Reviewed By PaktaWe arrived without a booking as cycle tourers and were warmly welcomed to this lovely place. It is obvious that a lot of care and thought has gone into every detail. The cabins are simple and comfortable. The autumn weather was cooling but we could control very efficient heating in our cabin. Highly recommended!

The Glocknerhof is a unique hotel for holidays in summer and in winter situated at a wonderful place in Carinthia. The hotel offers great food and drinks, spa area and lots of activities for families, hiker, biker, sportive persons, and modelflying pilots.
A hike down memory lane
Reviewed By Ariana VThis was my second stay at Glocknerhof, about 20 years after the first, and it was just as magical. The staff were very friendly; the food was delicious (breakfast, lunch, cake, and dinner were included); the room was super clean, comfortable, and spacious; the balcony was an added bonus; and the views were truly breathtaking. Additionally, the price for the kind service and room quality (we had a suite) was very good. The only thing I'd recommend adding is a minibar/fridge in all the rooms, so that guests can keep their water or other beverages cold.

Nice big pool in town, just a few minutes walking distance. A nice spot to discover Karinthië.

Reviewed By 691genHave stayed here twice now, once in winter and once in summer. Absolutely stunning both times. Fantastic skiing and hiking. Hotel is great and very family friendly - good food, nice family (the Putzs). There is a pool, tennis courts, golf course, sauna. Recommend renting a car so you can easily get to all the best spots in the area!

Reviewed By Jessica EWe came as a group here last minute because our trip was cancelled. They arranged that we could stay there. The location looks beautiful, view on river and mountains. Only in the area is not much to see or to do. I tink for walking its fine but i didnt see any supermarket or other restaurants, bars The dinner tasted very good. Then I found the staff friendly. The breakfast was great too. What was not too great was the smell in the shower and there were lots of insects in the room. I left a window open as it was very hot. The balcon is shared so i couldnt leave the door open. But overall, not a bad hotel.

Reviewed By Laura AThis was my second time here but my family is coming here for years. They stayed here over 10 times probably and they are still enjoying it. ROOMS The rooms are all different. They provide single, double and even family rooms with connecting doors. Rooms at the back of the pension (with balcony) have the most stunning views over the valley. I could sit at the balcony and just enjoy the surroundings for hours. All rooms of course are ensuite, some even have a separate toilet from the bathroom. You can connect to the internet (Wi-Fi) on every floor. BREAKFAST Breakfast is OK. You can choose for cereals (3 options), bread (3 options) and several spreads (different options for ham and cheese). They even make fresh fruit salad. DINER You have the option to take half board, however than you have to choose between the 2 day menus. I like to have my options wide. They have quite a large menu offering pasta's, pizza's, local dishes, meat, fish, ... Every week (in summer and if the weather is nice) they organize a BBQ, mostly on Wednesdays. The owner is a baker and makes the best cakes. They also make their own ice cream. SURROUNDINGS Berg im Drautal is situated in the heart of Carinthia. With the best climate in summer of Austria you could enjoy the best holiday. You have a large open air swimming pool in the village (free access if you stay at the Hassler Pension!) or you could choose from a bunch of activities in the environment: paragliding, rafting, hiking, canyoning, climing, rodeln, ... I enjoyed my stay very much and I will definitely come back! I would certainly book it for its price. We paid € 35.00 per person for bed & breakfast.

Beautiful location, but unfortunately unfriendly owner
Reviewed By M HThe hotel is located directly up Emberger Alm, a beautiful spot to go paragliding or hiking. The hotel itself is simple, but everything is sufficient. The spa area even exceeded our expectations, was spacious, clean and very inviting. Breakfast was absolutely sufficient for a mountain hut, with bread, butter, cheese and even some fresh fruit. Our room was small and comfy, but very cold and hard to heat even though we turned up the heater. So, why is our review only 1 star? Unfortunately, service is very unfriendly here. We were received and checked out very coldly, without any information or even a nice word. The owner was so unfriendly that I even decided to directly talk to him and ask if there was anything wrong and why he was being so unfriendly. He kind of weasled himself out of the conversation; however, reading the other reviews of this place on the website of the host, I see that many many other guests had made the same experience as we. That's a shame, considering that the building itself is really nice, and could have a lot of potential. However, we noticed that there were very few guests and that most of the people stayed at the neighboring hotel Sattlegger, where staff was incredibly friendly and the food was amazing. So, take a word of advise, pay a few euros more and go to the neighboring place, which is equally well located and very, very nice.

Man schläft gut, die Zimmer sind Tip-Top in Ordnung auchvwenn sie den Stil und Standart der 70-er Jahre wiederspiegeln (vorallem das Bad) Das Bad ist top sauber und es kommt ein anständiger warmer Wasserstrahl aus dem Duschkopf (mehr wert als Design) Frühstück ist lecker mit hausgemachten Marmeladen (Makel: es gibt tatsächlich noch dieses angerührte etwas das Orangensaft sein soll). Ansonsten lokale Produkte ?. Ich werde wieder dort nächtigen.

Reviewed By Sharon TVriendelijk onthaal door gastvrouw en haar familie. Bed en breakfast bevindt zich op een boerderij. Zeer rustige, gezellig locatie met een boel katten. Kamer en badkamer bevatten alles wat je nodig bent. Balkon aanwezig. Heerlijk ontbijt met elke ochtend een ei en verse producten. Ontbijtzaal kan overdag en 's avonds gebruikt worden als 'huiskamer'. Gratis wifi aanwezig. Supermarkt, bank en een aantal restaurantjes in de hoek. Weißensee en Lienz zijn beide makkelijk met de auto te bereiken.
