Simple well kept, room only accommodation. I step out of my room straight on to the beach to see an amazing sunset. Only down side was lukewarm water but not a major problem. The staff were amazing. helpful and protective. This is a must for backpacks, especially women travelling alone or those that arent looking an all inclusive holiday. I am definitely going again.

I had a trip planned in November but had to cancel due to the virus. The people in this hostel were so lovely, considering this was their livelihood when I cancelled my holiday. They were polite, friendly and more concerned for my safety in the UK. They were more Courteous than airlines in the west which were richer and had more government support. I will be booking this trip again when this virus disappears and I know I will enjoy my stay with Welcoming Vibes when I eventually do.

Nightmare at Wilton House

I booked into the cosy cabin for an 8 night stay. The cabin was good size and had a large fridge, microwave ,stove and a fan. I arrived 11:30 at night. There was no welcome basket in the room or even a bottle of water in the fridge. There was also no information in the room regarding the Wi-Fi password. I had to go and ask for the password and was jumped on by one of the Rockweilers which guard the property. I was told that my bed linen was going to be changed on Saturday morning. I came back to the cabin in the evening and it had not been changed. On Sunday morning I again requested clean linen, then went out for the day. I came back early evening still no clean linen, so went to request again for some, and was told they had forgotten my request from the morning. I would not recommend this property to anyone! As customer service does not exist. I had paid Ms Bridget in cash for my cabin and the next day, her daughter asked me for payment! Don’t these women talk to each other? For the 8 nights I stayed here I battled bugs every night. I am aware that this is normal in the Caribbean but a mosquito net would have meant that most of the bugs were not on the bed beside me. There is a lot that could be improved. 1. Provide information about the Wi-Fi Most accommodations provide you with basic information on a laminated sheet in the room 2. Provide mosquito nets for rooms that do not have air conditioning 3. A basket with a a couple of sachets of tea and coffee in the -rooms would be a nice touch and a bottle of water. This is the bear minimum of hospitality. Unfortunately my experience was not a one off, as other people checked at Wilton house as we were attending wedding and the experienced the same crap service. I was told to my face… after paying over $600, that she was not cooking breakfast as there were no guests at the property.

The place is worn out, practically everything non functional (except internet). Daytime receptionist is a total sourpuss and conpletely unhelpful. STAY AWAY. Just a terrible place and for $50 a night a total ripoff. I'd pay $10 max or better yet not pay and go somewhere else!

Ultimate relaxing getaway

Reviewed By ACBean

Katamah provided an outstanding experience for us. All we wanted was to relax, sit by the sea, swim, and eat local food at local places, and we got all of that and more. The Katamah team was super-helpful during the entire planning and preparation period, which included lots of flexibility around our booking because of COVID disruptions. They gave us great information about what to expect once we got there and in town, especially with guidance about local facilities, cash availability, etc. Katamah’s facilities were amazing. We stayed in the Laila suite and enjoyed every moment on the screened porch and relaxing in the breezy room. In April at least we did not miss air conditioning at all. Bed was sooo comfortable. There were plenty of bath and beach towels the whole stay. The communal spaces were perfect. The kitchen had all that we needed and the lounge was welcoming and comfy. There are plenty of spaces to lounge in the shade and sun by the beach. We formed a little temporary community with the other couples who were staying there at the same time—good but not smothering company! The water was warm and calm and lovely, the beach perfect for a morning stroll. There are three restaurant/bars you can get to from the beach. There are another 6 or 7 places to eat in easy and safe walking range on the streets. My husband enjoyed morning runs along the roads. I can’t recommend Katamah and Treasure Beach enough. Thank you, Moni, Simon, and Maya.

WHAT A WASTE OF TIME

completely un-staffed, waiting for more than an hour in the rain to even get into the room which was not clean at all, kitchen was filthy with old food on the stove. Only one place to eat. YOU HAVE TO HAVE A CAR TO STAY HERE. Rooms have no privacy, huge unnecessary closet that has a window into hallway that isn't secure. Some strange person lives in room 6, its completely filthy in there and the smell comes from under the door into the dining area. Completely disappointing based on the extremely old pics they advertise on line and its current state which is in terrible need of massive updating. There isn't much beach, it more like mud than sand. But if you want remote, distillate, filthy, no where to eat, unsafe place to stay. Then this is the place for you. Definite value for money if you don't care where you stay!
