Reviewed By SoloSunjoWe stayed two nights and although this is the not the fault of the hotel, the entire town town caters to “Western food.” It tastes horrible. Why come to Vietnam and eat American food that isn’t prepared the same? The staff and breakfast buffet are great. Coffee is top notch! The rooms are small. Unless you pay more for the family room you will have a bath with shower over the toilet. It’s not a separate shower. So your entire bathroom is wet. Beds are large and comfortable. This is called a bungalow but it’s really hotel rooms. Towels are ample but they are given damp. Bring own soap and shampoo some are given but very small amount. Pool is nice. WiFi barely works unless you are in the lobby. This really sucks. TV connects to uTube TV and Netflix but won’t work more than a few seconds due to poor WiFi. 2.5-3 stars max.

They rented motorbikes and washed clothes at a cheaper price than I knew. we booked a trip on lan ha bay very easily with them. I feel very at home here. If you have time to return to Vietnam and go to Catba, we will definitely come to this hotel.

Reviewed By Marie DIncredible’s staff, so nice, so friendly, so cute. Cheap room, cheap beers, cheap restaurant and so much fun ! We came for one night we stayed 4 days. They helped us for everything (excursions, bus, motorbikes). We would love to go back there !

Reviewed By ThomboutAfter trying a hotel in the center of Cat Ba, and considering/passing by Woodstock Jungle, we decided to stop at Cat Ba Countryside Homestay because of the atmosphere, friendlyness of the people and because it's affordable. We got a private bungalow with private and clean bathroom. We stayed a week and got friendly with the two workers taking over the family who runs the place (who happened to be on vacation when we went there). The only advice I would give to this place would be to enhance the bed (bungalow 5) which was a little too soft to our taste. Take earplugs (karaoke + dogs + roosters singing a good part of the night) as this is indeed a countryside. Oh yes, they got a pool as well!

Negatives: - staff barely speaks English - bed sheets have burn marks - asking for extra clean bedsheets was a hassel and at first not possible - small ants everywhere in the room - toilet smells like two week old rotten eggs - curtains smell like a gym changing room

Comfortable stay with helpful staff
Reviewed By 425bethwDidnt pre book a place to stay but just rocked up and there was a private room with en suite available. Price was reasonable at 400,000 dong for the room. Alternatively there are dorm beds available at 300,000 dong. The room was HUGE, could have fit a six bed dorm in it! Loved having the space! Bed very comfortable for Asia. Shower good, warm and a good pressure. TV we couldnt get to work as it was requiring Vietnamese questions but we didnt need it. Fridge in the room but no safe. Towels were replaced daily which normally we wouldn't ask for, but there wasnt a dont make up room sign and it was quite nice having dry nice smelling towels. Balcony was awesome, we were on the 3rd floor and had awesome views over the bay, just a shame it was grey the whole time we were staying. Although it was noisy at night as theres a rooftop bar above you pumping the tunes out, but we used earplugs and were fine. Do be prepared to climb up stairs as there is no lift - its food exercise though!! Breakfast is at a nearby restaurant called Bigman, reasonable selection, but not too much if you don't like eggs or Pho. Also no water only tea or coffee, but they kindly made an exception for me. Overall would definitely recommend this place to stay. Oh and tours are available at 10% and a few other restaurants too we visited them all and loved the 10% off!!
