Zoetermeer (Dutch pronunciation: [ˌzutərˈmeːr] ( listen)) is a city in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland. The municipality covers an area of 37.05 km (14.31 sq mi) of which 2.50 km (0.97 sq mi) is water. A small village until the late 1960s, it had 6,392 inhabitants in 1950. By 2013 this had grown to 123,328, making it the third largest population centre in the province of South Holland, after Rotterdam and The Hague. It is part of the Haaglanden conurbation.

From the cool 'hide out' in the back of the building and away from the street -- to the cool outdoor terras (and secret deck below, by the river) -- it's a great place to hang out on a nice day. Playing music, or simply eating, I love this little grotto. The owner is a good guy, too. Always happy to sit and talk at your table.The interior is very impressive as well. I don't usually care about interiors of restaurants, but all the wood and perfect lighting feels like home.Amazing quality of beef... and the Master Chef deserves such a title! Order something familiar, or take a chance on something you never had, it's all good!!Thank you for your great review Themandoist! We hope to see you back again soon at Restaurant Achteraf.

Some quality time with my son in this nice ambiance. The atmosphere is good, the staff attentive and the food is good. The concept of sharing several dishes with your table mates works well and is a great alternative for plates for one. The taste was good and also for the eye. We liked it a lot.

As recently we were passing by Zoetemeer, we happened to find eetcafé âDe Heeren van Soetermeer' based on reviews on TripAdvisor, well located right in the centre of Zoetermeer, we were pleasantly surprised. A simple and lovely café-restaurant in a nice surrounding. Good service from the smiling staff and nice selection of food. I chose the mussels. Better than we expected, we enjoyed a nice dinner.

The location of the terras is very good and staff is friendly. We just stopped by for coffee and lunch. Coffee came fast and was very good. The food however took very long. The grilled chicken sandwich sounded better than it tasted. It was very generously filled with good chicken, but it was a bit tasteless. The sandwich was served with ketchup instead of a sauce that better would match better. Nevertheless an OK place if you have time to wait for your food.

Ate here recently when in the area for work. Large restaurant located on a smart town square area.Good drinks list and menu, plenty comfort-food options - opted for the satay chicken, which was excellent. Service and value also excellent.Would certainly visit again to try some of the other menu items

We went to eat here before a theatre show. We were a bit late, so we asked if it was possible to get the 3-course menu. They said they would make sure we got there in time and they did. It's a niche small place, so you're a bit crammed in there when is full. But the staff is very nice and the food simple but good (a bit more than pub food).

I like the idea of slow food where you can take your time to taste and enjoy socialising and drinking while you wait, but 1 hour between 2 courses is going beyond my patience limit.Food was tasty, nothing special though, I have enjoyed particularly the dessert (apple tarte tatin), which usually is not my favourite.

I trusted the TripAdvisor comments and went there with my wife. It was fabulous! We took the 5 services surprise menu with wine pairing. A little bit pricey but definitely worth it. We will go back for sure! The place is top as well (old Dutch style farm).
