The starters to share inspired by Japanese cuisine were nicely cooked: tempura prawns, chicken karaage, and croque monsieur. The pork pate was surprisingly good.The cod with risotto and other seafood was delicious.The US Angus was somehow over cooked. My friends asked for medium rare and they were more like medium.The lemon tart was decent.Worth a visit.

My understanding from Googleing tips in Amsterdam, tips are included in the price of meals. This wait person claimed tips were not included in the tab.I did tip and later learned I did not need to, tips were optional.We were with another couple that had just moved to the neighborhood were the restaurant is located, the wait person just lost their business.

My wife and I had the opportunity to dine at La Rive in the Amstel Hotel on the Amstel Canal. It was the total dining experience from the starters to the appertifs between servings to the starter to the entree to the dessert. Service was superb handling our every need. And dining on the canal topped it off. The wine selection was amazing. We came for dinner after the gay pride parade activities finished. I had the steak tartare and the Chateaubriand. Both were exceptional and good value for money. Good choices of sauces served with the steak. The gentleman that served us was friendly and attentive. Also the bathroom was so clean and beautiful with candles lit and a choice of hand creams... such a nice touch. Will definitely return.

We visited this restaurant on a recommendation for our wedding anniversary. We were not disappointed. The service is attentive and friendly yet professional. We had 4 courses plus an extra of the lobster of the day. The best dish was the Veal with kidneys....we had never had veal like this, so tender and tasty. I loved my cheese reblochon starter. The Pinot Noir/gamay is good by the glass. Lamb tartare was excellent and unusual. Chefs are âon showâ and look to be happy and empowered. Ambience with candles and linen napkins is cool.Highly recommend. You need to book. EU 130 for two people. Plus a tip.

We had a wonderful meal at Jaspers. Itâs a friendly place featuring continental haute cuisine and an extensive wine list. Definitely one of the top 5 restaurants in Amsterdam. We had great fish, asparagus soup and desert dishes. Service was very attentive. Each dish presented in our 4 course dinner was accompanied by a discussion of the ingredients.

Nice house (little like Martin Berasategui) on lake shore (although no view, at least inside â there is a terrace too). Beautiful interior design. 6 course chefâs menu and a la carte. Everything was good in the menu. Good service, smooth pace â not too quick but not too slow either. Iâve visited many Amsterdam Michelin starred, and so far this is a clear winner.
