We had the fabulous cabana Esmerelda all to ourselves with a large comfy bed, huge bathroom and hammock on a generous terrace overlooking the grounds. The walls are inset with coloured bottles and stone paths wind in and out of the property which also has smaller rooms, dorms and cooking facilities. But there is a great kitchen operating from 7 am serving great breakfasts, lunches and dinners with home made pasta. Beware the huge portions! Fresh ingredients all lovingly prepared especially the bread - the best in Colombia! All the team are friendly and helpful. Really a great place to stay in San Agustin

Nice warm shower and very very friendly staff! I would return here definetly, also thanks to the owner Miguel who was very attent to us.

Beautiful mansion, modern and cozy girls’ only dorm with just 3-4 beds, great lounge with fireplace and garden. Super safe. Friendly and funny staff. It was half of the attraction in San Agustin for me!

Reviewed By 263astridwThe hotel is really beautiful, it has different stules of houses and rooms: a pagoda, a colonial, a maloka and more, it’s big and it’s like in the border of the town away from all the noise but it’s near enough to go for a walk in the town. The staff is goos, they are very kind and try to help with everything. The rooms are clean, the breakfast is good and the views are great. But it feels like all that property is underused - it’s not adequately adapted for people to spend more time out of their rooms and more in the property green areas. This is a very good hotel but it could and should be much better for the price you pay.

Reviewed By SacredNatureTravelerI stayed in Hotel Huaka-Yo on February 9, 2020. I chose it because of the proximity to the Archeological Park. I went walking twice AS IT IS NEXT TO IT. The hotel have a great location in this regard. It has a huge lot of land so you feel you are immersed in nature. The building itself invites you to relax. The rooms are basic, but super clean and have hot water. I think the best of this hotel is the people that work there. Jefferson is the best receptionist - concierge I have ever met. He went all the way to assist me with the tour, transport, local information and always with a great attitude. Felipe was also ready to assist me when needed and with a great smile. And the women who cook at the restaurant cooked such great food, both breakfast, and dinner. If you stay there, I recommend you dine in. I had a wonderful steak dinner and wine. For breakfast, they have good options and everything is fresh and with great taste. I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay there again, but this time, to spend more time just relaxing in it.

Nice hotel close to the Bus station
Reviewed By fabiangesReally nice hotel to take a break from sleeping in hostels. Easy and safe to reach by foot from the bus station. Nice rooms, clean bathroom and good breakfast. Helpfull employees who will arrange transport and tours. There is also a whirlpool and a fitness room. The only complaint I have is, that the Wifi is not working well. Neither in the rooms nor in the restaurant. Being quite pricey for Colombian standards, I think proper Wifi can be expected. I think this can be easily changed and then they would absolutely deserve a 5 star rating.

Reviewed By gtotheoThis place was great! Right off the main road leading up to el Parque Arqueologico San Agustine (literally a block), it was a great location. I paid less than listed here as I arrived without a reservation and negotiated the price when I got there. I arrived and rang the doorbell and was greeted by Madam Mercy. The exterior of the hotel looks like most of the pueblo, but the interior of the hotel is very nice. Mercy was very welcoming and showed me the rooms available. There are individual rooms for a romantic getaway and larger room with 3 beds available for groups. Breakfast was included and was prepared for me before heading out on my Isnos tour, which she called to have arranged for me to be picked up from the hotel (50 mil pesos). There's a fair amount of competition in that area for hotels, but I choose La Casona because of its ambiance and Madam Mercy's welcoming personality. It was a great choice! ¡Este lugar fue súper! Una cuadra de la carretera principal yendo a el Parque Arqueológico de San Agustín, estaba ubicado bien cerca a todo. Page un poco menos que esta aqui porque llegue sin reserva y negocie. Llegue, timbre, y la señora Mercy contesto. El exterior del hotel se ve similar al resto del pueblo, pero por dentro esta bien bonito. La señora fue bien amable y me mostro los cuartos disponibles. Hay curatos privados para un viaje romántico y una habitación mas grande de 3 camas para un grupo. Desayuno fue incluido y preparado para mi antes de yo ir me en el tour de Isnos, con que fue plañado con una llamada de la señora al grupo de tours (costo 50 mil pesos). Hay muchos hotels en esa área, pero escogí La Casona porque el ambiente fue chévere y la señora fue bien amable. ¡Fue una decisión muy buena!

Reviewed By Wendy LLoved the place and they were very helpful with getting us on a tour and picked up for the bus. Such a beautiful setting. Peaceful and quiet. Walkable to the Archeological Park but be aware it is all uphill. Wish we could find more places to stay like this
