Reviewed By 859nasreenI chose Asha Boutique Hotel from the online reviews. However what I saw and experienced was beyond my expectations. It had everything to make this holiday one to remember and return back. Starting with Jeff who arranged a taxi pick up. Jeff shared a touching story regarding the origin of the name of the hotel. All the staff are exceptional who look after all the comforts. The rooms are tastefully decorated, reminded me of Zanzibar. The Bed was very comfortable. The room had many windows to let the breeze in. The beach is only steps away. Being a solo traveller, I felt safe here. Asha Bistro offers delicious a la carte choices, including the ones I sampled: Ugali and spinach, chicken curry, grilled fish and pumpkin soup.

Edenhouse: The residence offers its valuable customers several options of accommodation in detached houses: 8 apartments of 120 sqm with 2 double master bedrooms and 2 apartments of 60 sqm with 1 master bedroom. Each apartment 'consists of lounge, kitchen, one or two double master bedrooms with en-suite bathroom, veranda and laundry. They are all equipped with air conditioning,dstv,Wifi.

Reviewed By Nonsense73the cottages have one bedroom, a fairly large kitchen with gas stove, refrigerator and even freezer, a living or dining room with TV, a bathroom and a nice terrace with table and sofa. The bedroom has air condition, all rooms have ceiling fans. There is hot water in the bathroom. The cottages are not brand new and so some things are not perfect: e.g. our toilet flush was very weak, so we just flushed with a small bucket of water. I didn't mind that, a small thing. I especially liked the sofas and loungers by the pool very much: with lots of cushions to linger comfortably and all with a palm roof (I must not be long in the sun and could find enough shade here. Thanks to Ruth for the room). In general, Ruth with her team is super: they are so helpful without being pushy, always available. Eden House Cottages are a great place for those who like to relax in peace and who like to explore Malindi and eat in different restaurants (and restaurants there are many good ones, many Italian and also many local ones with African food). The price-quality ratio is excellent.

A little improvement on the rooms could go a long way though. Some of the furniture is quite ancient, some of the fans not working and the windows were not so clean.

A wonderful break
Reviewed By 915charlotteWe were fortunate enough to stay here for six weeks in the summer. It was an amazing break. Metres away from the beach, clear blue waters and clean sand. We went snorkelling most days. Benjamin really looked out for us and nothing was too much trouble. After a while the monkeys do become a pain so be sure to take a slingshot to scare them away! Top tip…keep the kitchen door and windows closed! The ants were also bothersome so be prepared!

Peaceful and Beautiful
Reviewed By S6146XRphillipcDianiBeachalet Review for TRIPADVISOR The accommodation that I stayed in for over three weeks with my wife was a two-bedroom sea-view chalet. The unit itself was very basic, functional and clean with comfortable and natural wooden furniture. I chose this particular place to stay in because it reminded me of the traditional/classic style of non-makuti (non-thatched) holiday accommodation in Kenya that used to be a common place along this coast but sadly few now exist. For me this place gets five stars because of what it’s actually like to stay here rather than whether it completes all the “check boxes”. The view from our veranda was just sublime because not only do you get to see the beach and ocean but you get to see and hear so much wildlife close up such as baboons, Sykes and Columbus monkeys, various birds, large but friendly lizards and geckos and even red squirrels. The monkeys are great to watch literally any time of the day, as they are so playful, very cheeky and also light fingered. When we were there it was unusually hot being over 30° Celsius (86°F) but what made it lovely was the sea breeze we had nearly all the time. On the rare occasion the breeze dropped we just put the wall mounted electric fan on for 20 minutes or so. The beach being about a minutes walk from the chalet is beautiful and the water is comfortably warm and safe to swim in which is easily accessible by steps on either side of the chalet’s property. At the top of the steps is a sandy area with sunbeds where you can lie-down and sun worship or relax under some shade from the surrounding trees and watch the occasional flock of camels heads bobbing past. All the staff were very friendly, helpful, respectful and polite and Dorothy, the owner, was very accommodating and flexible with regards to my wife’s disability needs which made our holiday relaxed and enjoyable. Even though our chalet had no wifi coverage it was still possible to walk up to reception and sit in the shade outside under the large makuti roof and use the free wi-fi. Shopping was quite fun because it’s about a 10 minute cheap ride in a tuk-tuk which you can wave down easily enough on the Diani Beach Road.

The accomodation is lovely, the tents are very tidy and spaceous, we had our dinner on a terrace overlooking the ocean with a beautiful view of the sunset. The owner Jacob and the chef Patric were exeptionally friendly and helped us with everything we needed, next to great service and tasty food. Thank you for a wonderful stay! :)

It was fun for everyone as we lazed at the pool, the kids had lots of activities to keep them busy and a library too. Their Seafood Platter is a winner (we had it almost every day). Will definitely be back to this haven.

Baobab Beach House is a lovely eight bedroom - eight bathroom bed and breakfast set amongst a gorgeous tropical garden. It enjoys views of a stunning stretch of White beach and the turquoise Indian Ocean. All rooms and spaces are ocean facing. The interiors are light, airy and cozy.

The staff was very friendly and the check in process was great. It is a quiet place away from noise. Just wish they had air conditioning instead of the fans. Nonetheless i'd recommend a stay here.
