McMahon's Cafe Bar

Have been to McMahon's Cafe Bar a number of times and was delighted to get a good coffee and decent fruit scone each time. The bar is very well appointed and the staff are friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is lively with some good music playing on the sound system. One very big and glaring omission by the owners of this bar is their lack of attention to the toilet area. There is NO hot water in the Gents and the urinals are rusted and soiled.

Venue on the edge of town, plenty of free parking. Lunch very good value for money. Room a bit cavernous and lacking atmosphere. Nothing posh but wholesome food. Dining area spacious for large groups and families.

Meadow View

The Meadow view was always a place you were sure of a good feed which is why I was disappointed. Portions were small, cheesecake was hard (I presume still frozen). The ice cream was full of ice crystals and the jelly was so hard the kids thought it was hilarious. Main course was €12, I really do not begrudge paying well for good food but my dinner was not worth that. A lot of manual workers and farmers would eat there but I can promise they won't be happy with a small feed. I just hate the little mini buckets for holding the chips. The main course was nice though. I was raging with myself I didn't complain but there only appeared to be a couple of (lovely) young girls working so I didn't. Hopefully this was just an off day in what used to be a great place to eat.

We were just passing by and hungry, we should have kept driving. A small basket of chips was €3.50. I had the chicken curry again overpriced for a packet curry. The lasagne was overcooked. Service was good, atmosphere good, but the food was poor.

We stayed in Butlersbridge for one night and everyone told us to eat here, and so we did! The interior is great, the staff is friendly, and the menu offers a lot, although it's rather expensive compared to most other places we had dinner at.My parents absolutely loved their dinner, and their first course was really great. My Burger was okay, and Dad's steak was also good. The soup, however, was fantastic and I abolutely loved my dessert!

We were looking for somewhere to eat on a road trip to Co. Clare. Spotted the Hatch and parked up outside. Inside was modern and clean. Menu was varied ( had to ask for kids meals though). My partner had the beef dinner special, I had soup and kids had chicken wings and pizza. The beef was nothing short of superb. My partner is a chef and not easily impressed, however he found it cooked to perfection, slightly pink in the middle as it should be. I also tried it and it was melt in the mouth delicious! Mine and kids meals also lovely. Service was friendly and efficient and prices reasonable. We would definitely recommend to anyone and would definitely go again if we’re ever passing again!Thank you for your warm comments . We hope you all enjoyed your trip away and hope to see you soon . We are updating our kids menus for lunch time service at present . The Hatch .
