We arrived quite late on a Friday night. We were seated immediately upstairs and received perfectly attentive service. Just right.We ordered a couple of starters and then the Double Take with a portion of HUGE Portobello mushrooms. All of it was perfectly cooked and a great portion size. We couldn't finish but no problem it was bagged up for us. £55 with the drinks and well worth it. Very chilled atmosphere. Very much looking forward to returning.

If you seek great British food, there is a little patch of England, trapped into a triangle betwixt the A5 and the M6 toll road that should be on your radar. Not the easiest place to locate but well worth the effort, probably one of the best eateryâs in the Midlands. On a recent trip to Tamworth to pick up and new car, we had arranged to meet with some old friends for lunch. They did the usual and sought the advice of Mr Google and they found the Boat Inn. We were a tad late for the meal, but the staff were totally accommodating, and we were soon surveying the menu. The three-course Set lunch was full of those dishes that you could taste just by their descriptions. Not to drag out the story, we all four embarked on what turned out to be, a fantastic voyage of culinary excellence set in the most unexpected place. The staff were excellent, chef sent out an Amuse-gueule that set the scene for the rest of the meal, Excellent in every aspect.We found it difficult to believe that such great food was on offer for just £23 for the three course Set Lunch. Make haste and go try it for yourself, I doubt you will be disappointed. Our thanks to the chefâs and staff for providing the most unexpected and delightful lunch. Really nice to go to check out the new menu. Love the ambiance of this place especially in autumn/winter, so cosy. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Lots of choice on menu and also a very good value set menu. Food and drink were beautifully presented and of very good quality. Have driven passed this establishment for years but never been in until today. As we had a meeting in the area, it was perfect for a coffee & cooked breakfast. Nice friendly staff, excellent coffee & juices. Lovely food, reasonably priced & Cooked well. Will pop in again if weâre passing. Thanks.

Not been here in a while, the four of us had lunch which was excellent. Very attentive staff and the hotel reception/bar area was lovely with superb grounds outside. Maybe a dress code be a good idea, we were all shirt/jacket/trousers whilst Dave from Pelsall on another table was wearing trainers and a hoodie. Will return. Keep up the good work.Thanks for visiting again and for your kind comments. Our waiter for the evening was brilliant, very friendly funny and attentive. Welcome from the minute we walked through the door, knowledge of dishes and service all very professional from the staff. Food amazing, great menu choices- couldnât fault any of it. Will definitely be back. Best meal we have eaten in a very long time! Not quite sure why we havenât been before? Many thanks !
