This is a really fun adventure in Costa Rica near Tamarindo. We met the owner, Alex at the ranch and immediately bonded with his friendly manner and stories about South Africa (where he's originally from) and surfing around the world. Starting around 2:30pm, he matched the four of us up with horses and our own guide, who took us on a 30-45 min. trail ride up to the top of the mountain, where we met our ziplining guides. They suited us up in our harnesses and gave us instructions and also ziplined along with us as we traversed the mountain over the beautiful jungle canopy over 9 ziplines. We felt safe with them and we had a lot of fun.When we reached the base of the mountain, we were met with refreshing juices and wonderful BBQ dinner of steak, chicken, Costa Rican sausages, salads, pasta and veggies - as much as we wanted- in a beautiful private dining area. Hadn't been here in years, so thought a return was in order. Since today is new years' eve,crowd was pretty light for lunch as everyone is planning for their parties!Well, although we were too early for either pizza or papas, we opted for a casado and some ceviche. Both were fresh and delivered fast - and the pickled veggies on the table added just the right amount of fire to our palates too!I'll try to get back for a pizza review later this week, but our lunch was spot-on. Only complaint was no wifi - but we weren't there for that anyway.

The Surf Cafe is a great little restaurant for the area of Playa Junquillal. The business owner takes time to meet, greet, and serve. We ate their veggie tacos on one visit. We shared smoothies during another visit. And, the coffee was always fresh. Pura Vida is what it's all about in Playa Junguillal. Leave the stress at home. Ditch the text messaging and emails. We loved it here.

If your staying at the JW Marriott in Guanacaste I highly recommend taking a walk on the beach (during low tide) to Lola’s for lunch. The food was great and the staff was awesome. The views were also spectacular

Went here at night with the family ,after getting recommended from Marriott. It's on the middle of nowhere! At first I was a little concerned..but ohh boy what a great Gem! Owner was fantastic! Respectful gas knowledge of customer service. I felt at home the whole time great vibe from the owner, food was amazing delicious ! Had a great time and will be recommending my colleagues from the company! Give it a try it's good local food ,,place is not fancy but dont be judging this fantastic place.Dear tascabront, thank you for your great recommendation. This was an incredible experience! Not only do you get a unique and delicious meal made in front of you while you relax, Noam also provides excellent conversation. Take the time to appreciate both the fine dining (each dish with a story and made from local ingredients, including from Noam’s own garden), but also Noam’s life story in general. You won’t regret it!Thank you Kate for being my first dinner of the low season: the two of you are so loving, and kind and fun. I had such a wonderful evening.

Was there during World Cup this year....very good service, drinks and food. Enjoyed relaxing out of the sun with a cold one! The meals were very good, esp the fresh fish plates. Very nice smoothies too. A very nice setting to watch the waves and surfers. Friendly and helpful staff everytime.

Just returned from Junquillal and had the pleasure of eating at Lochito's 3 times during our two week stay. Lochito's is hands down the best restaurant in Junquillal which is saying something because all the restaurants are great. Their seafood offerings are tremendous, there salads and vegetable pairing are fresh, crisp and incredibly flavorful. I've reviewed Lochito's before and nothing has changed. Great open air atmosphere, clean, wonderful staff, great food, cold beverages and great prices. Two entrees, two glasses of wine each and a bill of around $40. If you are in Junquillal simply go here often. We would have eaten here more but were intent on venturing out to other restaurants(and weren't disappointed) but at the end of the day Lochito's is still our favorite for seafood as well as their beef and chicken offerings. Can't wait to go back!!!!

We recently rented a home and had Jen cater in 3 meals along with some snacks and desert items! So grateful we choose this route! The food was delicious and worth the price - especially given the meals were delivered right to our kitchen! Lots of items to choose from, we had a group of 8 people and everyone was happy! If you are looking for a fresh cooked to order breakfast served by the nicest family look no further than Jalapenos. Mike and his wife made us feel like part of their family while sitting outside in the cutest garden.The burritos were amazing. They were huge and delicious and filled us up till dinner time.If the setting and food weren't enough they invited us behind the restaurant to see and hand feed their chickens. For is city slickers from the US it was a definite highlight.
