Reviewed By Aunt VThe hotel is close to the airport and without traffic about 10min by car to the city center. The staff is very friendly but the hotel is very run down for the price. The breakfast in the restaurant was good if you have time and patience to wait more than an hour. We enjoyed refreshing at the pool after a long day in Douala.

Reviewed By NformiharmIt's a nice hotel with a good restaurants and a supermarket downstairs where can get all the stuff you want. I visited the place on a Friday evening to get cake for a friend's birthday. The cake was delicious i can tell you.

Reviewed By na0mic2Positives: Okay neighborhood. WiFi was okay. Negatives: So many. Very old and not so well-maintained. Overpriced and not great restaurant. My room seemed infested by bugs. There were little ones in the bathtub, and then at night I was constantly attacked by mosquitoes (no bednet) and another bug (I think dust mites). I put the AC on the highest setting and basically made myself sick to stop the mosquito bites. I barely slept. One of the worst hotel experiences. I couldn’t wait to leave

Tout était de travers, les prises, la douche qui tombait directement sur les wc...!!! Cet hotel a été fait de bric et de broc et offre peu de confort, mais ne se prive pas de taper fort en prix. Placé en plein carrefour il est en plus bruyant. Ce fut une erreur que nous ne reproduirons plus.

Decent stay but….
Reviewed By MrWorldtravellerJThis is about my 6th time in this hotel. I got a much smaller room this time. Room was clean but will be better with some renovation. I had issues with little cockroaches in the room which insecticides didn’t resolve. Breakfast options are quite limited for an international guest. Food from the menu from the menu are decent. Just had one incident when I ordered the grilled beef skewer, it arrived with the meat barely cooked. It was replaced after I brought it to the waiters attention. However, location is great and proximity to a police station gives some security assurances.

Average hotel but terrible amenities
Reviewed By abdulhakeem aWas meant to stay 3 nights but had to cut it short to 1 night when I discovered the had no functional internet wifi after I had paid. Hotel layout pretty clumsy with dark glommy hallways. We had dinner at the restaurant, wasn't bad. Local restaurants and supermart in walking distance. Super U Bonamoussadi is just 4minutes out.

A motivation for incountry travel
Reviewed By sabinej436I spend a 4 days weekend there and it was the break I needed during this COVID time restrictions. The perfect place for a short or long stay, the rooms are net clean, staff is carrying and the food is just amazing. Large bedrooms nicely decorated, various living rooms that can accommodate different styles and group, the view is really nice.

Incredible cuisine and hospitality
Reviewed By mhornadyWe were fortunate to get to spend time at The Lodje twice this month, and neither was long enough. This new guest house is only 3 rooms, right next to the French owners’ restaurant. The rooms are spacious, and beautifully equipped with fabulous mattresses, extra pillows, excellent TVs, balconies, and big bathrooms. The showers had great water pressure and there were plenty of towels, a rarity in African countries. We got to have the cuisine with them upon our arrival in Douala. All I can say is, try it for yourself and you will be a happier person for the rest of your life. They served us the Camerouns for which the country is named....shrimp, in other words. However, these shrimp rival lobster tails in other places, and combined with impeccable French service and David and Jerome’s thoughtful personalities, our experience was otherworldly. Cameroon is not a country that most travelers think of when they think of fine French cuisine or hospitality. The Lodje will change your mind.

Reviewed By yinkus2016I spent 12 nights in this very cosy and quiet hotel in Douala. I must say that I was very impressed with the friendly and courteous staff. The meals were on point, while room service never exceeded 30 minutes. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Douala.
