I know it for the last 17 years. Just amazing. No better words. Typical Franken Restaurant in a great small medieval village. Simple and tasty menu were cordon blue is the king. Service is friendly and attentive. Good wine selection and generous portions so don't eat too much before. I really enjoy it and will continue returning. I recommend it. CIAO

Four of us stopped by for wine and desserts. Most offerings were sold out but two of us had pieces of the last remaining cake. The other two settled for Flammkuchen.Service was slow but friendly. All of our dishes were good, if not memorable. Wines were representative of a village renowned for its good wines. Again, none was memorable, but all were good. The outdoor eating area was pleasant and nearly full with customers spending a long afternoon there. Four of us ate and drank for 30€, including tip. It is hard to beat the price, and the quality was a reasonable value

We are not the only people that think this is the best food in Germany. We have spoken with many visitors here and they all agree. The menu is hand written and is always changing for a culinary surprise each visit. They pride themselves on organic and local products. It's always full even at lunch so reservations are a good idea. It's not expensive and you won't go away hungry.

We sat in the lovely garden in the back for an early dinner. They whipped up a dish for our toddler which he seemed to enjoy. The service was quite friendly and efficient. The chocolate ravioli I had for dessert was underwhelming but the rest of the dining experience was very good indeed and highly recommended.

We made a hike from Iphofen train station along the Traumrunde to Birklingen, where we had a nice lunch at this bright restaurant. Service was excellent, and the food prepared thoughtfully, with many options that also include typical Franconian fare. Reservations on weekends recommended.

Restaurant Zehntkeller

We have eaten at the Zehntkeller several times over the years, but not recently. My memory was of an upscale restaurant with good food. The interior and exterior certainly convey that message. The menu certainly looks upscale too. We wanted a light lunch and selected the Bärlauch soup, a Poulardenbrust and a Filetspitzen. To drink, we had a water and a beer. The restaurant was crowded and service was a bit slow. In the mean time, we watched as other tables were served. At each table, at least one meal came with a silver-looking covered. There seemed to be no reason for which dish got the cover. At our table, the cover was on my wife's chicken. As for the food, the dark bread was excellent, but the white was rather ordinary. The soup was good, but my wife's chicken was rather ordinary, Her potatoes were nicely cooked. My beef was on the tough and over-cooked side and the Spätzle were not good at all.At over 55€ the meal was substantially overpriced, even considering the silver-clad cover and cloth napkins. I suspect that you can do much better in Iphofen.
