The restaurant is located in the woods called "Panbos" , between Wassenaar and Katwijk, you must walk or drive 500 mtr into the woods from the main-road.The outside is an old fashioned wooden building , the inside is tastefully decorated. But you go there for the food, but also for a nice nice walk in the woods.Yesterday we had a Christmas dinner, we were warmly welcomed by the staff and the owner with a glass of champagne.The Christmas menu was for starters a combination of dishes :Fritata with with Gamba and Parma ham , a very light soup of red chicory with creme fresh and a Kimchi pancake with a lovely dipsauce.I had Pheasant for the main-dish, my sister Venison steak and my brother in law had Sole. All dishes were perfectly cooked and tasted fantastic.For deserts we had Tarte Tartin , Creme Brule, Chocolate cake (fantastic) and 2 sorts of Ice-cream.We had very good wines with all dishes, which combined perfectly.I hadn't been to Panbos for a while , so I must go there more often. This should be the No.1 restaurant in Katwijk.

A place where you can go together or with friends to have a pleasant evening. You can enjoy a variety of beers or other kinds of drinks in a cosy environment. When live music is available conversation is quite difficult.On a quiet evening you can enjoy a good meal. Not haute cuisine, but that is not the place to expect that.

visited katwijk for a long weekend with my wife and a few friends,found this restaurant near the town centre and found the people which worked here to be the friendliest people I have ever had the pleasure to meet,the food was out of this world and leon the manager was a superstar,cant wait to go back again and have another steak

We only popped in for a drink (twice!) during our holiday but the Ice Cappuccino was excellent.Nice looking menu although quite expensive but you are right on the beach.The food we saw being bought out looked the usual Dutch high quality.Service was good.Will try some food next year!

Lovely food here on the beach in Katwijk. Good kids menu and lovely seating are outside but also inside where there are some nice and unusual features. Good value for money too, â¬16 for a huge burger (great quality) that will fill anyone up. Great views of the sea outside and good just to sit here too having a beer. Lovely family atmosphere and nice & friendly staff. Definitely worth a visit.

On a family occasion we thoroughly enjoyed the four course surprise menu. Without a doubt at near-Michelin starred level. Nicely accompanied by the recommended Vermentino Sardinian white wine. Creative cooking, surprising but harmonious taste combinations. Only the freshest fish as you would expect from a Schuitemaker venue. Service very friendly and on the ball. Price altogether reasonable for this quality level. They are closed on Sundays for reasons of faith.

We visited the restaurant twice during our stay in the Kusthuisjes (beach houses operated from this restaurant). They have a nice offering of meat and fresh fish. It all comes in good quality for affordable prices. The best we had was a starter from the daily menu: Grilled mackerel on a spicy salad with Mango and cucumber...Thank you very much for your stay at Kusthuisjes and your multiple visits to our restaurant. Really glad you liked your stay with us!Big thanks for giving thorough review and we hope to see you again!

The restaurant is close to the pedestrian shopping area of Katwijk. It is beautifully decorated and looks very cosy from the outside. Weâve been there on a Friday night around 7pm and would definitely recommend to book a table in advance, every table was occupied. We started off with some very nice, fresh bread with an olive tapenade and herb butter. After that we had 2 appetizers (tuna sashimi and prawns cocktail) and two mains (the grilled tuna and the salmon au gratin), along we ordered two craft beers from their quite extensive beer menu. The tuna in both dishes was of very good quality, the sauces accompanied it well. The prawns were fresh, but tastewise the dish offered nothing special, same with the salmon, which was quite heavily topped with a sauce hollandaise. Unfortunately the greens in the dish disappeared somewhat in the sauce. The waiter was quite taken with the two female guests on the next table, so our service came a bit short, but he was attentive enough not to complain anyway. The whole meal came to 90 EUR, which we found was slightly expensive for what we got.

The restaurant was pretty empty on a Sunday evening, what we didn't mind a lot. The waitress was friendly and the ambient was rather fine. The prices on the meals were high, but I guess the ingredients and high quality is worth it. I can highly recommend the Tuna Steak, it comes with pickled vegetables and tomato sauce.
