I showed them my confirmed, non-refundable [!] booking, but to no avail. I booked this hotel, then plans changed and I cancelled, only to re-book within a few hours. Our initial booking was without breakfast, then I re-booked for a lower, non- refundable rate with breakfast. They clearly overrode the site we booked on and were shown the door without an apology or effort to accommodate us elsewhere, stating 'you cancelled, so we threw out your bookings', implying they were well aware of our second booking. This hotel should be renamed in B*llsh*t Hof.

Lovely weekend in Bad Bentheim
Reviewed By EkaterinaP895We had a great stay at this lovely hotel. Impeccably clean room, friendly staff and perfect location. On top of that, a warmed up swimming pool and a steam bath. We loved it! The breakfast is good. I only missed oatmeal. The only thing we did not like was the dinner. For us a buffet dinner is really convenient because we have a 1 y.o daughter but here we decided to pass because the food really didn’t look good at all. This is a minor thing though. The cherry on top of our great experience was that they kindly allowed us to check out later, so we could enjoy one more full afternoon in this cute little town. We would definitely recommend this hotel!

Good value for money
Reviewed By DiemelWe booked us a comfort room. Nice large room with balcony. Everything in good working order. Towels in bathroom could be replaced by newer ones. Coffee/tea tray is always nice to have. Free bottle of mineralwater. TV has limited channels. We had a nice dinner at their restaurant. Attentive service. Limited but good winelist. Breakfast the next morning has some issues. At 9.00 (breakfast time is till 10 am) breakfast rolls were almost not available anymore. Yoghurt had no refill. Scrambled eggs looked terrible. In the heating pan since 7 am i guess. Free parking. The hotel is on the outskirts of Bad Bentheim.

Reviewed By Edgar SWe booked the hotel arrangement over a well known Dutch booking site, for a 3 day, 2 night arrangement on half board. The rooms are fine, we changed the room because the weak wifi reception. Dinner arrangement meals are OK, with the usual schnitzel or chicken in cream sauce. Breakfast buffet is fine. Service staff, extremely polite and attentive to us and the rest of the guests. Overall an average experience.

Nice, pleasant hotel in a quiet location
Reviewed By Peter EThis is a lovely old converted farm house (verging on a Manor House) in absolutely beautiful grounds in a quiet location some way outside of town. It retains some elements of its past, such as wonderful old furniture and clocks in the communal parts, but other than that has had its character entirely ripped out. You could therefore be in any bland, basic, ordinary hotel room when inside. The service was always very friendly and warm, breakfast was okay - but by no means as good as other German hotels of this price class - and the place is ideal for dogs (my two were genuinely welcomed and there are great walks in the woods close by). The price seems a bit steep for what’s on offer. I couldn’t get any WI-FI in my room at all, but in the breakfast room it was a fast (and free) 12 mpbs. + Beautiful grounds and gardens + Lovely old building + Clean + Friendly + Free parking and Wi-fi in some parts + Dog Friendly - Bland basic rooms - Pricey - No complimentary toiletries

Nice place, friendly people, poor wifi
Reviewed By JTPMIWe stayed here 2 nights in September 2017 to visit family. The staff was friendly and helpful. The check-in process was easy. The room was updated, clean and comfortable. The dinner options were good and tasted great. The breakfast was also very nice. Being close to the train station allowed us to walk from the train pulling our carry-ons - about 2 blocks. We were VERY disappointed with the very cheap, ineffective wireless access to the internet. Do not stay here if you need reasonable access to the internet. Even the usually low capability of most hotels would have been welcome. But since we were without cell service while we were in Europe and using WhatsAp for our communication we were totally blocked out while we were staying at this hotel. Why does this hotel bother at all provided wifi that will only tick off its customers?!
