Absolutely lovely place to explore by foot or by car. Had to keep stopping and marveling at so much wonderful scenery. St Joseph's Church is really worth a visit, full of colourful modern anti war paintings.

Virje Waterfall

Very easy access in the middle of the beautiful nature, 5 minutes to walk from parking (PAY), very refreshing water in the shade of tries. It is a small waterfall, but it is "must" see in Bovec. Totally recommended.

The Source of Soca River

Reviewed By HUWJONE - Warrington, United Kingdom

The short sharp walk up to the waterfall was great, followed by the slightly more technical (but easy with care) short route to the source. An interesting place, though basically just a deep pool at this time of year.

Cerknica Lake

Reviewed By Zverchy - Ljubljana, Slovenia

Ice. Sun. Breathe In & Breathe Out the fresh, cold, almost frozen air. Ice skating. Divine nature walks. Swinging on a tree by the lake. Cerknica Lake is one of the largest intermittent lakes in Europe. The lake lingers on Cerknica Polje for about nine months a year. Usually, water spills over an area of more than 20 km2, but when the water is at its maximum, the lake surface measures almost 30 km2. When full, Cerknica Lake is the largest lake in Slovenia.
