Cobble streets, quirky nooks and crannies, good mix of shops bars, cafes and beautiful buildings and museums, we stayed within Gamla Stan and very glad we did, easy access from there to everywhere and lots of museums worth walking to nearby. Definitely worth trying to stay within Gamla Stan area. We stayed in small scandic hotel which was located just at one end of Gamla Stan.

What a perfect spot for viewing this lovely city. You really can get some great photos in this area and it is worth the effort to get here. We had a fabulous sunny day which made this even more magical.

I love this walk! You get great views of Södermalm and Old Town architecture plus there is an outdoor cafe just outside Statshuset with lounge chars and is dog friendly, a wonderful place to enjoy the view and do people/dog watching.

Beautiful park for piknik and after work relaxation for the people in Stockholm. At the other end of the park, there is a super playground for kids (ages around 0-7-years). It is called Parklek. Lots of outdoor toys and activities available for everyone to use. Easy also because there is a club house with toilets and place to change the nappy for the very little ones. All the kids play areas are separated with colourful little fences so that the bigger kids didn't come cyckling to the small kids play area and so that the curious little toddlers can't run away too fast. There are a lot of beautiful trees to give shade and benches and piknik tables so you can sit down to relax. And us adults we loved the red hammock chairs outside the park and a little BBQ corner inside the park. It was easy to grill some lunch. There are proper toilets to wash hands insinde the little club house. The toys and bicycles and bathrooms are available on weekdays from 10 am to 6 pm. But of course the swings and climbing structures with their slides etc are open and free to be used at all times.
