Fortunately I was able to book a table for two during the famous Art Fair (TEFAF). During my reservation I have asked for a table at the window so we could enjoy the beautiful view on Maastricht. Although they couldnât guarantee this table I was lucky to get it. And what an astonishing view. It was a risk for Rantree to move from the centre of Maastricht to this place but it was worth it. Not only the view but also the interior. A modern and warm interior and plenty of space between tables. So you have enough privacy to spent an excellent evening. And although fully booked no noise, which is a great achievement.We ordered the 5 course diner. Not only the dishes were excellent but also the appetizers. Each one of them (I think we got 5 in total) tasted excellent. Compliments to the chef; not the standard stuff but beautifully shaped and presented appetizers. Especially the merengue appetizer was an explosion of flavours in our mouth.When you order a five course meal it is a 4 hour feast. The combination of the dishes is, combined with the appetizers, are well thought out and it doesnât feel like 4 hours. We had an culinary journey on a Michelin level (I have eaten at 2 Michelin restaurants that even didnât come close to Rantree). In fact we skipped the dessert because we were done (and are not that fond of desserts).The wine list contains of a small but sufficient selection of beautiful wines. As my partner isnât that fond of red wine we ordered a Pouilly Fumee. Very good price quality. Next time I will order the wine arrangement.The waiters are stylish and informal. A strange combination but it fits into this restaurant and probably they know how to judge the individual needs of their guests. The water and wine glasses were filled without having to ask. So no empty glasses.Is it all perfect? Almost. The bar has a beautiful view on Maastricht but has a little bit lack of atmosphere. It is a square room next to the restaurant but you will find only seats here. So actually not a bar. We were finally surprised again by a restaurant. It is not cheap but worth it. You will have a great culinary experience with great hospitality. Even thinking about the San Daniele ham tapa still blows me away. The other dishes were excellent and surprising too. Superb service as well. They just started less than a year ago. Wouldn't be surprised to see them earn stars in the future.

A 5 star culinary experience from beginning to end! From the warm reception and the excellent, personalized service and suggestions (accompanying wines etc.), Novo is an absolute gem of a restaurant. Each and every course was artistically presented, and the tastes blended in a harmony of flavors and essences reflecting that the Novo chefsâ exquisite creations are prepared and served with great reflection, savoir faire and passion. We are already looking forward to our next visit!

It was our 34th wedding anniversary so wanted to go somewhere special. Restaurant 55 was just the place to go with Michelin endorsement. The chef was very enthusiastic and passionate about describing our dishes starting with an âamuseâ consisting of Shrimp foam in shells, soup in test tubes and stinging nettle bread! Then some frozen Gespachio that exploded in our mouths. All set the scene perfectly. Then a Mackerel dish and paprika followed by braised Beef with truffle, duck then summer fruits Yoghurt and ice-cream. Service throughout was personal. A perfect experience. Well done.

We know this restaurant although it was several years ago. The owner are now Dutch people, but I have the impression that the cook stayed. The food is very good with some "old fashion" cuisine touch. The fish is delicious, the have also sweetbreads with foie gras, excellent.The service us relatively slow, although you don't need to wait for hours. They try to do their best, when we had dinner it was only one waitress for the whole restaurant.

The restaurant is conveniently located by the national road and close to Maastricht. The ambiance is very good and the owner is serving himself with great enthusiasm and a big smile. The food was, overall, good. Especially the sweet bread and the goose liver. The vegetarian dishes are a bit disappointing. But the wine was very good. Overall a good experience.

This restaurant is located in one of the most picturesque villages of Belgium and the restaurant itself fits in perfectly as it is located in an old building next to the village's castle. The staff is very friendly and the lady of the house takes good care of her clients. We all took the proposed menu and were very pleased with it, the food belongs to the better class. Don't bother with picking the wines, unless you're very sure of your own wine-knowledge, the restaurant has a sommelier who suggests wines that go perfectly with the dishes, he did a perfect job for us anyway (also try the champagne of the house, great choice if you feel like trying something else than the classics). In short, we had a great evening with great food in a great location and considering all the great food and wines we had for a very fair price. For us, this restaurant is definitely one we will come back to. Rather sooner than later.

We actually preferred this restaurant to the more upmarket La Source restaurant of the Hotel; the food (beef carpaccio, limburg chicken) was well presented and absolutely delicious; great quality of meat and great sauces; service was friendly and efficient; the wine recommendation of the sommelier was spot on; contrary to the other restaurant of the hotel, each dish managed to convince and this at a much lower price point; I will certainly eat at the Binnenhof again, the next time I'm staying at la Butte aux Bois.

My partner and I, with friends, have now eaten at Magnific twice; we live close by and are very pleased to have this excellent new choice in our neighborhood. Firstly, and most importantly, the food is very good: nice presentation, good quality and very well prepared. The décor is lovely: very current with a sharp bar and two stylish dining areas. And, the service is very good and attentive; just consider that eating at Magnific is an evening long affair and you will enjoy it. Alain, the owner, ensures that his guests are comfortable and looked after; he is a well known character (meant in the best possible way) as he has been in the bar and restaurant business in the area for many years and is a very personable host. His new restaurant is off to a very good start and we look forward to returning very soon. Our only suggestion: the menu card is a bit short, more choices would be appreciated especially for clients who visit on a regular basis.

This is one of the occasions that one regrets having spoiled the 5 stars quotation on others. This is definitely 6 stars level.The 2 Michelin stars awarded just recently to this restaurant don't give this restaurant what they deserve : the highest level !We had a tasting menu with excellently balanced dishes and delicious combinations of delicate tastes and high quality products. I can't remember I ever had a complete menu without one dissonant. La source really made it to the top 3 of my restaurant experiences, if not thé top.We started with several little amuse-bouche. Each and every one of them was a delight. Taste, structure, combination ... everything was perfect. One of them was some cheese combination in the form of an olive. Beautifully presented and with a superb taste. See gthe pictures for the other ones.The next was hamachi and goose liver. Excellent, wow, ... Then we had haddock with oyster, passion fruit and chives. Wow again ! The main course was Dombes Duck with Mole, red beetroot and cherry raisin. What can I say - a masterpiece. The dessert was Jerusalem artichoke with pear, chocolate and sorrel. Can I have another one please ...For the sweets with the coffee, a waiter is passing by with a cart full of deliciously looking (and tasting !) delights of all kinds. One really is tempted to say : a bit of everything please..With the risk of repeating myself over and over again. This is one of the best places I've ever been. It can't be said enough. Great food, great service, great place.Thanks for the exceptional experience.
