This is a bid dam... location around it was very excellent. We went to here in the afternoon and enjoyed till evening.we had a great experience and very happy to spend lot of time at here.but take care with water...

Exactly before 100 years it is in the time of British ruling there is huge famine and floods near the Nagarjuna Sagar, though Krishna River is very near to all the villages around but there is no use of it the water cannot be stored and used for irrigation and for drinking purpose.

Nagarjun Sagar Dam is constructed between Nalgonda District of Telangana and Guntur Districts of Andhra Pradesh. This Dam construction was started in 1955 and took 12 years to complete. This project fulfil irigation and Power requirement of Nalgond, Khammam, Guntur, Krishna, Prakasham and West Godavari Districts. Construction of this Dam submerged Nagarjuna konda which was the capital of the Ikshavaku dynasty. Total 26 Crest gates are there in this project. Our family wanted to go for a long drive from Hyderabad and Singur reviews on Trip Advisor helped us decide on it today. Took us two hours to get there from Gachibowli via ORR and Mumbai Hwy. Went to restaurant at Haritha resort there and food was great! We then went for a boat ride on Manjeera reservoir and walked a bit on the dam. Overall kids had fun during the long drive as well as basic walking activities and the lush greenery on the way. Would recommend Singur highly for people looking at a great drive and a beautiful place with basic amenities!

Great place to visit. Out side city limits. 3 hrs travel from Hyderabad. This is good place for family and youngsters. please ensure to bring food and water with you. No near by place to purchase.
