accumulating at the beach. We‘ve been to other beaches in this area (Lübecker Bucht, Kühlungsborn), but this was the worst so far (and that for the most money we had spent for accomodation). All in all, it is a nice place esp. for family with small kids. It was a nice change of view for us and the staff are very friendly and quick in response when we needed anything (handsoap or toilette paper refill), but we would rather spent the money for a clean and sandy beach next time.

Very disappointing

Reviewed By Kathleen B

Really disappointed with this hotel. This is place is just expensive and nothing else. Pros: close to the beach, good service Cons: the interior is from the 90's and nothing has been done since. Table tops are scratched, carpet stained. You pay 2 Euro for the "complimentary" bottle of water in the room that is standard in hotels of that category. There are no tea and coffee making facilities in the room and the minibar is an empty fridge. The hotel has got a pool and sauna, but dressing gowns seem to be provided only to selected guests - we had to use a regular towel. Breakfast is served until 10.30 am but at 10 am there is barely anything to eat. The reception and seating areas on the ground floor smell of stale food odors all afternoon, which really isnt appealing. You get all that for close to 200 Euro per night.

The hotel offers nice rooms. Especially those with a view over the meadows are quiet and cosy. Breakfast is delicious with a wide range of foods. Cleanliness leaves room for improvement. WiFi isn't that good either. Staff is always friendly and helpful.

This place is wonderful in many ways: it's located in the middle of a beautiful park, it's totally quiet which makes you sleep like a baby, it's very clean, the rooms are comfortable and the food is excellent. When you look for a relaxing place in a great landscape this is your place.

Great place to stay

Reviewed By Charlie N

This family-run hotel is a great place to stay. The room was clean, spacious. The breakfast buffet had a large selection and was included. It's one of the cheaper options and worth every penny. Also it's close to the beach, a supermarket and the town centre. The staff was extemely friendly and helpful. Small fridge to buy chilled drinks on a trust basis also available.

Regenbogen Boltenhagen

In Boltenhagen you have both: The Baltic Sea and the forest. Right behind our holiday resort you will find Tarnewitz jungle, a wild mixed forest consisting of alders, poplars, oaks and old pines. A 400 m long way will lead you to the beach, through the coastal forest and along the promenade. It is not only our rental caravans where you can spend a comfortable holiday. Our Sweden cottages or tipis also guarantee a unique holiday pleasure. The holiday homes‘ and Tipis‘ terraces are big enough for happy and relaxing moments. The leisure offers are opulent. Tennis, diving courses, volleyball, minigolf and the spa area „Paradies“ with different saunas, rasul bath, tepidarium, massage – and cosmetic area and kneipp garden provide variation during your holiday. No matter if it‘s spring, summer, autumn or winter – in Boltenhagen, one of the oldest seaside resorts, you can spend a great holiday.

Definitely not worth the money

Reviewed By Timothy_Jules

We (2 adults, 1 toddler) were at Camp Regenbogen for a few nights with a camper van and paid an insane price of 63€ per night. What you get for your money: Small pitches all close together, mostly permanent campers, neighbors offering late night musical entertainment (guitar, trumpet, loud music), and last but not least: Rather slow wifi only in selected areas (unfortunately we did not have any reception). The sanitary buildings are quite new, but the guests mostly don’t care: There were beer bottles in the men's shower and the handle of the shower was stuck with chewing gum for two consecutive days. There are a lots of children on the campsite, but there is only one children's bathroom per sanitary building, which is often occupied and in which the shower handles are partly defective. The children’s bathroom we used had no windows at all. Nice are the large playground, the supermarket and bakery directly in front of the campsite and the proximity to the beach. Overall, however, definitely not to be recommended. In the end, it's way too expensive. What a rip-off!
