We booked in advance for this guided tour, it costs £13 or £11.25 for seniors/students. It was a fascinating experience.. picked up by small coach, we had to present photographic ID as security is quite tight. You can take photos on the tour but asked to avoid identifying the cadets. We arrived on a special day, quite by chance, called HAVOC DAY. Groups of cadets running around the grounds on different routes, with full kit, hauling hefty telegraph poles. Some looked about to collapse, it was amazing to watch at close quarters. Our guide was an ex officer from the college & spent more than two hours with us, stopping at various points on the parade ground, in front of the captain's house, in the chapel & the museum, in the quarterdeck room & finally outside the college shop, where I bought a handsome navy umbrella as a momento of the day. This was one of our highlights while staying in Dartmouth. You only get to see a tiny part of the college but you will get a great impression of its architecture & history as well as a glimpse of the cadets & their training...

Four large beam engines, nearly 30 other steam engines, large steam driven workshop where you can “have a go”. Only 1/4 mile from A38 Burton North junction. Brown signs from junction but not on A38. Victorian engineering on an awesome scale. Absolutely fascinating, and made all the better by the great passion and depth of knowledge of the volunteers responsible for the terific restoration of the three beam engines that were in steam. Also thrilled to discover that work on the fourth engine is now under way. Will definitely be visiting again to see how that progresses. Worth mentioning that there are a large number of smaller steam engines in full working order that serve a variety of ancillary functions associated with the main beam engines. Could have stayed all day!

My husband thoroughly enjoyed his belated 60th birthday present of a half day experience. He was able to handle and learn about a wide variety of birds of prey. The experience was great value for money and he would recommend to all.

Open from the 18th May on Tuesdays & Thursdays and the first Sunday of the Month from 10am - 4pm only. Our WW2 Hangar is, as it was, during WW2. Hangar 42 was a key Hangar at RAF Squires Gate, housing Hawker Hurricanes and Boulton Paul Defiants. Operated by Volunteers the exhibits include Mark II & IX Spitfire's and a Hawker Hurricane MKII as well as original and operational RAF airfield vehicles. Please note that this Visitor attraction is best suited to children 10 years or older. Entry fees are Adults £5.00 Children 10-16 £3.00, under 10's Free. Veterans and serving members of the Armed half price with ID Card. If you are interested in sitting in the cockpit of one of our Spitfire Aircraft, there is a fee of £5 for this on top of the entrance fee. Free Car park, NO PETS. The university is formed from almost forty individual colleges. The grandest buildings are located in the colleges which are the oldest. The majority of buildings are built in sandstone with ornate door and window surrounds, towers and huge pillars. Access to several colleges can be gained for a small fee. Oxford is known as the ‘city of dreaming spires’ and just looking around the skyline it is easy to see why.

This was an Tuesday afternoon visit in November – highlights – the Dining Hall – Custodian Sue was very informative and helpful – the tables were laid against a background of history with its Founder Cardinal Wolsey and after his fall Henry 8 and Elizabeth 1 looking down on the diners alongside portraits of Deans - past and present – different dining times for the students – early smart casual – later more formal with gowns – a different world – and then out into the quadrangle dominated by the Wren designed tower and then into the cathedral with its choir stalls running through the centre – guides on hand to provide additional information to the free guide – it is a visit of history and tradition in spades – well worth a visit – thank you

We had originally planned for the four of us to attend choral evensong and were queuing outside in the very chilly evening breeze having arrived slightly early. As we waited, a verger in full robes came along the length of the queue explaining that we would soon be admitted into the cosy and warm environment of the chapel and further that, because it was the Feast of St. Andrew, the service would be a full sung eucharist. This was an amazing and completely unexpected bonus. We all found the service and world class choral accompaniment a very moving experience. I doubt that any of us will ever forget it. Thankyou choristers, priest and servers for allowing us the privilege of worshipping with you.

My husband and I visited as "tourists"; we were not disappointed and met with the most wonderful charismatic and splendid gentleman - I remain sorely disappointed I did not take his name. He treated us to a first class experience, his passion and commitment to the college was highly evident and I was so impressed that so many of the students spoke warmly and affectionately to him. He was clearly very well informed and versed and shared with us so much information and history that we felt quite honoured and proud that he chose to share his knowledge with us. I simply hope that this review makes it to his viewing and someone passes on how very wonderful he was. This is a stunning college and we learned so much about its history. How very privileged should you be lucky enough to study here.

Lovely college to walk around, allow a good 90 minutes and finish off with a nice snack in theold kitchen bar, in the summer the seats outside can be viewed from Magdalen bridge.

We visited this college as part of our two hour guided walking tour of Oxford. The entrance fee was only £3 per person but unless you know where to go and what to see it is well worth visiting with a guide. It is one of the oldest colleges dating back to the 12th century. It has been extensively expanding over the years so there is a large array of buildings to visit. The Quadrangle, Great Hall and Chapel are the principle places to see and with our guide giving us a great commentary on the places we saw it really gave us an insight in the past and present history of the college. It is essentially a Socialist college which apparent has provided the country with four Conservative prime ministers including the latest one, Boris Johnson. Several other colleges are open to the public but I would have no hesitation of recommending this one.
