Getting there was half the fun for us! We avoided the highways and opted for the winding back roads and farm lanes - what an adventure! When you get to the top, I'm sure the view is spectacular; I say that because it was grey and raining when we arrived. It started to clear before we left, so we got a small glimpse of the lake and mountains in the distance. In addition to seating by the windows, there's a large patio area for outdoor dining (not an option on our day due to weather).Service was fast and friendly. There was a varied menu that offered a great selection of local German cuisine. I enjoyed a pint of their dark beer made on site. Food coming out of the kitchen looked spectacular. I opted for meatloaf, only to be disappointed with two large slices of warmed lunch meat. My own fault for not researching ahead of time, but know that meatloaf isn't the same as what you'd expect in North America.Would love to return on a sunny, clear day and enjoy some of the other features on the menu, including the locally crafted beer.Hi Canada27, thank you very much for visiting us in our brewery. We stayed at this hotel on our recent holiday/road trip through Europe. The booking was made en route via booking.com and was a great choice. Nice clean hotel. Clean rooms and a good standard of accommodation.

After travelling in Switzerland for the last 2 weeks the Krone was a great relief to the pocket. I had the goulash and wife had the schnitzel. Big servings and complete with salads etc. Highly recommended and with drinks was half the price of Switzerland.

We attended one of the summer series concerts. The Castle is lovely and in good condition but there are lots of stairs. The venue offers a series of varied concerts during the summer. We saw a Gypsy Jazz group that was outstanding. Intermission was champagne on the terrace with a view of the Alps across the lake at sunset. Outstanding!!

a hotel restaurant but for everyone - we arrived without reservation and were lucky to get a table out on the terrace right in front of the lawn and the lake - beautiful. friendly service coming in and out. good food. above moderately priced for sure but quality is fine. overall a good experience and to be recommended.

I compliment the Adler. This traditional restaurant (and guesthouse) is way off the tourist route in the little apple-growing village of Oberdorf, above Langenargen on the Bodensee. A German friend took us there the first time... subsequently we found it on our bikes. It's wise to book, as this little gem is very popular with the discerning local populace. The produce is locally sourced and beautifully fresh. The house speciality is local chicken cooked in every conceivable way â and very good it is too. I tried a Bodensee speciality â filled-pasta parcels in a clear sauce â excellent, and accompanied by the exceptional draft Zeppelin beer brewed in nearby Friedrichshafen. The very amiable proprietor and chef later came to chat with all the diners. Altogether a very nice surprise and pleasant experience. Highly recommended!

Just a day or so ago with my wife and I we felt like a glass of wine after an afternoon of site seeing. So we stumbled into this place which was almost full. The service was swift and pleasant but the wine recommended by the staff was not of the best variety but the price was rather steep...

We ate here one evening during our stay in Langenargen. We tried to eat here on the Saturday night but unfortunately for us, and our friends, it was full. We returned on another evening and enjoyed excellent food and a very warm welcome. We were given an English menu, which was a great help! The food was delicious and we all had a very nice time. Very friendly and helpful staff.If we were ever in this area again we would definitely call in for something to eat.

Fair traditional and regional cuisine for reasonable price. Besides the quality cuisine accompanied by great local beers and wines I would appreciate also attitude of staff. We visited the restaurant for a dinner but the restaurant was absolutely full and we had no reservation. But the staff, after couple minutes of waiting have prepared a proper table for us and so we could enjoy dinner.
