A friend and I visited Huntingdon as itâs the half way point between where we both love and we were looking for a place to have lunch and catch up and spend a few hours chatting.We both had the pancakes with bacon although we had to ask for it to be crispy? You would think it would be standard the food was delicious and well priced, only only minor criticism was the service, there were many young girls working and it felt like they were more interested in chatting than serving or engaging with the customers. Itâs worth a visit as the food is good and unless you fancy a chain restaurant or a pub the town centre has limited options. However it feels more of a grab lunch and go place rather than a place to have a leisurely lunch and a chat.

We've been going here for a couple of years every working day: it's our daily tipple. I would not be able to function without a BRC cortado and a bit of banter with Joel. The previous owner was very amiable, a skilled barista and passionate coffee lover, and it's great to see that these values have been embraced by the new crew. There have been some great (and long overdue) changes like skimmed and soy milk, with cold-brew and nitro promised soon... They've also continued the annual xmas tradition of special order Blue Mountain Coffee, thankfully.Their side-alley location doesn't help, but it's literally thirty seconds from Costa -- next time you're headed in there for some milky swill do an about face, find Foundry Walk, and experience what coffee's really about.

I have to say that this is somewhere that I will most definitely go to again for breakfast and am keen on trying at other times of the day.Surroundings are really nice. Tastefully furnished and service was excellent. Very reasobly priced breakfast which was really nice. Simply couldn't fault it.We will return. We visited the tea rooms at lunch time and found the food good but a little expensive for the portion size. The service , however, was good and the staff polite. The tables in the downstairs area are very close together and it is difficult to get around them.

Stayed at local campsite for second time this year and visited the Houghton tea room several times over the weekend. We took our friends in Sunday who came up for the day. Lovely welcome and amazing cakes and beverages. Excellent breakfast Saturday -thanks Linda

We were passing through St. Ives after staying nearby and were looking for a breakfast cafe. We had nearly given up when we discovered the river and River Terrace Cafe. What an idyllic place right on the river and as it was a beautifully sunny day, we sat outside. We ordered our food and drinks - coffee came quite quickly, food took a little longer, but we didn't mind that as we were fascinated by the bird life on the river. We especially enjoyed the cormorants, which we have only seen by the sea. The breakfasts were excellent, as was the coffee and the staff. Would certainly return when in the area.

From the outside it doesnât look great but once inside itâs a cute cafe. Basic looks but lots of choices to eat! I tried an egg mayonnaise sandwich on white bread and a cup of tea. The food came out so fresh and tasty! Bread was really nice. I was given a pot of tea which made two and a half cups. I didnât try desserts but they looked really nice too! Best of all the prices were so reasonable I was surprised by it!

We have had many meals here, the surroundings are a little basic, it is just a cafe, but itâs scrupulously clean, well fitted, with an extensive menu from toast to roast dinners. We have tried most of the menu and have never had a poor meal, the staff are friendly and efficient and the prices very reasonable
