Praia do Norte

With direct access to the center of Ericeira, it is limited to the south by the pier of the fishing port and to the north by a natural rocky spur, which separates it from São Sebastião Beach. Overlooking Praia do Algodio is the beautiful and typical houses of the northern part of the village of Ericeira. It has a modern beach support with changing rooms, toilets and a bar with a terrace facing the sea, where it will also be easy to find surfboards and surfers. Guarded beach with lifeguard and SOS Praia system. Parking is limited and the Parque Urbano de São Sebastião is recommended.

Praia de Ribeira d'Ilhas

500 meters to the north is the most popular wave of the Reserve, on the beach that is considered the “visiting room” of Portuguese surf. Located in a valley where a stream flows, its geographical configuration is that of a natural amphitheater, ideal for holding events. It is not by chance that the first national and international championships held in Portugal took place here. Ribeira d'Ilhas is a long pointbreak right (the waves follow the shoreline) that receives all kinds of waves and works at all tides, being the most consistent wave in the region. With W / NO undulations Ribeira d'Ilhas can provide rights of up to 200 meters in length. It is a very valuable and competitive wave, as it allows the most different levels of approach by surfers.

Best surf post on the coast for reef break waves. Gets very crowded cause people come from all over the world to surf here. So quality of waves are great. No barrel waves though, you need to go to Peniche for that. It is not a beach to hang or prettiest one on the coast but for surfing, it is great!

Capela de Nossa Senhora da Boa Viagem

The Chapel of Nossa Senhora da Boa Viagem and Santo António is located in a small courtyard with a privileged view over the Atlantic, in the center of Ericeira. Some say that the building even delimits the northern part of the village in the south. The chapel underwent several expansions and works over time before becoming the building that is next to the Fisherman's beach and that dates back to the 17th century. There are engravings on the doors that mark the year 1644 as the first year in which improvements were made; exactly two centuries later, in 1844, it was intervened at the behest of the last mayor of the municipality; at the beginning of the 20th century, new remodeling took place; and in 1993, the carving, painting and gilding of the altarpiece were restored.
