An Ember Inn, it has the air and clientele of a local and is a good meeting place for friends with friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere. Drink prices are average and it has a large menu, serving food all day. The food is nothing to write home about, standard pub chain fare, but, then again, there isnât anything to complain about either, it neither excites nor disappoints and having eaten there quite a few times, it is always consistent.The man who served our food was friendly and chatty and cleared the table quickly when we had finished.I had the Chicken BLT which is a tasty sandwich, while friends had chicken wings, which are a remarkably meaty option and a chicken pie. The food is reasonably priced, and we had no complaints about service or quality.When it comes to clearing tables though, beware over enthusiastic staff. I had half a double G&T on the table and while I was away getting a round in, a helpful member of staff cleared our table of empties â including, unnoticed by my friends, my half-drunk G&T!!!!. So glad we visited, Carlene the landlady is so friendly, as are all the staff and locals, good choice of food and drink, and all at reasonable prices. Canal runs behind the pub, good mooring and good walks. Well worth a visit and we will be back soon.

With plenty of car parking, and extensive external seating area for sunnier days, the 'Parson & Clerk' Toby Carvery, opposite Sutton Park, provided an ideal venue to meet up with old friends. Whilst being fairly busy there was plenty of space, and no apparent rush to move on so that, after having had a leisurely drink in the bar lounge area, we moved in to the restaurant and perused the menu at a pleasant table by the window. Whilst the menu was standard 'Toby', the Carvery looked exceptionally good, with the option for a 'large' plate at an extra £1.50, which provided greater 'quantity', and also added sausages to the main choice of pork, gammon, turkey and ham. Quite frankly the standard plate was more than sufficient!There was an extermely wide range of vegetables, of which you could have as much as you liked - which were well cooked and, despite sitting under the heat lamps, appeared and were very fresh.The service team were pleasant and cheerful, and attentive without being overly obtrusive, which made for a relaxed and enjoyable meal, finished off with one of their lovely sweets, a delightful sundae.A very relaxed meal in pleasant surroundings, and extremely good value of money.John T, thank you for your kind review; we are happy to pass along your comments to the team here at Toby Carvery Streetly! Had a cheeky drink on the sofa in the bar and were then seated for our reservation on a Friday night. Gabi our waitress was lovely! We shared baked Camembert as a starter. I had the fish cakes and the hubster had a burger. I had food envy. He told me it was delicious! Couple of Aperol Spritz and and an espresso martini later and it was time to call a taxi....Hi Louise H, we are very happy to have provided you with such a positive experience! Rare lunchtime catch-up with a friend. I've eaten at this place before and found the gluten free options good. Thus I returned today, expecting a positive experience. Again, no fault with the food - excellent all day breakfast, gluten free. The young man who brought our orders to us was lovely; polite, friendly, helpful. The spoiler for me was the unnecessarily loud music: we sat there shouting across the table, attempting a conversation over the din (impossible to escape, with speakers pumping it out on all sides). At the bar, placing our drinks order, I asked if the music could be turned slightly down; explaining that we were finding it difficult to converse, against the overbearing noise. The young female staff member looked uncomfortable - glancing warily toward her colleague, another woman, standing at other end of bar, before nodding to say that, yes, she could do so ... Obligingly turning the volume down by the time we'd sat back at our table; not so much that it could not he heard, but enough to be no longer intruding into our every thought and word. Quite soon after, it was turned back up (slightly louder than before); I presume by the other woman, who very assertively took over serving us when we went back up to order food; glaring at me: 'and, is there anything else ...?' We ate our food, and left, and will not be returning again. So, well done you, whatever your name is; you just lost a customer and earned a bad review. Excellent professional conduct: not.hi im sorry to hear you had a mixed experiance today, our appoligies that you felt the music was intrusive on your convosation. We aim to cater for a wide range of guests and do try to please everyone.If we have let you down on this visit the whole team here at quinto can only appoligise.

Checked out this place as we are moving to the area. The bar is vibrant and friendly but has limited space.The restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere and nicely spaced tables.We have eaten here twice and the quality of the food is amazing on all levels; presentation, taste and creativity of the dishes on offer.Service is attentive and professional. Highly recommended!
