Wonderful view from the balcony
Reviewed By HansHbg_SverigeWe had booked a room with landview but we got a room with view over the lake, Absolutely lovely view. The room was of good size and had 2 comfortable rocking chairs. Surroundings are very nice and you can have a walk to the small village which takes about 10-15 minutes. Easy free parking outside the hotel. Breakfast was very good and with nice view over the lake. Staff was nice and kind. Wifi worked not so well.

Der fast schon familiäre Empfang, die tolle durchweg lockere Art des Besitzers- einfach klasse. Hübsch und modern gestaltetes Zimmer und ein Frühstücksangebot bei dem locker 2 Leute mehr satt werden. Sollten wieder nach Malente kommen, übernachten wir dort mit Sicherheit wieder! Sehr zu empfehlen!

An Excellent Country Hotel Experience

Given that our plans included visits to the cities of Kiel and Lübeck and several other places in the area, I searched for a hotel where we could stay for several nights and use as a base for making day trips. This led us to reserving a four-night stay at the Hotel See Villa in the town of Bad Malente that lies between Kiel and Lübeck. The hotel is located in a lovely spot on the edge of town, just steps away from Dieksee (Diek Lake) and a host of local eateries. Knowing that we’d be staying for several nights I booked the top floor suite with its large balcony overlooking the lake. For the gorgeous long summer days and great sunsets this spacious room with its two balconies, separate living room and entry hall was just ideal. Everything about the room was excellent, including the generously sized beds that were firm and supportive. Bed and bathroom linens were of high quality as well. The only drawback was that the hotel has no elevator, but the climb upstairs was always worth it. The room rate included free breakfast and parking. Breakfast is served in a spacious and airy dining room. The food is all laid out in buffet style and with a flair that made it all very appealing. I asked the owner to what extent she sourced from local farmers. It turns out that this is done as much as possible. For example, all of the eggs and fruit jams are from local farmers along with the warm fresh breads from a local bakery. Yum! The hotel has only 13 rooms which makes for personal service and the owner and staff never failed to deliver wonderful hospitality, making us feel very welcomed. And it was wonderfully quiet, allowing for a good sleep. Country hotels such as this can frequently be an enjoyable change from larger ones in the city. What they may lack in facilities is more than made up for by rates that are often much lower than in the city, and the personal touch. Be aware, though that this hotel and many others in vacation spots are completely booked during the summer months and so you’ll need to book early. We had a terrific stay at the Hotel See Villa and definitely recommend it.

Reviewed By AngmohofArabiaThis is a reasonably priced, decent 3 star hotel. My small, but tidy and well appointed room was facing the lake and was quiet. TV has a reasonable choice of channels. The only two small issues were the uncomfortable pillows, and the rather patchy wifi.

Reviewed By Claus AJust a perfect place to relax. Everything function in the best way. No stress from guests or staff. Fantastic breakfast. Mention and you get it. But why, everything is there and on the top a perfect made coffee. Again in a relaxed atmosphere. Extra service free homemade cakes and coffee in the afternoon. You find a fridge in the breakfast room with drinks, wine, snacks... just take and write your room number. Easy. Rooms are super, both with or without balcony/terraze. Tea and coffee in the room. Cleaning perfect. Location could not be better. Next to the lake, view to the lake and next to walking promenade. Close to restaurants (possible to get light dinner meals at the hotel). You can have nice walks, long or short around the 5 lakes. Several different, beautiful routes. Next to the lake, in forest. We had one 22 km and one 14 km. You can choose the amount of kilometers you want. All the way you meet nice, friendly people. On bike or walking You even have a small pool and a sauna in the hotel. We used it every day. And again spotless clean and with free towels. You have easy free parking faciities. Age of other guests between 40 to 70. Very nice guests and I am sure they have been guests for years. Of course. Price? It is TOO cheap considered the high standard so don´t hesitate to book if you want to visit the 5 lakes. Close to the cities Kiel and Lübeck if you want to do shopping. We prefered to relax and enjoy the silence in the area and in a perfect hotel. But remember with reviews like this it will be difficult to get a room. Book days, weeks, months in advance to be sure to get a room. Very easy to write an e-mal or call the hotel. Quick reply and with the best prices. As I said in the headline - JUST PERFECT ! TOO CHEAP - BOOK A ROOM NOW BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE

Bad Malente is located in one of Germany's largest nature parks. The hostel nestles in a beautiful lakeland area. The four buildings are located on a large peninsula. The hostel's large grounds, with a stretch of forest, fruit trees, an area for playing football and playing field, has its own swimming area and a campfire site. The lakes are ideal for sailing, canoeing and pedal boating or enjoying beautiful bike rides along the picturesque lakefront. The hostel has 202 beds, divided between four buildings. It offers mostly 4-bed to 8-bed rooms with sink, showers/toilets are directly allocated to the rooms, separate rooms for group leaders, club room for leaders, 8 common rooms, a TV room, W-LAN, games room for small children, 6.5 hectares of land with forest, apple orchard and large lawns, area for playing football, volleyball court, table tennis, table football and various barbecue facilities. Next train station: Bad Malente (2 km)
perfect for nature lovers
Reviewed By izi fThis was one of the best hostels I stayed in! We came with a dog and got nice room with the acces to a big garden and lake shore! The receptionists and other employes (always smiling lady in the kitchen) were super friendly and helpfull. We even got the dinner served in a common room as the dogs are not allowed to enter the dinning room! Food was excelent, with lots of choice, more than usually in the hostels. Restaurant is perfectly set with a great views of the lake through big windows. There are lots of possibillities for hiking, different sports just around the hostel. And if you like the sea - it is just some 15 km away. If you need something from the town - shops and restaurants are just a short walk away.
