The best thing about this restaurant is its setting: the dining room and the beer garden was excellent, as was the service. Unfortunately there appears to be little competition in the way of German places to eat in Leipzig and the food, whilst being acceptable, is not great.

Title says it all. Very well run establishment. Australian owner and operator. Busy. I ate at the bar, solo, a vege curry on the specials menu. Cost 14e from memory. The food quality is a level or two above the usual fair in Leipzig, but not much more expensive. Upmarket crowd, but not stuffy. It's VERY social, even if come solo. I ended up having good/long conversations with patrons and staff. They have a different (and I think) better offering than its peers in Leipzig. Looking fw to going back and trying their FISH OF THE DAY. Has outdoor seating for smokers.

The location of this restaurant is what drew us to try it out. Located on the water just a few hundred meters from Markkleeberg Beach, we where surprised to find the quality of the food as good as its picturesque setting.As we were seated we where greeted with a Fennel Orange soup to warm up the taste buds. Following we had the "Antipasti" a selection of freshly made Italian Antipasti, the "Rösti Lax" a Potato Scollop served with home made smoked salmon. For the mains we had the "Poulet" - Chicken, served with Gnocchi in a Salbei Sauce with a Grape Confit. A fantastic combination! Great wine selection, great food, great location and very reasonable prices. We'll be back!

Wow. I have to add to the accolades. My hubby and I visited for my birthday dinner, and this restaurant surpassed all our expectations in every way possible. The staff was warm, knowledgeable and absolutely lovely. The food was incredible and the wine pairings perfect (we had 3 courses with wine). The origins and history of the various wines were fully explained to us with every glass. We were treated to additional courses and wine throughout. I am somewhat of a foodie and also appreciate good wine, and I have never had such a delightful experience. We were totally pampered the entire time. This restaurant is such a gem! I highly recommend it!

Sehr gute bürgerliche Küche unheimlich nettes Personal und tolle Atmosphäre zeichnen dieses Restaurant aus. Wir kommen auf unseren Radausflügen im Leipziger Seenland immer wieder sehr gerne hier vorbei. Es schmeckt gut, ist preiswert und geht schnell und es ist immer offen.

On a Sunday at lunchtime we were looking for a restaurant in Böhlen, where we could eat properly for a reasonable price, without waiting too long. This is exactly what the restaurant offers. We especially recommend the ribs. The beer was well chilled. However, because we ordered nine dishes, we had to wait more than one hour. The output of the kitchen area was obviously very limited.The seats under the canopy on the terrace are very pleasant in summer. The menu was only in German.The only real surprise was when paying. You can pay in cash or with an EC-card that only works in Germany. International payment cards are not accepted. Why?

I became aware of this restaurant because it is owned by the same great restauranteur as the Fela in Leipzig. This brand-new restaurant is located at the largest lake in the Leipzig area and serves wonderful seafood and meat dishes, all freshly prepared. A member of our group is a strict vegetarian and loved his homemade pasta and cheese dish. This is the kind of place you want to visit to get away from the city, to stroll along the "Seepromenade" and to stop for some delicious food or simply a nice drink. As it was cold the day we were there we enjoyed a cup of hot apple cider served with fresh mint while waiting for our food to arrive. Unlike many restaurants in Europe the Tara serves food continuously from 11 am to 10 pm, so no worries about the kitchen closing just as your stomach begins to growl at 2:30 in the afternoon! A true respite in the countryside, with a decor that very tastefully integrates the exterior lakeside beauty in its aquatic interior design.

Ein freier Tisch im Backhaus, schön. Nach einiger Zeit sagt uns eine junge Frau diesen Tisch können wir nicht haben wir sollten uns einen anderen suchen! Nach Rückfrage er wäre reserviert (war allerdings nicht ersichtlich) bzw. kein Schild! Danach rauschte sie ab, wir sollten uns nicht so haben.An der Kasse, die Rechnung war über 20,- EURO überraschte uns ein junger Mann, Kartenzahlung bei ihm nicht möglich, da müsste er erst jemand anderes holen, na gut wir zahlten bar. Der Rest war in Ordnung.

Mit der 4köpfigen Familie am Ende des letzten Sommertags spontan zum Essen. Reservierung per Telefon problemlos. Netter Empfang und liebe Konversation mit den Kindern. Sehr angenehme lockere Atmosphäre. Solide badische Küche. Sehr reichliche Portionen. Wir kommen wieder!

Hier sind fünf Sterne angemessen. Das Essen war einfallsreich und hatte den besonderen Pep. Es gab Currywurst mit Mangosauce und Sauerbraten mit WickelklöÃen. Der sehr gute Service rundete den Abend ab.
