This BnB was absolutely brilliant! Our rooms were gorgeous with a beautiful view out to the stream! Lovely comfortable bed with great decor - the pillows were brilliant!Bathroom was good - only slight thing was we just had a bath instead of a shower but this did not bother us too much!! Breakfast was the best breakfast I have ever had at a BnB!! It was superb!!!! You had cereals, fruit, yoghurts and juices as well as a hot breakfast of your choice!! Absolutely brilliant! We also had dinner in the pub the night we arrived which was also very good! Lovely area where the BnB is situated! Stunning! We went on a little 1 hour walk which was brilliant!Would recommend this BnB to anyone visiting the area!!

Visited / booked a Sunday lunch here after popping in for a few still ciders last Thursday evening Glad we booked as the place was fully booked this lunchtime The Lamb is a great little village Devon pub that sells a good selection of real ales, ciders and wines - the staff are friendly and pleasant - there is free WiFi if you want it - children are welcome The dining area / bar is quite unique with a couple of sofas placed between the tables (there is also an adjoining restaurant area which we didn’t use)We hadn’t dined here before (although we did have and recommend the home made pork scratchings with apple sauce to complement a Crazy Goat cider (also highly recommended) on the Thursday evening) but liked the look of the menu / food on offer (see photo)We both ate from the Sunday lunch section of the menu - I had the duck, my wife the nut roast (see photos) Both dishes were extremely tasty and well complemented by a large Yorkshire and a variety of veg including cauliflower cheese - the portion sizes were goodI then had the sticky toffee pudding and my wife the bakewell tart (see photos) - again both were really good (I particularly liked the honeycomb biscuits with the sticky toffee pudding)Despite the pub being really busy the service was efficient With drinks and a coffee the bill came to well under £50 - which we think was great value We recommend the Lamb and would eat (and drink) here again - thank you Hi Johnthank you for taking the time to give us such a generous review. We look forward to welcoming you both in the no so distance future,

Just returned from another awesome evening at the Beer Engine. Came here about six months ago and really enjoyed my eve, and tonight was just as good. Fantastic service from the staff, really friendly and amazing food. We had the steak pie and it was gorgeous. Lovely fresh tasty veg and a pint of cider completed my eve. 10/10

The Duck At Yeoford

We visited for an evening meal whilst staying in the area.It has recently been refurbished, and what a great job has been done. The menu is very good. It’s like a gastropub, but the food that was presented was a level above that. Just excellent. There is a very friendly welcome and our dog was allowed in one part which was great. In all a lovely country pub with a good selection of Ales, but the food is a step above, and reasonably priced. Couldn’t ask for more. Thank you very much and delighted to hear how much your evening. We look forward to welcoming you again when are visiting.

Rose and Crown

Reviewed By Dave H

So I’ve heard lots of good rumours about the Rose and Crown in Sandford near Crediton. Having spent the day looking round shops and exploring the beautiful mid-Devon countryside we agreed it was time for some dinner. We’d both missed out on lunch and having only had a small breakfast each we were starved. We parked in the car park and waited 5 minutes for the doors to open (6pm). They have vegetarian friendly food and were very happy to adapt to a vegan option for Beccy whilst I’m easier to please and eventually chose a mixed grill. There’s plenty of choice from the menu, with a fair number of vegetarian options, some of which can be adapted quite easily for vegans. There’s the set menus plus specials board and a great selection of beers, ciders and lager including SAN Miguel, which I chose mixed with lemonade as I was driving. I’d have preferred a Jail Ale from the pump but decided to stay safe, as always! The mixed grill did not disappoint, while Becs had a Thai vegetable burger, with no bun (brioche has milk in it) and a chef special of tomatoes, mushrooms and seasoning in its place. Both meals were rounded off with well cooked chips (we had chunky but they do thin fries too) and Becs had extra salad too.I was tempted by the steak and ale pie but my tummy said empty so I’m glad I chose the mixed grill to help fill the hole! It’s a great pub with off-road parking, beer garden and a lovely village setting. They have various events through the year including a charity bike show. Food was great, staff were friendly and the atmosphere inviting, we’ll be back and so should you!

Good portions, often three meat choices. Beef cooked medium rare, which is how it should be. Always freshly cooked, and replenished regularly. The gravy really makes it, a firm favourite in our family.

We were at the Pennymoor folk festival which is held here every year. We were camping in the field. We went in for dinner to save us cooking in the motor home. We all had the curry which was advertised with rice Jan bread and chutney. I asked if 2 of us could have "half and half" and 1 just with chips. It wasn't a problem. The meals were fabulous! Plenty to eat and extremely tasty. I would recommend you visit if you're ever in the area. The staff are really friendly and accommodating.
