Unfortunately I cannot really write a review on this place. After a nice walk along the shore we ended in this place. It actually looks nice - but after seating for 20 minutes, seen by the staff and continuously ignored, we left again without even being able to order anything.Unfortunate that Dutch service seems to be poor in many places...

We had dinner here before going on the ferry to Hull. It looks like a cafe but the food is surprisingly good. Prices on the evening menu are a bit high for a pub but the sate and burger we had were great!

During a trip in Zeeland, we ended up in this marvelous restaurant. We order some Seafood dishes. All were fresh and delicious. We were sitting on the terrace overlooking the sea / lake. Super relaxing and delicious at the same time.

Went for dinner here on a special deal, and that might be the reason that we were not all that impressed. Young lady serving was friendly enough, but the food was rather bland and my piece of sea bass so small that it was just as well I didn't have a sneezing fit < it would have blown of my plate. The burger my partner had was also rather average. The chips were less than exciting. As it was the first time in this restaurant I can't judge whether the special deal was the reason for all this ; what I do know is that I'm glad we weren't paying full price for the meal we had and that they didn't give us any reason to come back any time soon.

A day-off, and, ergo, an opportunity to catch-up with writing a review of this 'fine' venue, which I visited for the very first time (in late January), after a very quick 'prowl' around both Brielle and Rockanje......(sadly, no time for Oostvoorne)......It should be noted that this is the 'sister' restaurant of 'De Smaeck van Brielle'.....which is obviously in 'Brielle'......also, an exceptional restaurant - which I first visited in 2009, and, circa, 10 times (in all), over the years.....the standard of cuisine, 'there' - always exceptional !I seem to recall, this 'sister' restaurant, opening in, circa, 2012 - and I'm pleased to inform that this is as good, as the Brielle restaurant. It is located on the road, which leads from Brielle, via Nieuwenhoorn, to Hellevoetsluis.......I had deliberated whether I should 'phone ahead' to book a table (as per usual, under the name 'Johan van der Smut'), but I thought - 'No! Let's be sensible for once...'I had to be fairly rapid (irrespective of potential indigestion, from 'wolfing' the food down), and deliberated over whether to go for the Oude Rotterdamsche Sandwich (I know knew why a Dutch ex, had problems saying - 'Assshton Villa') or the Salmon and Shrimp Sarnie....with a creamy.....cocktail sauce.I opted for the latter, and was delighted, immeasurably.....it arrived very promptly; it was exquisitely 'created', and was delicious. Service was excellent, and staff highly amenable......worth a visit !!!

Best beach bar in Rockanje good food great location best iced tea, lovely place to relax on Rockanje beach without having to get sand everywhere, very relaxed atmosphere, a visit to Rockanje is not complete without a visit to Havana, a delicious Havana salad and an iced tea or glass of wine

We had lunch here. Service was friendly and quite speedy. The atmosphere very pleasant and welcoming.Teas and coffees were good, as were the filled rolls. The eggs in the uitsmjier were hard and overcooked though which was a shame

Saturday night we had dinner together at Paviljoen de Meidoorn. For those not so well known in this area: De Meidoorn is located in a nature reserve (beautiful walks around the Tenellaplas) and around 18.30 pm when we drove up the deer ran across the road! Parking is definitely at night no problem: there is a nice big park in front of the restaurant. Before entering you walk on the beautiful sheltered terrace (the restaurant has an L-shape) and inside it looks cozy. However, a little bit dark, if you're sitting at the table in some places. When the drink before we took bread with various spreads and it tasted fine. The cook also served an amuse of date with bacon around it.We chose the varkenssateh and is served on a large skewer. The meat was super tender and the salad with it was nice and well stocked. Of course we got tasty french fries. The service was correct and friendly and not too pushy present. I can recommend De Meidoorn!
